I'm impressed more with the seemingly emotional depth of this young pianist than with his technical ability. I've seen many young pianists play challenging works to great applause, but unfortunately they sounded like a robot was performing, with none of the emotional depth needed - and this is where the real artistry comes through. I'd rather put up with a few mistakes if I was moved by the performance than something technically perfect, but sounded "dead". That's not art. Bravo George!!

What I meant to say: the Cliburn contestants were wonderful but George is in another realm so it's no putdown to them to say he outshines all the Cliburn players. It's in his blood, bones, soul, spirit, hands and heart. And we're the lucky ones to be alive to see him perform.

Not only is George very musical in his delivery, but he maintains a speed that that is unequaled. He has that super-human technique on the order of Martha Argerich or  Cziffra. I think he possesses the material of which legends are made.

I never get tired watching theses videos of you playing,

and to "klauzal", mastering technics is not the only thing, gaining experience playing with an orchestra is a must, also one's fear of playing in front of an audience need to be tamed, and what is better doing it when you are young, it is not exploitation, it's never to early I think?

A brilliant and emotional performance from a person who is not only talented, but realizes the importance of music in life itself. He has technique, but his biggest asset is simply his emotion and style in depicting and painting the piece through his musical soul.
