  • I gotta agree....the drums are a bit much but I think the low quality of the video contributes and it may have been different in the moment vs watching after the fact

  • @jazzmac03 I will try not to take too much exception to the "low quality" video comment. Sorry...wasn't shooting in HD back then. And that had nothing to do with the song arrangement.

  • @jazzmac03 I think its the video quality and the drummer might be contracted to play because the original live version from the 9:30 club sounds like this which is wayyyyy better than it sounds here. No disrespect to the guy who shot this ;)

  • I swear some ppl just dont know what the fuck they b talkin bout, the drummer is fuckin killin this shit and the vocals was right there as well...fly version

  • Awesome version ! I loved it when i saw them live in Paris :)

  • This is mad crazy, evrybody is singing but he likes it having people sing with him that is truly a singer.

  • I love this song and performance but whoever was playin those drums kept messin me up

  • people have we forgotten that Stokley was the original drummer of MC. everything you see on stage is rehearsed for months on end everyday its not a spur of the moment thing.

  • People, People, People! Do you think that he just 'DECIDED' to play that way? I saw Montel Jordan 2 wks. ago and he said ,"I know you want to hear it - just 1 time but I HAVE to sing it E V E R Y Single Night, FOREVER!" -referring to "This is how we do it"

This is what happens when music is made by machines(keyboards). Learn to appreciate musicianship!(remember Drum Line?) Musicians PLAY and it's their song...if you want to hear the record - turn on the RADIO!

  • Love Mint Condition.. HOT ..but the drummer was waaayy too extra for this smooth mid-tempo ballad.

  • yeah, the drums fuckd it up, but still great performance from Stokley. so talented.

  • Say what you want, but I love this rendition! Personally, I feel this is Mint Condition being Mint Condition!

  • the beat killed the song

  • evrything fine except that stupid military drum, thats what it sound like to me

  • the drummer must have had an overshot of caffine

  • FIRE THAT FUCKING DRUMMER...asshole tried his best to ruin a perfect performance

  • I love new version on the live CD but the tone of the drums on here kills the flow of it.

  • damn the drums needs to chill a little bit

  • Can muisc get any better then Mint? I don't think so! Love Mint Condition over 20 years

  • i know right.....

  • The drums through it off. Nothing better than the original. The drummer really wanted to be noticed, lol.

  • Like myself as a musician, I could play every lick during a tune to impress other musicians, but I'd go with "less is more". Just play the pocket! It's fine to change the tune a bit but don't kill the groove! Most of the ladies just want to be crooned.

  • To each his/her own, I suppose. Interesting that so many of you are opposed to the energy of this live drums in this version.

  • I'm not opposed to his energy or his brilliance. I'm opposed to what is a terrible terrible idea. No matter how talented and brilliant the song and the performers are, it's really a bad idea. It would be different, and totally appropriate for the drummer, the slick harmony, and creative rhythms, to be highlighted in a channel or break section - that would be awesome in fact - but just like physics, there is science to the sound. And this is very tense without resolution. Terrible.

  • @entity3sf ...agree!

  • whoa listen to the drums on this....damn this is dope. I want a better version tho

  • ugh, I have to agree 100% with mr chiffy... this is a terrible rendition of the original, they really messed it up here imo...

  • drums suck on this track - ruins it for me - stick the original - that's what made it a classic - what's with this jungle drum and bass remix with the drummer going mental ?

  • The artist HAS to have leeway to switch things up a bit in the live performances. Otherwise, we'd be bored to tears at our shows. But not everything is for everybody.

  • that's a fair point - and i agree - but in this instance - the way they changed it ruins the whole atmosphere of the original song - remember - people are watching you because they like the original songs. so change it up to keep it interesting - but don't completely overhaul the tune so that it sounds nothing like the original - it does a disservice to the fans. i mean - a drum and bass beat on this song ?? come on man.

  • Great song, drums suck so bad! Compared to the original version.

  • They did that in Indianapolis back in May. The crowd went nuts!! It was an outstanding show by an outstanding group of REAL MUSICIANS.

  • Thank you for posting this. There is no band out there like MC. LOVE STOKLEY

...They will be in Cleveland 07/25

can't wait to see my man

  • The drummer just going off for no reason lol its tight tho

  • Yes! Yes! I too have experienced mc's performance!!!I got to meet all of them i hug stokely, Jeffery, and odel. best of Jeffery is a pure 100% sweetie pie. They really made me feel comfortable. They probably will know mw as towel girl.

  • This was shot on Labor Day 2008 at a free concert in Philadelphia. I was in the press section directly in front of the stage. :-)

  • Where was this??

  • I love this song!!
