ah cmon, from what I see this is the consequence of really bad glider control by the pilot. To heavy break usage at the beginning of the incident (heavy breaks during strong and sudden lift) and to little (or basically none) to correct the collapse... this guy should not fly such a wing. Sorry.
With so much altitude, usually absolutely no problem!
Is this really National Geographic? Four minutes of bad pilot behavior and uninformed narration are a completely inaccurate representation of paragliding.
I love how people run into a landing glider .....
I do not understand this behavior x) It always ends badly

Not much information, i wish there was more. I did a tandem flight once, and it was wonderful. No danger.

Great intro. Noobs in the beginning.

The pilot should have taken a better training.
1. mistake: no brake when the glider went to the front by turbulent air
2. mistake: no consequent stop of left rotation by braking on the right side
3. correct: pulled the reserve
4. mistake: no action taken to go to the center of the tree while sitting in the tree

AGREED sometimes you need both hands on the correct control as the forces are too high

@lovehorrordotde thats what i was thinking without having a training yet !

Every paraglider pilot needs an emergency branch to land on.Flying in turbulance makes paragliders die.Fly a proper aircraft. Fly a hang glider.

The Joe Parr clip is probably the most infamous paraglider crash on the web.
