  • the Mirical was that it was understood. not babble . people acting like that is that they are wrong.

  • No... Dr. MacArthur is a astute theologian, and right on target. Read the Chapters 13 and 14 carefully my friend and you will discover the text says "..whether their be tongues they shall CEASE.." I do not want to debate this online, therefore I will make this my LAST comments to you by saying "..May the Lord bless you and enlighten you as you continue to study his word..." Blessings to you!

  • @Chester.... barnes1 Dr. MacArthur is great at bringing the scriptures in line with his own opinions. The real irony is his firm conviction that he is the only teacher who wouldnt do such a thing. Tongues will cease JUST LIKE knowledge will vanish. Has knowledge vanished? The point is that LOVE endures, just as the WORD will never pass away. Has heaven and earth passed away? No, heaven and earth is still in tact, knowledge hasnt vanished, and tongues HAVE NOT ceased.

  • In response to Odete.....as a believer I would like to exhort you to stop attributing your "spiritual" experiences to God. The fact is, you have NO evidence that it is the Holy Spirit. Moreover, your understanding of Scripture in terms of the function of the Holy Spirit is COMPLETELY incorrect. Your experiences are not God inspired, but a result of your own fertile imagination.

  • Reading from below & up to this one: What happened next was more than a delightful surprise (for lack of better words, for it cannot be described in human terms no matter how much I try or anyone who has received can do justice to explain for the Holy Spirit comes from the Holy throne of the Father.) It was like Rivers of Living Waters that fell on me, it was higher than anything on earth. It was heaven in my soul & spirit. God's Spirit is real. Try Him!

  • If it were just a passing experience, I could not recall the moment, but it was the most glorious time in my life at age 16. Like the woman caught in the act of adultery brought before Jesus & He responded: "Whoever is free of sin, cast the 1st stone" & one by one they all left until only the woman remained & He said, "Neither do I condemn you; go & sin no more." I had been raped, was pregnant & homeless when Father God received me at the altar. I had no preconceived idea of what would happen.

  • By the way, I was not in a pentecostal church. I was in a United Methodist Church where none of the older members had ever received this experience. God has not left me since. He speaks to me in dreams, gives me visions & words of knowledge for Whom He chooses I should speak to. It's not my doing. I'm not religious. It's simply my relationship with God on a daily basis. Ask Him for the Holy Spirit Baptism & you will receive it. I enjoy praying & also speaking in tongues. God is an awesome God!

  • Not only did He send the Comforter as promised to bless us & for signs to follow, He has not changed His mind & His children still receive the promise today. Those who do not have it like John McArthur take to discussing it as he really knew what he's talking about. Yes, I know you've studied the Bible, but do you really know GOD? Ask Him & He will give you all things. God is limitless & you are limiting him with your negative message about the Holy Spirit of the Living God. He's also merciful.

  • I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit of the Living God when I was 16 years ago. This happened when I came to the altar and prayed & poured out my heart to God having repented of my sins. Just as the word of God says, I began to speak in other unknown tongues & could not stop for 2 weeks as much as I tried. I literally had to cover my mouth with my hand & the glory of God remained on me & to this day, I'm now 55 years old, I still speak in tongues when I pray. Jesus sent the Comforter.

  • Many believers equate the PERSON of God to experience because HIS PRESENCE IS EXPERIENCIAL. To imply that experience is valued to the exclusion of God is a judgment no man has a right to make. JM's analysis is based on a theology of rationalism and distance. The BIble is based on the PERSON of Jesus Christ.

  • @denoinwa Lot of gobbly gook talk that not making since.

  • @Chesterbarnes1 not making sense, typing error.

  • @Chesterbarnes1 "..not making sense.." pardon typing error

  • Dr. MacArthur is correct in his interpretation, we must always measure our experiences by the Word of God. If our experiences do not MATCH the reality of God's Words discard your experience. God's Word is our measuring rod for any of our experiences.

  • @Chesterbarnes1 Huh??? correct?? Read I Cor 14:2 in any translation. It says "He that prays in tongues speaks to God." MacArthur changes it to say He who prays in tongues prays to a false God. He deliberately changes the meaning to fit his theology. None of the translating teams of any major translation agree with him on this. MacArthur is way out in left field. And worse he is dishonst.

  • This footage is totally wild!

  • TRUTH about Speaking in Tongues

  • 1 Corinthians 12 : 6 , 8, 29, 31.

  • @AaronTrutsJC 1 Cor. 12:31 says to eagerly desire the greater gifts. Tongues is not one of the greater gifts. Paul makes it pretty clear that there are much more important gifts, such as prophecy.

  • In the bible it says ask for the gift of speaking in tongue, or prophecy, or miracles, or the gift of healing. but mostly ask for the gift of prophecy so u can help people because speaking in tongues is only prayer to the father and other men do not know what u are saying unless there is a tongues interpreter.

  • @AaronTrutsJC - Did you listen to parts 1- 10 of this message? The Bible does not teach that you can pray and pray and get the gifts that you want.

  • @michaelbirkhead yes it does. it invites us to ask for spiritual gifts so we can help people. with healing you can heal people, with prophesy you can help people with their personal life, and with tongues you can pray in the holy spirit for more intense praying. im not a bible scholar or a advanced christian but ive read a few scriptures about it and my paster says so too.

  • @michaelbirkhead maybe not the "gifts" you want that are material but spiritual gifts yes, god wants us to have them. ask not want not.

  • @AaronTrutsJC The Bible also teaches us that Spiritual gifts are given to every man who has the Seal of the Holyspirit (which means every christian in Ephesians 1:11-14). So, from the day you become a Christian you already have a gift.

Further, he gives to each man according to his faith... He also gives us that portion of faith according Ephesians 2:8-9 (faith is a gift from God - the word Grace and Faith are gender in greek so both are referred to as being given).

    And According to John3...

  • according to John3, the spirit moves when and where, and how he wants and we know not where he comes from nor where he goes.

  • be honest you all. to sumerize and reverse engineer this would draw me to a conclusion that anyone who evidenced the holy ghost baptism with tongues is misled and not a believer in Christ in scriptural terms. this person also needs do repent of the sin of speaking in tongues, be converted to christ, and have demons cast out of them. funny sounding but it sounds no differrent to me than when people say that taking fire arms out of the hands of law abiding people will reduce crime... cont..

  • @jehu2011 thus placing all the fire power in the hands of those who wish not to obey the law. bear with me here.......so.......in the same sense......the o'l devil can do all the talking he wants.........but.......those who supposedly abide by the law of the spirit of life in christ Jesus are to never have god speak through them and wait for some pastor to come a-running and save them. a little picture here, yes i know that the two issues are not the same issue, same logic employed

  • @jehu2011 and then you wonder why oppressive governments follow on the heals of all such 'spirit of god restricting' theology. don't blame god nor those who recieve the holy ghost baptism with speaking in tongues, thus being truly born again, for the pain which you will have to endure but, could have avoided

  • Thank you so much for sharing your videos. 5 stars plus eternity, My Friend. I know these took a long time to produce and I am sure God will Bless you in the end.

Some People are getting their mind off the most important things in Life and are running as hard as they can into a fire that in the end time, they will wish they did not go in that direction. These videos are proof to me that you are concerned about the lost or mislead souls.

  • READ IN HIS 12TH VIDEO MY FULL COMMENT

  • NO HE DIDN'T SAY HE SPOKE GIBBERISH TO A STRANGE GOD AND YOU'RE WRONG JOHN " HE SAID HE SPOKE IT ALONE MORE THEN ANYONE OF THEM BECAUSE HE HAD NO UNDERSTANDING OF IT BECAUSE THE SPIRIT " not men" SPEAKS " BUT HE SPEAKS WITH HIS OWN UNDERSTANDING AS WELL : HA JOHN YOU LIAR HE ALSO SINGS IN GIBBERISH TOO: DOESN'T THAT KILL YA? PAULS NUTS RIGHT

  • I hear not even a hint of respect for others of the many scholars that do not accept John's minority system of belief. Very few times, if any does he say he is not sure, or that he doesnt know. John is sure of everything.....Often wrong and never in doubt.

  • The answer Paul gave was NOT to stop the speaking in tongues in church but: "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret." 1 Corinthians 14:13 although it says that if he can't, he should be quiet.

How did Paul tell them to run church?

"How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, EVERY one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a TONGUE, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." 1 Corinthians 14:26

  • he also says "hath an interpretation"... so he's not saying every one of them has every one of those things, or else why would he even be writing those things in the first place? he's saying "how is it that everyone has something to say?" because if they did, how are they teaching each other? please read the rest of that chapter :(

"let two or at the most three and someone else interpret" two or three? that's a far shot from everyone all at once all around the congregation :(

  • So I think you for taking the time to post all of these vids.I had been going to a Pent. church. And they teach that the initial evidence of baptism in the holy spirit is tounges. Thats why I left. My very good friend still attends the church, I think she is being misled and I don't know how to point out the errors of that church without being rude, argueing, and offensiveness.

  • I have been praying for the Truth to be shown to me trying to keep an open and teachable spirit. Now my whole teaching by the Pentecostal church has been opened wide and I am finding a lot of wrong teaching there. I have found that we are to compared everything we are taught to the Word of God that way we are not mislead. I cry for those that are beguiled and mislead! The Word says we are to STUDY to show ourselves approved..

  • @linlinlinda1, God gave me an answer on confusion in churches. It is a long testimony but here is the end result he gave me the number 104, read Psalms 104, and then Psalms 119 verse 104; "Through his precepts I gain understanding, therefore I hate every false way". This,. My Friend is my answer to confusion, God would never send a comforter in the form of someone who would confuse you. The Holy Spirit God sent to be our comforter was a very good teacher, God Bless you my Friend.

  • @timestandingstill

I am so sorry, I just saw your reply. Thank you for this. The Holy Spirit gives me peace and I realize that the Pentecostal have some right and some wrong but then what religion doesn't? I talk to the Lord and He shows me the truth in the word and through the words of friends and preachers and even music sometimes. So anyway, I am at a Baptist church now and I am finding that some of their interpertations don't quite get it either. Oh well. ( :
