  • he kinda looks like tony iommi

  • place it on the shaft cause you have a little larger holes now. It should slide on nice and easy.

  • I ready use it i never catch nothing

  • @MsBass13 do you mean you DON'T catch anything with it, or you never get skunked when using it?

  • i used this buzzbait with no mods and caught tons of bass over 15 inches.

they work great for a cheap bait!

  • To tell you the truth, all the bass see is the shape of a shad or other bait fish below the surface, the blade creates a disturbance on the surface that makes it look like the bait look like its getting away quickly or its injured.

  • another mod i'd recommend is taking some fishing line and tie it around the rubber band that holds the skirt on. one time the rubber band broke on mine in the water and i reeled in a skirtless bait haha. i started tying line around them and haven't had the problem since. i also do it on the $1 spinner baits too

  • glad you posted this i went to walmart and bought several of em great christmas presents and i did the bead just as you did used my daughters make a necklace kit lol thanks it works great

  • why not just crimp a weight on instead of takeing it apart

  • can you add a clacker like the booyah has?

  • Comment removed

  • The new Wal-Mart Buzzbaits are Squared at thetop so it wont slide down like the bent top does.

  • @KidSwishBasketball Ive also caught a bass on it the first day i tried it in the evening and it works GREAT!

  • i hate walmart , that dude is stoned as shit though

  • i hate walmart

  • another great way to modify it is crimp the sleeve on the end so the blade squeals and grinds against it

  • he has his glasses on because, when your cool the sun shines on you 24hrs a day.....

  • @MrBubinski777 he was working and cuting materials , lol was his eye protection .lol i know he should lose the shades lol

  • very nice...will try it...never used a Wal-Mart one but what the heck...

  • the 4 dislikes came from people who were outfished by the modified $1 walmart buzzbait! XD

  • I did this modification and it works like a charm. I was having trouble with some weeds getting up on the blade too and causing it to not function properly until I reeled in and removed but with this bead in front it even runs smooth with a few piece of vegitation or weeds on it.

    Nice vid!

  • Yep, he shops at Wal-Mart

  • Bass don't see black i thought? So they hear the vibrations and it pisses them off..

  • well made video I like it [;

  • I have a few of those WalMart buzzbaits - good value!

  • well made video. thanks. i'll try it.

  • whay the fack is he wearing glasses inside?

  • @92rs25th i was gonna ask the same question

  • @92rs25th hes hi as a kite lol jk

  • ok so u put a bead on it and trimmed it...why is this video 4:50 long?

  • @Xxlaynpipe22xX. Check out the Bass Alarm Clock. By far the Loudest Buzz Bait on the market today! Fish all lipless crank baits on top!

  • I just picked up one today and did the mod. It took about two minutes. Can't wait to try it out!

  • its $3.94 at my local walmart =(

  • @Garyhernandez could have bin a diffrent brand maybe?

  • @zammystavez i dont know they only sell one type of brand here for those lures

  • @Garyhernandez i havent checked my local walmart yet, when i do i tell you the price where i am at.

  • he said cut with sharp scissors...lo look like he was struggling....

  • they have a $5 buz bait kit at walmart from luck e strike.

it has 3 buz baits.white black and firetiger color.

they also have 12 worms that can be used as the skirts

they do have the bead now

  • @randomvidsbykevin Oh yea, I just got that! Except I got the spinner bait set. good deal though.

  • Very good vid! Nicely done.

  • good job sir very well done

  • the shirts on those baits suck. I recommend getting some Strike King skirts and putting them on the buzzbait. Better colors, more lifelike, and higher quality.

  • i just bought 13 1$ buzz baits and i am going to make those changes

  • @KVDism

Whoa why did you buy 13, different colors and extras? I would if I could afford it.

  • i did this to my buzzbait from wal-mart and it worked alot better when i did that.

  • is that a luck e strike lure?

  • I can say, the spinner riding up the rod is a problem.

  • If you have a little more time soak the thrust bushing in bleach over night. This causes it to rust and produces more/different noise. Sounds crazy but I know it works.

  • The sound the buzzbait makes is what cause the bite.

  • thanks for the tips... :) worked like a charm...now to test it in the water...wish me luck :)

  • another tip is to take a drill and drill a gole in each side of the spinning part, it makes it flutter better and leaves a trail of bubbles in the water.

  • tyvm now i wont have to buy my buzzbait at canadiantire for 10-15$ xD

  • wow very helpful tips keep putting these great tips on thanks

  • Great suggestions. I almost always run a trailer hook unless I'm trying to maneuver through really heavy vegetation. I have found that 30% of my hook sets are coming on the trailer. On occasion I will also hook on a power bait type tail which I have found increases the minnow type appearance. Good luck hunting the lunkers

  • these are the only buzzbaits that i buy, with the modifications they are just as good as any high dollar buzzbait.. i caught a bass over 9 pounds and many 4 and 5 pounders with these walmart buzzbaits.. good video

  • Are you a professional?

  • @0369A9630 fail

  • a duhr. he is a pro you tard!

  • Great vid!

Good thing about the Walmart Spinner & Buzzbaits is that you can get six of them for the price of one namebrand one. Or during the opening of Hunting Season when they change the shelves and clearance a lot of stuff, you can pick them up for 50 cents each.

  • Shouldn't be shopping at china slave mart in the first place.

  • Everything else is made in china, I doubt you don't buy anything that is made in China, so just join the club budy....

  • cant u just put a slipshot?

  • ok so do i need yo put a bait on it or lol just like that??

does it mater if its in the water or not

  • @TheKillersOfDawn

The lure is the bait itself. It doesn't need bait.

And yes, it needs to be in water to work.

  • exactly.

  • I've seen a lot of complaints that this doesn't float... well that's BS. All i did was what this guy said to do and bend my blade much closer to the head but not to where it's touching it. a caught bass today in a place i never have before. fished it plenty of times before too.

  • i have caught 3 bass and a northern pike on mine, another good mod is to bend the end of the shaft past 90' so the bottom of the blade hits it and makes a rattle. very easy and effective!!

  • i bought this....

it doesnt stay on the surface..

  • you can do 2 things about this problem cup the blades in more or crank it in faster and as soon as the lure hits the water start cranking FAST

  • its not meant to float!!!... reel in faster. my bro had the samer problem, the head was bent to far out, bend it back a little but not so mech that the blade hits the opposite wire. hope that helps y'all.

  • i know...

but the thing sinks, i reel the fuckin thing fast as soon as it hits the water but it doesnt stay just below the surface,

  • start reeling just before it hits the water.....i have had a lot of luck with mine. it works best at night. try it that way

  • k

    ill try at night

  • will this work in a pond

  • what would be the best color skirt to buy for lakes and pier fishing?

  • Black is really popular....

    I have white also...

  • o ok thanks

  • thats not called modify thats called okie rigging

  • I bought 2 at a hardware store...

    they were cheap

    made of lead though

  • All of them are lead ^^

  • Great vid. Another quick tip. Drilling a hole on each side of the flat part of the blade causes alot more chatter and bubbles. Good job!

  • they have a slight angle on them

  • i thought i saw it for $1.79 at walmart...does anyone know if thats a different buzzbait of is the 1 dollar one still there?

  • I went to Walmart and had the same problem the thing is only some walmarts have them. The 2 near my house didn't but Ive gone too 2 other walmarts and they did so I bought 3 of these 2 modify. Go to different stores the fishing sections are always different and you find deals. They don't come in boxes. They just hang them in racks look around.

  • Thanks for the mod video! I dont put the rivet back on, I put on another bead and sometimes i put 2 beads in the front as well.

One other thing you can do is drill 2 holes in the blade. One on each side of the wire, and try to keep them pretty close to the same. this will cause it to bubble some when coming through the water.

  • On the other hand I bought 2 of the $1.00 spinnerbaits they have and then another 6$ spinnerbait, and ill tell you the dollar walmart ones worked amazing, i got one that was blue and white and one that was red and white, i caught 4 decent largemouth with the blue one over about 4 hours fishin in 30mph winds haha, then today i used the red and white one and caught 4 largemouth in an hour , and a few that didnt get the hook set (that sucked) but it was good i would def recomend buyin this lure

  • I bought one of those 1$ buzzbaits from walmart same as his and we went fishing and i was suprised with it i actually caught a largemouth with it w/o moding it, it worked alright.

  • i caugt 2 it works well with structure

  • i bought like four of these and did the modification and they work great. They work so good in fact that my friend took two of them

  • That's a good tip about putting a bead on it. What I've always done with them is just bend the wire shaft into more of a right angle of 90 degrees so the buzzer can't slide up around that bend. You can do it with your hands or with pliers. Most regular buzzbaits have a 90 degree angle instead of that slant which is causing the problem, but hell, they are only a dollar so it's worth it. I've caught two 7 pounders on them at night which is the only time I fish a buzzbait.

  • I love the strikeking buzzbaits they sell at walmart. I get them up in Wisconsin and they've never been one dollar. always two. I love them though. They are cheap enough, grab like three of them each time. They don't last very long though, i fish them so much i get them stuck in trees or some big northern comes along and bites the whole thing off because they are pretty small, but thats the best size buzz bait! I've never needed to modify mine to catch big fish.

  • i tried so many time fishing with a buzz bait, and i never cought one with it, is it the area in california i'm in or are bass is not attract to the buzz bait... need help

  • the skirts melt in my tackle and make a mess in my boxes

  • well don't set your boxes in the sun dumb shit cover them

  • they stay in my basement or in a tackle hull in a boat! they are covered by either 3 inches of metal and plastic or a house lol. they melt but i still buy them calm your baby maker

  • If the skirt melts, I just rip off all that crap and then just cut up little strands of an old white t shirt and put them around the bait with electrical tape and then some glue on top of that. It stays pretty well.

  • i bought some higher quality skirts and used them and also tied a few with buck tail and such they look good but haven't gotten to try them because of the freaking winter lol

  • I went out with this and caught a couple of 2 lb keepers nothin to big but still cool to no it worked

That fish at the end, was that off of the modifyed buzzbait???

  • it works but i cut myself on the hook like 4 times on accident and when he said the hook was sharp he means it

  • due to inflation its $2 now

  • at my walmart its 1$ for the buzzbaits and spinnerbaits.

  • i live in California i bought 2 of them, i already modified them, but haven't tried them, due to hi winds, Have you tried them??

  • thoes lures from walmart do suck, but with this video, i can give it a try and modify them! thanks for the tip

  • i went out and bought one of those and caught a 4lber without doin any of tht. but good idea.

  • Dillardslim, very good, instructional video. Several viewers commented that the buzzbait was too heavy; another viewer provided the answer which is to use a high-speed reel. You need a quality rod/reel to take advantage of what they do, which is to catch fish like crazy, when that is what the fish want!

  • I'm definat;y going to modify mine i bought at Wal-Mart! Only thing it is too heavy, but for a dollar you can't expect it to be perfect!

  • Good suggestion. I have that very same bait!

  • does it work good? I heard that the head can come off easily and break.

  • I've had NO trouble with breakoffs or anything like that. The only bad thing I would say is that it's a heavy bait and you need a fast retrieve to make it get on top of the water.

  • Thanks for posting a helpful tip.

Hope to see you post more like these.

    Happy fishing and God bless.

  • not to be a dumbass bit whats the point of the bigger holes?? better spin?

  • i thought the same exact thing lol

  • That should be a useful modification

  • This Buzz Bait is way to heavy it dosent get up on the top of the water good at all.

  • can't beat a 1 lure

  • cool =)
