  • Tear it down and start again I say!

  • Is that Ted Koppell on the left?

  • Larry the Cable Guy can sing!

  • We had just gotten to the moon when this came out, or there abouts. It sounds like they were just speculating about the future and trying to write a hit song so that they could eat and live to see the future. It doesn't sound any more far fetched than the Bible.

  • These guys must be gay as shit!

  • @SkidRowJosephine you have great insight

  • I was 14 when this song first came out and I thought it was really great, but I didn't get the message. It took me a few more years to realize that the song could be telling the truth.

  • like something from STAR TREK, but, at HAMMER

  • A song way ahead of its time. Just think of what the words are saying.

  • If today is yesterday the next day, then the future is the day what has gone the day before but is not in the future untill the day is gone, its all about time ,the future is with us always, but it does not happen untill you think about it. so the future is made as you live by nano seconds , god bless..

  • It's all coming true. As for Big Brother..... Well let's just say it's a lot of little brothers

  • I will be 61 in November and I remember where I was the first I heard this song. I always liked it but now it is more frightening and the ways it's going, this old world will be lucky to make it to 2025. This song and the Eve of Destruction make you stop and think..

  • maybe its only yesterday...

  • Actually, Rick Evans is both lead singer and songwriter. Denny Zager sang harmony and played guitar. He now makes Zager guitars-- customizes guitars according to his "e-z play" formula that sets the strings farther apart from each other. I believe this performance is from The Music Scene, the short lived 1969-70 TV show hosted by comedian David Steinberg.

  • Man oh man oh man, this was a very heavy song for its time. Thanks for posting!

  • Summary: If we can survive until 2525 without killing each other, then from then until 10,000 CE, we're boned.

  • prophetic song !

  • Who's who? is Zager the guy trying to grow the beard or is it Evans?..... just wondering

  • @TVFREAKMAN Zager is the one who's singing, Evans is the one who wrote the songs.

  • @SixtiesPopGold

    Thanks for clearing that up

  • Ach,ist der Song schön.Einfach geil.

  • @mewrth Remember that they were lip syncing to the song so that may be why

  • MY NAME!

  • .....this song was like "Simon and Garfunkel on major steroids"......unbelievably intelligent lyrics......picking your sons and daughters from the bottom of a long glass tube.......at a time when test tube babies were the stuff of sci-fi movies at best! But then....at @ 2:26......the whole thing is shot to hell when the guy sings..."and he AIN'T put back nuthinnnnnnn"??????? sorry Einstein....ya just lost me.....

  • @packard400 its about the ruthless exploitation. If we carry on like that there will be no more trees or animals. They all will be gone in our hunger for more and more ressources as cheap as possible and then... will we carry on and do this on another planet?

  • @Buemmo ...you are absolutely right! I agree with the content of the song and still maintain that a lot of the material they touched upon came true...a VERY intelligent song for the time period! Just making light of the breakdown in the grammar at the peak of the song......almost like saying...."after we destroy everything...its back to throwing stones and sticks"........maybe the reason for the "ain't put back nothin"..line......we get to the top...we fall.....we start from square one"......

  • Anyone have "Mr Turnkey" ??? :)

  • This reminds me of the Barras in Glasgow for some strange reason, a classic!

  • Love those haircuts - they´re perfectly synced!

  • nice video keep up the great work

  • I will not be here in those years and do not care about that far in the future. I think my best years is now and back before now!!!

  • @mewrth It looks about the same on the official DVD release, especially when Zager is zoomed in around 2:33. And if it's out of sync it's very slightly out of sync. Sorry but it takes enough of my time to edit and upload.
