His comment on foreign troops operating on US soil is a fact. Google "FEMA National Level Exercise" 2009, 2010, and 2011. Foreign troops are already being trained to "handle" US citizens. Youtube has already begun the task of banning user accounts who've posted videos of these troops training on US soil.
Some great ideas there. I also keep a lot of dried pasta and a gravity water purifier with about 50 spare filter cartridges - and a heap of chlorine tablets in case the only water available is putrid beyond being filterable.
People..you DO NOT need massive amounts of food...what you will need is fresh WATER. You can survive up to 2- 3days(MAX) without any fresh water. You can live without food for 3 weeks. Water is much more important.

@charkee1 make raised beds using 1st top soil,potting soil mixed with cow manure. Plant what crops that give the best yeld. i have 6 raised beds 3x16 ft and every year I have enough for my family to store and to share.

Ya' Gotta have at least weeks worth of food that preserves without refrigeration & can be prepared with minimal heat, most important of all, drinking water. 1 gallon per person, per day, washing will require extra.
If you buy stuff you normally use and rotate the stock, it isn't a great effort. Often overlooked: toilet supplies, they last forever.

Tbaker is right on, get MRE's they give you enough calories to last you the day that is what they are made for. There are also winter ones with double the calories. One a day and you can last. They also have heaters in them for water but you can warm yourself with them if you wrap them up. All you need is water and MRE's.
True but the are out there I have found them. A one year supply is about $4600. They have a shelf life of around 5 years. You can also purchase one year supplies with water with them for a few hundred more. If you got the money it's definitely something to look into.

This is only 50 days of water. Think about that people. I have one container of water in my garage, 325 gallons of water. It's probably about a months worth, because you have to think about cooking and cleaning too.
That depends on a lot of factors. What is it being stored in? Where do you live? What is your water source? Is this source known to be pure? Do you have a water purifier?
Water can pretty much be stored indeffinatley, but it needs to be clean, and stored in a clean container. Water is a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses, light and warmth encourage bacteria growth, so water should be stored in a cool, dark area.
It ain't rocket science, as long as you have water, you'll be fine.

Preferably it should be purified before being stored. I have a 55 gal drum that I keep fresh water in, with a reverse-osmosis machine filling it. The drum is rated for long term water storage.
With some disposable plastic containers, the plastics could leech carcinagens into the water and potentially cause cancer.
You can use glass containers to store long term if you're worried about taste, but taste of water would be the last thing I'd be concerned with in a situation like this.
Water typically lasts for 2 years. It is recommended that you have one gallon per person per day not including other uses for water. It should be treated with non-scented chlorine bleach (1 tablespoon per gallon) unless it comes from the tap in which case it is already treated. I would suggest buying a Katadyn filter, this way you can filter out river water, if necessary. Water can also be purified with tablets or boiling. If you don't like the bleach taste, add fruit punch mix. Good luck :)

Besides a garden (Seeds of Change is my favorite online source for organic seed), there's edible plants probably already growing in your neighborhood. Dandelion leaves, watercress from streams, elderberries, abandoned apple trees, crabapples, acorns, cattails, and more ideas from Euell Gibbons "Stalking the Wild Asparagus". Find a local botanist and you might learn what else is worth eating in your area.
Remember the saying "all we have to fear is fear itself"? If we all go crazy with fear this sort of thing could really happen. But if you look around we have it really, really, good. We have plenty of food, water, transportation. The list goes on and on. Let's get the banks fixed up and move on.

Suggestions: Canned oysters, mussels, clams, sardines, etc. Lots and lots of protein with low cholesterol, low sodium and moderate amounts of fat. Get these with some saltines, which they go well with. You can get the low-sodium kind if you like. They practically last forever. Saltines may go a little extra dry over time, but they'll still be edible. The prices on these items haven't gone up yet and they are still relatively cheap. Not for long.
Things I have bought, some of which are also mentioned in the video: lots of seeds for growing my own food, flour, rice, pasta, oil, honey, sugar, tuna, spices, salt, vegetable/beef/chicken bullion, bars of soap, recharable batteries (adapter cord for charing in the car) non-electric tools, freeze dried coffee, powdered milk, oats, dried fruits, nuts & last but not least extra clothing for the winter(especially important if you have small children)Books on herbal medicine & gardening.

I've been ready for about 6 months now too and only now are the media comenting on price increases and instability in the worlds markets and some people are therefore waking up. If anything people should be encouraged to by seeds for planting as well as grains and water.

I have been preparing and everyone else should too. There's no harm in keeping extra food, water, and medicine supplies and other things necessary to survive.

Agreed, this guy is a little on the extreme side, but there are a few things I learned from our last ice storm that knocked out power for a week.
Ya' Gotta have at least weeks worth of food that preserves without refrigeration & can be prepared with minimal heat, most important of all, drinking water. 1 gallon per person, per day, washing will require extra.
If you buy stuff you normally use and rotate the stock, it isn't a great effort. Often overlooked: toilet supplies, they last forever.

Tbaker is right on, get MRE's they give you enough calories to last you the day that is what they are made for. There are also winter ones with double the calories. One a day and you can last. They also have heaters in them for water but you can warm yourself with them if you wrap them up. All you need is water and MRE's.

True but the are out there I have found them. A one year supply is about $4600. They have a shelf life of around 5 years. You can also purchase one year supplies with water with them for a few hundred more. If you got the money it's definitely something to look into.

This is only 50 days of water. Think about that people. I have one container of water in my garage, 325 gallons of water. That depends on a lot of factors. What is it being stored in? Where do you live? What is your water source? Is this source known to be pure? Do you have a water purifier?
Water can pretty much be stored indeffinatley, but it needs to be clean, and stored in a clean container. Water is a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses, light and warmth encourage bacteria growth, so water should be stored in a cool, dark area.
It ain't rocket science, as long as you have water, you'll be fine.

Preferably it should be purified before being stored. I have a 55 gal drum that I keep fresh water in, with a reverse-osmosis machine filling it. The drum is rated for long term water storage.
With some disposable plastic containers, the plastics could leech carcinagens into the water and potentially cause cancer.
You can use glass containers to store long term if you're worried about taste, but taste of water would be the last thing I'd be concerned with in a situation like this.

Water typically lasts for 2 years. It is recommended that you have one gallon per person per day not including other uses for water. It should be treated with non-scented chlorine bleach (1 tablespoon per gallon) unless it comes from the tap in which case it is already treated. I would suggest buying a Katadyn filter, this way you can filter out river water, if necessary. Water can also be purified with tablets or boiling. If you don't like the bleach taste, add fruit punch mix. Good luck :)

Vegetable oil WILL spoil. Store in dark green glass to deter photosynthesis. Always wash bottles with BLEACH prior to storing. Get Vitamin C. Tetrapack Non-Fat Milk will last many years. Tuna in OIL (not water). You can use the oil for cooking, heating, etc.

There is an easy way to make an oil press. (using a hydrailic jack) Google z:
"homemade oil press" and you should find it. A 40' x 40' patch of sunflowers (the little ones) will supply a family of 4 with oil for a year. This isn't good for immediate survival, of course.

Besides a garden (Seeds of Change is my favorite online source for organic seed), there's edible plants probably already growing in your neighborhood. Dandelion leaves, watercress from streams, elderberries, abandoned apple trees, crabapples, acorns, cattails, and more ideas from Euell Gibbons "Stalking the Wild Asparagus". Find a local botanist and you might learn what else is worth eating in your area.

Suggestions: Canned oysters, mussels, clams, sardines, etc. Lots and lots of protein with low cholesterol, low sodium and moderate amounts of fat. Get these with some saltines, which they go well with. You can get the low-sodium kind if you like. They practically last forever. Saltines may go a little extra dry over time, but they'll still be edible. The prices on these items haven't gone up yet and they are still relatively cheap. Not for long.

I just wanted to comment that you really did your homework on this issue and knew it was going to get worse. I hope it doesn't come to the point of economic collapse, but I fear it's a possibility. I have been preparing and everyone else should too. There's no harm in keeping extra food, water, and medicine supplies and other things necessary to survive.
Hope for the best - prepare for the worst. Because when you need it and don't have it, you'll want it.

seriously i cant see a way out for the dollar when the derivitives unravel and unravel and unravel more - it will be so much easier to just scrap the dollar and start again with something else - thats what I think the plan well could be - lets wait and see anyhow - I hope your right lol.

Pretty good vid. Especially agree about googling skills now and writing them down. About the foreign troops I'm not so sure. Even though world economics have changed, it's still true that as goes the U.S. economy, so goes a lot of the world. Other militaries may have their own problems. (Also, think of havoc caused by insurgency in iraq, then image population of the U.S. run wild. Other countries may want no part of that for a long time...)

Martial law pretty much precludes any and all land based travel.
Sailboat requires no outside energy source. And maritime travel is fairly unrestricted still. More so at night, and very difficult to police the entire coastline all at once.

Well ....... I would not be so sure of myself. You might find you're in for a little surprise.
I think you might find that is true for most people. The victimizer can quickly become the victim. People don't always rely on cops who show up after the fact to protect them.
Just one example: Take the guy who was randomly shooting people in a restaurant in Texas when the woman unholstered her 357 magnum and laid the assailant to rest. She had just come from the shooting range.
