This man is a dick off camera. He is also extremely dogmatic. Atheists - the only group more ignorant than christians. I'm not religious - but atheists are more religious than they realize. Not even kidding. Don't try to disprove it - be a skeptic for once and be open to the idea that you are dumb and ignorant - you may find in a short while that you really are 'a cosmic shmuck' as RAW put it hehe.
wooow richard dawkins really is at its best here. When hes giving these childish repetetive arguments about flying spagetthi monsters n that he doesnt sound that much more smart than a highschool boy, but here his brains are pushing out. He is a really really bright guy when hes talking bout biology and chemistry.
I understand Ben Stein went to University somewhere...but he sure didn't earn a science or LOGIC degree for that matter.
His movie "Expelled" is sooooo bad, both intellectually and theatrically-it's just BORING.
The majority of people don't understand evolution...I've had to really work on understanding its finer points, more subtle points and ramifications. I'm just reading "On the original of species". I have a degree in the biological sciences and yet I was never required to read that book.
interesting how dawkins had a chance to explain and defend himself about the interview with ben stein and "believing in little green men". and to me, his explanation sounds very reasonable.
I wish Dr William Lane Craig followers would take that into consideration when calling dawkins a "chicken shit" just because he's not interested in debating him. It's pathetic and very insecure to childishly set an empty chair out for dawkins to demonstrate dawkins "cowardliness".
@edmonddantes64 Let's start a new religion. Darkwinisn, for Dawkins and Darwin. We'll get together once a week, discuss intellectual shit, smoke some pot, and make fun of religious people.
If you define 'Aliens' as non-humans who originated somewhere other than Earth, then gods, demons & angels would qualify, so christians must also believe in 'aliens' by definition .... perhaps Ben Stein should consider that before he ridicules other people who accept the possibility of other life ............
@sendoprey How so? We have found ZERO evidence for the existence of Life outside of Earth. Gods? They can't be proven or disproven scientifically. And, to be honest with u, anything or person can become a god. I'd suggest rethinking ur opinion.
If we can engineer life ( to some extent now, and much more in the future ), Im sure if there were a civilization 100's 1000's or 1,000,000's years ahead of us.
So, this highly complex, ordered molecule formed by random chance. Really? Natural Selection is the process by which complexity is made. Again, I'm concerned here. How come Humans often don't picked a mate that will not only suit themselves the best (compatability) but also don't pick the mates that will produce the best offspring?
@UnexpectedWonder Science doesn't have definitive proof on how life started, but I'm sure you're aware of the most likely theories. There are many factors that go into choosing a mate, economic, social and biological. (Why does incest occur in the deep south more than in northern america you could ask). I suggest you research Lord Prof Robert Winston in YouTube if you're genuine about looking for answers to biological questions.
@SpidermanInLondon I should have never engaged in an intellectual dialogue with someone who uses the term "Spiderman" in their username. Your probably some 14 year old kid who does well in school and reads far beyond their level but nonetheless you remain a child. Your scope for the concept of "God" is hindered, calling my theory on "God" and eventualities nonsense is not a logical refute to my remarks. I'm tired of coming back to this particular video so farewell.
I hope my light hearted username shows I don't take myself too seriously - a fact I'm proud of. (Our age is irrelevant and a cowardly subject to raise, let the strength of your argument do the talking)
I'm happy to have a reasoned debate. However, I'm not interested in a drawn out argument over any specific topic. I'll answer your questions as fully and succinctly as I can from the perspective of scientific understanding, you can then choose to agree/disagree.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 You're pathetic, it's not unknown. It's difficult to explain to someone so poorly educated in maths and physics. You need to know about atomic weights to understand that all the elements in the periodic table can't be changed or added to.(I suggest you educate yourself by watching Prof Jim Al Khalili, Chemistry A Volatile History and 'Atom') It was the Greeks who first discovered the world was spherical and the most learned people knew that Columbus wouldn't fall off the map
At 7:56 to 8:29 watch as this interviewer completely humiliates Richard Dawkins. She raises the excellent point of how in his book The God Delusion, Dawkins claims that God can't exist as it would be bound by earthly principals as we know it. However in this very interview Dawkins has said intelligent life on other planets and indeed beyond the universe may not be bound the principals here on earth. Dawkins is contradicting his own points, and therefore God may exist. She totally owned Dawkins.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 You're wrong. Dawkins is actually just being a scientist and acknowledging the fact that the universe is big and complex enough to have different possibilities for evolution and life However, the intellectual consensus on this issue is that evolution is probably the only way for intelligent life to form There may be God like creatures in different parts of the universe, but the laws of physics are mostly constant everywhere The point is there is no monotheistic mastermind
@SpidermanInLondon Probably being the key word, as the interviewer showed here, it's wrong for Dawkins and indeed all atheists to apply earthly knowledge of physics to the entire universe and beyond, as far off planets may NOT be bound by earthly principals. Dawkins himself here acknowledged water may not be needed for intelligent life and that carbon may not be the only element capable of supporting life. His comments in this interview completely contradict his book The God Delusion. Owned.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 Nope, you're still wrong and your ignorance of chemistry and physics is showing. The periodic table of elements is full. We have discovered all the possible types of matter and know there properties. As Dawkins was explaining there are certain elements which behave in similar ways such as Ammonia and Water or Carbon and Silicon. The laws of Physics are universal and therefore our 'earthly' biology can be applied anywhere. I should be paid for teaching you this. (Schooling)
@ThoseWereTheDays56 why is there any reason to think that the laws of physics are different far away (in our universe)? if there are stars there that means they work similarly to stars closer to us?
@ThoseWereTheDays56 no I think you (want to?) misunderstand. he didnt say that the laws of physics may be different on other planets just that the chemical/physical events and systems that lead to a DNA-like structure could have been something else than carbon. as for speculating about things outside our universe its pointless. maybe you should concentrate on what doesnt make sense in your faith instead of what science doesnt know yet. (its "principles" btw,)
@ThoseWereTheDays56 God is not bound by matter. or time. or physics. according to many Christians. So in any universe that we discover is within the realm of physics just the physics of another universe. So God cannot exist in that way either
@WordsofHarmony The mistake your making is that "God" is some form of man, which may not be the case. My point to you would be to consider the possibility that all "Gods" and eventualities are one and the same. What if Allah, Buddha, God, Heaven and Hell are just different names for the one and same entity. Some form of life after death. After all these names and images of "God" on a fluffy cloud was just created so that our limited minds could try and grasp the concept.
@WordsofHarmony Whatever the case may be it is far beyond the understanding of any man, Dawkins included. We are all seeking anwers but find only more questions. If you were to gather all the knowledge of the world together it would still only be 1 per cent. In truth what we know is but a drop in the ocean. What we can understand is far less, it's almost pointless to speculate. I was just pointing out that Dawkins contradicted a lot of what he wrote in The God Delusion.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 Wrong. You speak with authority on a subject you know next to nothing about. Also, you've shown yourself to be ignorant of Science (our best understanding of reality).
P.S. Keep your fluffy nonsensical philosophies private please - (or write a book and make money from naive idiots like yourself)
@WordsofHarmony My question is simple. What empirical evidence does Science have that another Universe exists outside of Hypothesis? I can theorize much, but most will not likely be true. Anti-matter is understandable, but what would be the point of another Universe, when Earth is the ONLY other planet known to support Life?
@UnexpectedWonder Studying, Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, you can observe an accurate picture of the universe. It has been discovered there are irregular patterns of heat in vastly empty regions of space where you wouldn't expect. These patches of strange heat could suggest other parallel universes close by. There are plenty of sound reasons why a multiverse fits nicely along side established physics/ maths that we currently know about. Work at CERN might help with the question.
@SpidermanInLondon What would a multiverse mean to Humanity? Wouldn't we have seen any concrete evidence rather than theories? I mean, if this Universe is massive itself, then y should there be MORE space out there?
@UnexpectedWonder Also, the search is on for life on other 'earth like' planets and we have already found many. We'll know within the next twenty years if there is life on Mars and the academic consensus on whether life exists else where in the universe is overwhelmingly yes.
@SpidermanInLondon Pitty you had to resort to hostility and childish name calling, it just goes to show your not the brightest individual. It's just shows your immature nature, despite your statement calling my theories on "God" fluffy nonsense this does not detract from the validity of my remarks. I threw wasting my time on a malice individual, who's only method of counter to my comment was to call me idiot. You talk a big game but in truth your all bluff. Your quite pathetic
@ThoseWereTheDays56 (Your last comment said very little.) I do indeed show hostility to your ignorance of basic science. Your views are backward and idiotic compared to modern standards and shouldn't be allowed to flourish in a public sphere like this. Unfortunately, what you call "childish" is actually just ridicule of your regressive ideas. (It's not personal as I don't know you and never will.)
I've commented on several of your posts with scientific thinking, refuting your Dawkins-bashing.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 For what it's worth I'm not some religious maniac, I believe in evolution, the big bang theory, and of course stories in the bible about adam and eve are nonsense. But their is argument there for intelligent design, more so than ever! Recent scientific discoveries such as the big bang lend huge weight to the intelligent design argument. Ever hear of Andrew Flew? If not look him up, I'm sure you will find his views quite revealing.
Atheism is not a movement or group, it's simply the term used for a lack of belief in a deity, primarily caused by an increase in education.
The reason a God is placed into the unknown seems to be for the personification/ simplification of abstract realities. It has also been linked to an innate psychological need for authoritative 'fatherly reassurance'.
Faith is a negative influence in science/culture because they differ to an absolutist assumption.
The Big-Bang theory was conceived in response to evidence of inflation i.e. that the universe was expanding at an ever increasing rate. On the frontier of scientific understanding it is now believed there was a pre-Big-Bang state (more info on this can be seen on 'Horizon - 'What Happened Before The Big Bang' - found on BBC iPlayer,)
@SpidermanInLondon Interesting points, your clearly of the view that the big bang theory does not lend validity to the intelligent design argument, that's where I differ. Lets get one thing clear when I consider the prospect of "God" I realise that the image of a man on a cloud was simply concieved so that we may grasp the concept. Simply put I believe there must be some entity, a designer. Because I don't believe the universe could come from nothingness. That's my view.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "Simply put I believe there must be some entity, a designer. Because I don't believe the universe could come from nothingness. That's my view" Just to gain a better understanding of your postion, if you belive the universe could not have come from nothing, what did its creator create it from?
@davidsfriend01 That is an invalid counter argument as it leads down an endless cycle, like the question "If God created the universe who created God?". All of these questions are pointless as they are unanswerable. To answer these questions I would have to know what "God" is and what are "its" capabilities. That is something far beyond my understanding as I still walk this earth. My points were that "God" is an entity not a man on a cloud, continued..
@ThoseWereTheDays56 In reality, god to you is everything that is currently unknown to us and this unknown you say is a god and this god is a physical entity. You are taking your lack of understanding or lack of knowledge and placing something more comfortable to the human mind on it.Something we can understand to some extent,an all powerful being that can be used as a catch all answer to anything we currently don't know or understand.God is basically a placeholder for knowledge
@davidsfriend01 Continued... That the big bang theory should be unexceptable to athiests because of it's very premise, it supports intelligent design. These were some of the points I raised in previous posts, they seem to incite excitement among atheists because I certainly never expected so many replies. I'm sorry that I could not help you find the answer to your original question, but as I explained it was a pointless question as it is unanswerable.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 You seem to have missed the point of the question. You state that the universe could not have been created from nothing. Nothing being the abscence of matter and energy. God did not use either matter nor energy, God must have created the universe from nothing as there was nothing to create it from. Your position that the universe cannot have been created from nothing is therefore untenable. Wether or not God did it, it was done from nothing.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "That is an invalid counter argument as it leads down an endless cycle, like the question "If God created the universe who created God?". " That is why science uses the Big Bang as the terminator point from the infinite regression. Regardless of wether a God exists or not, a regressive terminator is needed. I would like to know why you are so confidant the regressive terminator is God absent the requisite evidence to make such a claim?
@davidsfriend01 Sorry for not making my statement clear, it was implied, when I say the universe couldn't have come from nothing, that is without their being a supreme entity. I was making the case that the big bang theory if anything lends support to the intelligent design argument. However I am by no means confident that there is a supreme entity as you suggest, I simply hold the opinion that the intelligent design argument holds as much merit as any other.
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "Sorry for not making my statement clear, it was implied, when I say the universe couldn't have come from nothing, that is without their being a supreme entity" So instead of an objection to a universe from nothing you object to a universe that created itself? How do you know that the universe must have been created by a "supreme entity"? Would you care to explain how this "supreme entity" can exist before existence?
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "However I am by no means confident that there is a supreme entity as you suggest, I simply hold the opinion that the intelligent design argument holds as much merit as any other" You are free to hold that opinion. Dont let the fact that Intelligent Design holds almost no merit whatsoever hold you back.
Historically, the subject of God has been radically reduced since the Enlightenment era within intellectual circles (whilst discussing the nature of reality) God used to be the answer to why life was so magnificently varied until Darwin's theory of natural selection showed irrefutable evidence in opposition. The concept of God has receded into the yet unknown/unanswered question of 'how did it all start?' - a question physics is making progress with at CERN
@SpidermanInLondon However I will say this you do come across as an intelligent individual even if you are quite young, my question is why do you consider my hypothetical on "God" and eventualities to be nonsense. Scientists believe the big bang created the universe from nothing, surely this would be a stand point atheists should object to. If anything the big bang theory would support intelligent design, does it not? Why is intelligent design such an outlandish idea to you.
@SpidermanInLondon I would like there to be other life out there myself, but let's be honest. Academics have often been wrong and miscalculated. I say continue the search for answers to current mysteries, but the top minds in the world should also solve the vast amount of problems here on Earth with equal concentration.
QURAN 21:30 "DO NOT THE UNBELIEVERS SEE THEAT THE HEAVENS & THE EARTH WERE JOINED TOGETHER (AS ONE UNIT OF CREATION), BEFORE WE CLOVE THEM ASUNDER"
QURAN 21:104 "THE DAY THAT WE ROLL UP THE HEAVENS LIKE A SCROOL ROLLED US FOR BOOKS(COMPLETED) EVEN AS WE PRODUCED THE FIRST CREATION, SO SHALL WE PRODUCE A NEW ONE;"
QURAN, 29:19 "Do they not see how Allah begins the Creation, then repeats it? That is easy for Allah (to do)"
WE= INFINITE CONCENTRATION & AWARENESS OF THE CREATOR.
THE UNIVERSE THAT TOOK STRAIGHT LINE AFTER THE BIG BANG ARE UNIQUE & GOING TOWARDS THE 2ND HEAVENS TO JOIN TO THE UNIVERSE OF PARADISE. THE UNIVERSES WHICH TOOK CURVE LINE AFTER BIG BANG, WILL BE COLLAPSE & WILL BE RE PRODUCE. THE SOULS WHO USED TO BELIEVE IN HIS CREATOR WE BE GUIDE TOWARDS THE UNIVERSE OF PARADISE. THE SOULS WHO DENIED HIS CREATOR WILL BE REJECT.
QURAN 1:1-7 "Guide us to the straight path,
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor,
always wondered what Dawkins would have sounded in a lecture hall ... that was very deep. his explanation on the formation of protein made me wonder about the possibilities of what else could be in the universe ....
If it wasn't for the Cretaceous-Tertiary (K-T) mass extinctions of non-avian dinosaurs from an asteroid then it would be most likely likely that the highest intelligence to evolve would have been reptilian. So you could imagine a world of lizard-men.
Well, i will not be surprised if Aliens came down and made us worship there religious beliefs. Yes thats right i said it. Aliens probably do have some sort of religion
Doubt it. As Dawkins pointed out, religion is a result of a primitive survival mechanism. Surely any aliens capable of that sort of technology would be well over it by then.
You are going down the road of a rather chubby finger being wedged into your anal sphincter, and trust me you don't want that....... So tread carefully.
Ok so ive met the father outside of our universe, Aliens did not create this universe, God did, and he is far far bigger than our universe. If you want to see that what ive just said, then get on your knees and pray for years his will like I did, and then maybe, just maybe he will show you whom he really is, blind people, WAKE UP, aliens are demons, no one comes to GOD the Father except through Jesus Christ, for he is the way, truth, life, He died for your sins, REPENT, and call upon him.
we are within an evolutionary process' which is what Quantum Mechanics should be all about' within defining any and all physicality' why do we as scientist have to pander to religious belief? What is any belief based upon but any supposition as to why anything exists' can such a thing be explained? Its redundant we simply do exist which doesnt question that there is much more than we are able to exemplify' because no one can teach anyone' we only can know what we construal ourselves
@jonimethfan When you bring double mindedness to the table, I know we can cease this mindless chattering. We both know what you meant and we both know your a little ways behind me.
LGA is not written in the Holy Bible, so I must accept that you have been deceived. Assuredly such a man of self confessed intellect and brilliance is of understanding when he is deceived? Or perhaps you have been given over to a reprobate mind?
I shall clarify some truths for you, so you are without excuse.
There is only 1 name under sun that can save a person from Hell and sin, and that's Jesus Christ.
@jonimethfan I remember not too long ago when I prayed to YHWH that he could USE Richard for his purposes.
Then YHWH answered me. The answer was obvious, sad and I should have known the answer already before prayer.
How and why would YHWH use a prideful, arrogant, disobedient, rude, thoughtless, mindless, careless creation to carry out his divine purpose upon the Earth?
I trust you have understanding as to who YHWH is? I'll leave that for you to work out brother.
If you are an Atheist and a Lover of Richard Dawkins here is the EVIDENCE that you have been looking for that atheism is true.
Atheism brings Sadness, lonliness, darkness and horror. In it, there is no love.
The Good news? It's not too late to accept Jesus Christ in to your heart. He LOVES You and wants a relationship with you. Why not humble yourself and ask him in to your heart today :-)
"Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given to the profane masses is another useful idiot for Jesuit machinations"-C.O.
Jesuitical: pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuits completely altered the education system to suit their evolution agenda to discredit the Bible. They cant have a Satanic society of 'Do as Thou Wilt' if people still follow the Bible.
@DuNyceBeats what i mean with ''holes'' is that theres missing info. like how did god exist. god doesnt have parents or something. and he isnt infinet. because everything that is infinet must have something to start it. like starting god.
@jonimethfan Sir, I do get it. I am a paleontology student with an emphasis on phylogeny. There simply is a lot of proof to support evolution. Myself as well as other educated peoples will not subscribe to any I.D. claim until it can be supported by some empirical evidence. I actually thought you were being satirical at first, but you're not kidding. Damn, son.
@DuNyceBeats its difficult to think about it, a new religion after all those decades. its indeed a big test for all religions. not only that but if the aliens contact us and were used to eachother (at least i hope so and not an intergalactic war). there will be priests who want to convert aliens to the religions they believe in
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need religion, hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important, qualitative differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption.
Homosexual activists, with complete support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims and martyrs; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
please name a single movie with alien life forms that are not simply humanoid with a few tweaks.
dawkins (i.e. the critics he is quoting) is (are) absolutely right. that does not mean there are no interesting designs for other life forms, but they are always very similar to humans (or some kind of animal). it is simply impossible to imagine something completely new, everything that comes to your mind is constructed from pieces of things you have already seen.
The Horta from the original series of Star Trek, the Crystalline Entity from Star Trek: The Next Generation, all told a couple of dozen races from the Star Trek franchise, the TARDIS and the Daleks from Doctor Who, Stargate has the Go'Auld, the aliens in Evolution, the Thermians in Galaxy Quest, 2001's aliens are too alien to even be perceived, the Thing from the movie of the same name . . .
We mostly use humanoid aliens because it's cheaper, not because we're unimaginative.
no offense, but octopus-like things or amorphic blobs really don't count as imaginative. the crystalline entity looks nice and qualifies as non-human indeed, but a giant snowflake that looks like a neuron network is not a really new idea still. by 'something completely new' i also meant really different from anything on earth, not only humans.
You said "please name a single movie with alien life forms that are not simply humanoid with a few tweaks."
I provided a list of non-humanoid creatures that clearly met your original criteria. If that is not what you meant, then it should not have been the criteria you asked for.
As for imagining something outside human experience, the TARDIS qualifies for your revised criteria.
i did not revise my critera, in fact i said the same thing in both my posts. i dare claim you posted your answer immediately after reading the first sentence and ignored the second paragraph.
but really, as good as your examples may comparatively be, the main problem here is obviously that we seem to have fundamentally different opinions on the definition and extent of imaginativeness (and admittedly, my correspondent standards concerning SciFi are really high).
No, your first sentence was the challenge - "please name a single movie with alien life forms that are not simply humanoid with a few tweaks." Read your first post again.
The next paragraph was a wholly different point concerning the difficulty in imagining something outside our experience, but you'll note that doesn't make any reference to being part of your challenge; it's a related point, but you quite clearly ask for something which is merely non-humanoid, which I provided.
well...no. actually i thought it should be obvious that it works like this: 1. statement 2. clarification, especially because i commented on someone saying "The creature designs in many films is so unique and outstanding". i'm sorry for not using only a single sentence if that's really your problem.
Okay, since you seem to have trouble with it, I'll explain it using small words for you.
You said "show me a movie where with non-humanoid aliens". Someone else may have said "The creature designs in many films is so unique and outstanding", but I wasn't replying to them, I was replying to your request that someone present a fictional alien which isn't humanoid.
I then showed you a list of examples; rather than admit you were wrong, you then attempted to revise your criteria.
Okay, since you seem to have trouble with it, I'll explain it using small words for you.

@Winstonsh0ck Well seeing as it's highly unlikely that there ISN'T any other life forms in the universe, we'll prolly run into them someday, whether we go to them or they come to us. We just have to make sure we don't kill ourselves before that happens.
It really annoys me when people ask the question "do you believe in aliens?" in the same sense as "do you believe in god?"
They are two completely distinct ideas and while, yes at the moment there is no evidence that extra-terrestrial life exists, the sheer facts that life exists on this planet and that there are probably billions of trillions of planets in existence resoundingly implies that aliens exist. Whereas there is no evidence and more importantly, no reason to believe in a god
it all comes down to this: there are NO such things as atheists. NOBODY in their right mind truly denies a creator. they just don't want to give up their bizarre sexual habits & they don't want any fixed moral standard hanging over their heads so they turn to the most psychopathic unconscionable abandonment or reason they can, that 747's randomly evolve out of scrap with no intelligent pre-ordinance. only a complete moron places matter over mind.
@saintstrawman I hoping that your comment was meant to be a joke. Of course there are atheists. I am an atheists, because I see no evidence of a creator and no reason for religion. I dont have any strange sexual habits either. My self and other atheists dont need some imaginary babysitter watching us from above, guilting us into doing what's right. We have morals without any superstition or supernatural beings. Im sure you're just another fairy tales believer
@MrKGatl in order to disbelieve in something u must have a full concept of what you disbelieve in. if u have a full concept of God then it should be 50/50 which makes u agnostic not atheist. even agnosticism is completely irrational. it violates the most basic of cause-effect reasoning that separates us from chimps by an infinite gulf. you observe the effect to consider the nature of the cause, you don't sit there & deny a cause all together. that's rational suicide.
@saintstrawman So I need to have a full concept of Bigfoot in order to not believe in him, and according to you that would make me 50/50 in whether I believe in a Bigfoot? Dont you see how ridiculous that logic is. You fairy tales believers are an embarrassment to human intellegence. Religion is rational suicide
@MrKGatl "So I need to have a full concept of Bigfoot in order to not believe in him" yes. if you didn't know what I was even talking about when I mention "bigfoot" you have no leverage to actually disbelieve. you have to wait until I explain it to you before making a conclusion. & we're not talking about a mythical creature, we're talking about mind over matter. it's rational suicide to say that silicone & copper don't need any intelligent ordinance to be a computer. talk about fairy tales...
@saintstrawman You're acting like I havent heard arguements for god or religion. I grew up in a moderately religious home. And I live in the Bible Belt, so I have had plenty of exposure. God and the idea that Jesus was a god is mythology. Copper is an electrical conductor whether it is in the ground or in a computer. You're just trying to so hard to find the supernatural in everything.
@MrKGatl I made no argument for religion so please try to put the cop-out words aside. you can discern the functions of copper or whatever as much as you want but the information applied to matter to make it life is always sovereign to the material itself & not restricted to the same law, therefore, supernatural. & quit attacking Jesus, I made no mention of theology. just shows how your personal God-hate can blind you from the facts. get over yourself so you can see some objectivity.
@saintstrawman I dont have "god-hate" and what facts are there? How am I not being objective? I am sick of theists always using man made objects to describe nature. Like your comparison that copper and silicone need intellegent ordinance to be a computor, that has nothing to do with the universe or the human body.
@MrKGatl you do have God-hate, you wear it on ur sleeves. man-made objects are nature; our creations abide by the same laws as everything else. "nothing to do with the universe" yes it does bc it's the same principle: information comes from awareness, not blind chance. chance isn't a force & the probability for the first cell falling into place by accident=impossible. science left Darwinian superstition behind 5 decades ago but morons continue to push the notion that Hitler was doing good.
@saintstrawman Oh come on. You're so full of shit. I dont hate god or any other imaginary figure, I dont hate bigfoot or Zeus either. Blind chance? Hitler doing good? Sounds like the people you talk to are just as uneducated as you are. None of us atheists believe in accidents, its called improbability. And for simple minded people, when things are tough or complicated and they just dont understand, they think its divine.
@MrKGatl bigfoot or zeus didn't divide history or predict the modern world system thousands of years in advance. nor did they predict modern scientific discoveries thousands of years ago. bigfoot nor zeus claim to be a mind so please cut the bs im not atheist remember? i see right thru it. "improbability" 1 to the millionth power isn't improbable, it's impossible. "simple minded" Im not the materialist here who believes "wachu see is wachu get." -so smugly confident in ur own self-righteousness.
@saintstrawman What are you talking about? Predicting the modern world system thousand of years in advance? Predicting modern scientific discoveries? You have zero proof of this. Zeus actually did claim to be a mind. You are so brainwashed by religion you really understand nothing. If there is a 1X10 to the 100th, it is still improbable not impossible. Your logic is so backwards. Im smug? You believe in fairy tales and act like im the crazy one!
@MrKGatl "zero proof of this" and Im the brainwashed one? you're whole atheist faith is based on opinion & personal God-hate. "you really understand nothing" see this is what happens when fallen unregenerate corrupt man try to elevate themselves as god; they develop this superiority complex. they can be completely perfectly backwards in wisdom & still place themselves on a pedestal as if they're really anything at all. yes ur the crazy one. u live under theosophical material illusion.
@saintstrawman As usual. I gave you a chance to give me proof of anything, from any of your ridiculous claims, and what did you give me? NOTHING, which is because you have zero evidence. I am not trying to elevate myself as god, thats just stupid. To you, education and intellegence, are taboo. You're just so full of shit, you think atheists have a superiority complex? Thats pretty arrogant coming from a theist who knows they are right. To put it nicely you A FUCKING RETARD
@MrKGatl Why are you asking for proof over youtube? The proof is that you're living and breathing right now. The proof is that the sun came up this morning, and, Lord willing, it'll come up tomorrow morning too. Proof is all around you, you're just too blinded with self-conceit to see it.
@SouthCarolinaSon You're just another bible thumping moron. The fact that im living and breathing have nothing to do with a god. Neither does the sun. Your comments sound like they were made by an ignorant goat herder a thousand years ago. We know why the sun comes up every day, and it has nothing to do with any fairy tales. Im not the blind or brainwashed one here, its you guys. There is absolutely zero truth to anything you say.
@MrKGatl I guess you have all the answers, if you can say with such dogmatic assurance that there is "absolutely zero truth" to anything I say. You are the ignorant one here. When I look on the comments section on videos such as this one, all I see is are people like you criticize someone for their beliefs with frightening hostility. You call people names and tell them that they are wrong and that you have the answers, when you yourself criticize them for even claiming truth.
@SouthCarolinaSon I dont have all of the answers, but I know bullshit when I hear it. The only reason that you're getting upset is you dont have any real evidence, or else you would throw it in my face.
@MrKGatl "zero evidence" you never asked. if I had no evidence, I wouldn't waste my time. "education and intellegence" no I just think ppl who act like a materialist worldview makes them smarter than everybody else are taboo especially since it's about as retarded as a worm saying that dirt is all that exists because his own brain can't go beyond that. actually, that would be more reasonable since the worm doesn't have the depth of cause-effect reasoning as man. seriously.
@saintstrawman Are you serious? Your comments are just so dumb im starting to think that you are messing with me. You cant really believe any of the shit that you're writing. And yes I did ask for evidence, obviously reading comprehension is not one of your strong point. Dont worry, I wouldnt expect Forest Gump to get it either.
@MrKGatl "You cant really believe any of the shit that you're writing" I exaggerate my examples because it helps get the point of principle across. You must be a literalist. & cut out the insults, they just get in the way of the rant. now what specifically do you want evidence for? when I said the bible exposes the modern system in advance? it does, most of the entire bible is prophetic & when understood, it clearly lays out the system. & it's descriptions of nature are scientifically accurate.
@saintstrawman Atheism is based on knowledge, and evidence. Religion is a disease, it deludes the mind. There is no evidence that god exists. he is a fictional character, just like any other character in a fantasy tale.
You have just proven how much of an incompetent idiot you are. Atheism is the very LACK of faith. using "you're" instead of "your" doesn't vouch for your intelligence either. Personally, I am in fact a Misotheist, as in, a god-hater. Specifically against those in the Bible and Quran. Why? Because there, God is described as an arrogant, selfish, megalomanical, malevolent tyrant.
@Helge129 "LACK of faith" there's no such thing. all cause-effect reasoning is based on a measure of faith. you can never prove that the building won't collapse on your head in 5 seconds but based on probability, it's reasonable to assume so. that's faith. and to believe that chaos is god & *mind* doesn't even exist is the greatest faith. the atheist cult is about as rational as me saying my computer fell into function by accident with no mind to program the information.
@saintstrawman No, that is not faith. Faith is to believe in something without any evidence what so ever. Probability isn't strong evidence, but it is credible evidence. A 2000 year old book isn't.
@Helge129 If you believe that your computer can evolve from a scrap pile with no intelligent pre-ordinance, no intentionality, no purpose whatsoever, you'd better have damn good evidence for it if you want to convince me that's not the greatest faith of all. "A 2000 year old book" written over a period of 1500 years that's scientifically accurate centuries in advance & predicts the outcome of the system thousands of yrs in advance is more evident than chance-motivated evolution.
@Helge129 The probability of the Bible is equal to an L Ron Hubbard novel. It has no better quality of probability just because it is older, but it's probability does exist...just extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY unlikely...
@saintstrawman Faith in architecture and engineering which has been approved and observed is different from belief in a fantastical super being that created everything intelligently: giving us a terribly violent world (and universe, with it) filled with an array of deadly elements, sick people, diverging political and religious worldviews cause constant schism in society on all scales, etc. who demands worship for your short stay on this flawed environment, under penalty of ETERNAL torture.
@saintstrawman If there was no concept of atheism during the formation of my ability to rationalize the universe through abstract thought I would probably have CHOSEN not to believe in such a terrible, malevolent higher being.
This guy never answers a question directly always blabbering on about some other pointless shit.

If you define 'Aliens' as non-humans who originated somewhere other than Earth, then gods, demons & angels would qualify, so christians must also believe in 'aliens' by definition .... perhaps Ben Stein should consider that before he ridicules other people who accept the possibility of other life ............

Scientifically speaking it is much more likely that there are aliens than gods

So, this highly complex, ordered molecule formed by random chance. Really? Natural Selection is the process by which complexity is made. Again, I'm concerned here. How come Humans often don't picked a mate that will not only suit themselves the best (compatability) but also don't pick the mates that will produce the best offspring?
UnexpectedWonder 2 months ago
@UnexpectedWonder Science doesn't have definitive proof on how life started, but I'm sure you're aware of the most likely theories. There are many factors that go into choosing a mate, economic, social and biological. (Why does incest occur in the deep south more than in northern america you could ask). I suggest you research Lord Prof Robert Winston in YouTube if you're genuine about looking for answers to biological questions.

SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago

(Schooling)
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 why is there any reason to think that the laws of physics are different far away (in our universe)? if there are stars there that means they work similarly to stars closer to us?

@ThoseWereTheDays56 why is there any reason to think that the laws of physics are different far away (in our universe)?
frilansspion 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 no I think you (want to?) misunderstand. he didnt say that the laws of physics may be different on other planets just that the chemical/physical events and systems that lead to a DNA-like structure could have been something else than carbon. as for speculating about things outside our universe its pointless. maybe you should concentrate on what doesnt make sense in your faith instead of what science doesnt know yet. (its "principles" btw,)
frilansspion 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 God is not bound by matter. or time. or physics. according to many Christians. So in any universe that we discover is within the realm of physics just the physics of another universe. So God cannot exist in that way either
WordsofHarmony 2 months ago
@WordsofHarmony The mistake your making is that "God" is some form of man, which may not be the case. My point to you would be to consider the possibility that all "Gods" and eventualities are one and the same. What if Allah, Buddha, God, Heaven and Hell are just different names for the one and same entity. Some form of life after death. After all these names and images of "God" on a fluffy cloud was just created so that our limited minds could try and grasp the concept.
ThoseWereTheDays56 2 months ago
@WordsofHarmony Whatever the case may be it is far beyond the understanding of any man, Dawkins included. We are all seeking anwers but find only more questions. If you were to gather all the knowledge of the world together it would still only be 1 per cent. In truth what we know is but a drop in the ocean. What we can understand is far less, it's almost pointless to speculate. I was just pointing out that Dawkins contradicted a lot of what he wrote in The God Delusion.

P.S. Keep your fluffy nonsensical philosophies private please - (or write a book and make money from naive idiots like yourself)
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@WordsofHarmony My question is simple. What empirical evidence does Science have that another Universe exists outside of Hypothesis? I can theorize much, but most will not likely be true. Anti-matter is understandable, but what would be the point of another Universe, when Earth is the ONLY other planet known to support Life?
UnexpectedWonder 2 months ago
@UnexpectedWonder Studying, Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, you can observe an accurate picture of the universe. It has been discovered there are irregular patterns of heat in vastly empty regions of space where you wouldn't expect. These patches of strange heat could suggest other parallel universes close by. There are plenty of sound reasons why a multiverse fits nicely along side established physics/ maths that we currently know about. Work at CERN might help with the question.
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@SpidermanInLondon What would a multiverse mean to Humanity? Wouldn't we have seen any concrete evidence rather than theories? I mean, if this Universe is massive itself, then y should there be MORE space out there?
UnexpectedWonder 2 months ago
@UnexpectedWonder Also, the search is on for life on other 'earth like' planets and we have already found many. We'll know within the next twenty years if there is life on Mars and the academic consensus on whether life exists else where in the universe is overwhelmingly yes.

SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 For what it's worth I'm not some religious maniac, I believe in evolution, the big bang theory, and of course stories in the bible about adam and eve are nonsense. But their is argument there for intelligent design, more so than ever! Recent scientific discoveries such as the big bang lend huge weight to the intelligent design argument. Ever hear of Andrew Flew? If not look him up, I'm sure you will find his views quite revealing.
ThoseWereTheDays56 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 Atheism in context:
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 Physics:
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago
@SpidermanInLondon Interesting points, your clearly of the view that the big bang theory does not lend validity to the intelligent design argument, that's where I differ. Lets get one thing clear when I consider the prospect of "God" I realise that the image of a man on a cloud was simply concieved so that we may grasp the concept. Simply put I believe there must be some entity, a designer. Because I don't believe the universe could come from nothingness. That's my view.
ThoseWereTheDays56 1 month ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "Simply put I believe there must be some entity, a designer. Because I don't believe the universe could come from nothingness. That's my view" Just to gain a better understanding of your postion, if you belive the universe could not have come from nothing, what did its creator create it from?
davidsfriend01 1 month ago
@davidsfriend01 That is an invalid counter argument as it leads down an endless cycle, like the question "If God created the universe who created God?". All of these questions are pointless as they are unanswerable. To answer these questions I would have to know what "God" is and what are "its" capabilities. That is something far beyond my understanding as I still walk this earth. My points were that "God" is an entity not a man on a cloud, continued..
ThoseWereTheDays56 1 month ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 In reality, god to you is everything that is currently unknown to us and this unknown you say is a god and this god is a physical entity. You are taking your lack of understanding or lack of knowledge and placing something more comfortable to the human mind on it.Something we can understand to some extent,an all powerful being that can be used as a catch all answer to anything we currently don't know or understand.God is basically a placeholder for knowledge
wraith168 3 weeks ago 7
@davidsfriend01 Continued... That the big bang theory should be unexceptable to athiests because of it's very premise, it supports intelligent design. These were some of the points I raised in previous posts, they seem to incite excitement among atheists because I certainly never expected so many replies. I'm sorry that I could not help you find the answer to your original question, but as I explained it was a pointless question as it is unanswerable.
ThoseWereTheDays56 1 month ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 You seem to have missed the point of the question. You state that the universe could not have been created from nothing. Nothing being the abscence of matter and energy. God did not use either matter nor energy, God must have created the universe from nothing as there was nothing to create it from. Your position that the universe cannot have been created from nothing is therefore untenable. Wether or not God did it, it was done from nothing.
davidsfriend01 1 month ago
@ThoseWereTheDays56 "That is an invalid counter argument as it leads down an endless cycle, like the question "If God created the universe who created God?". " That is why science uses the Big Bang as the terminator point from the infinite regression. Regardless of wether a God exists or not, a regressive terminator is needed. I would like to know why you are so confidant the regressive terminator is God absent the requisite evidence to make such a claim?
davidsfriend01 1 month ago

@ThoseWereTheDays56 'God' in context
SpidermanInLondon 2 months ago 8
@SpidermanInLondon However I will say this you do come across as an intelligent individual even if you are quite young, my question is why do you consider my hypothetical on "God" and eventualities to be nonsense. Scientists believe the big bang created the universe from nothing, surely this would be a stand point atheists should object to. If anything the big bang theory would support intelligent design, does it not? Why is intelligent design such an outlandish idea to you.

God Bless

@DementedScrew
...NOT
please name a single movie with alien life forms that are not simply humanoid with a few tweaks.
dawkins (i.e. the critics he is quoting) is (are) absolutely right. that does not mean there are no interesting designs for other life forms, but they are always very similar to humans (or some kind of animal). it is simply impossible to imagine something completely new, everything that comes to your mind is constructed from pieces of things you have already seen.
Ensiferu 6 months ago
@Ensiferu
CorvusBelli01 5 months ago
@CorvusBelli01
no offense, but octopus-like things or amorphic blobs really don't count as imaginative. the crystalline entity looks nice and qualifies as non-human indeed, but a giant snowflake that looks like a neuron network is not a really new idea still. by 'something completely new' i also meant really different from anything on earth, not only humans.
Ensiferu 5 months ago
@Ensiferu

@CorvusBelli01
i did not revise my critera, in fact i said the same thing in both my posts. i dare claim you posted your answer immediately after reading the first sentence and ignored the second paragraph.
but really, as good as your examples may comparatively be, the main problem here is obviously that we seem to have fundamentally different opinions on the definition and extent of imaginativeness (and admittedly, my correspondent standards concerning SciFi are really high).
Ensiferu 5 months ago
@Ensiferu
CorvusBelli01 5 months ago
@CorvusBelli01
well...no. actually i thought it should be obvious that it works like this: 1. statement 2. clarification, especially because i commented on someone saying "The creature designs in many films is so unique and outstanding". i'm sorry for not using only a single sentence if that's really your problem.
Ensiferu 5 months ago
@Ensiferu

NOBODY in their right mind truly denies a creator. they just don't want to give up their bizarre sexual habits & they don't want any fixed moral standard hanging over their heads so they turn to the most psychopathic unconscionable abandonment or reason they can, that 747's randomly evolve out of scrap with no intelligent pre-ordinance. only a complete moron places matter over mind.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman I hoping that your comment was meant to be a joke. Of course there are atheists. I am an atheists, because I see no evidence of a creator and no reason for religion. I dont have any strange sexual habits either. My self and other atheists dont need some imaginary babysitter watching us from above, guilting us into doing what's right. We have morals without any superstition or supernatural beings. Im sure you're just another fairy tales believer
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl in order to disbelieve in something u must have a full concept of what you disbelieve in. if u have a full concept of God then it should be 50/50 which makes u agnostic not atheist. even agnosticism is completely irrational. it violates the most basic of cause-effect reasoning that separates us from chimps by an infinite gulf. you observe the effect to consider the nature of the cause, you don't sit there & deny a cause all together. that's rational suicide.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman So I need to have a full concept of Bigfoot in order to not believe in him, and according to you that would make me 50/50 in whether I believe in a Bigfoot? Dont you see how ridiculous that logic is. You fairy tales believers are an embarrassment to human intellegence. Religion is rational suicide
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl "So I need to have a full concept of Bigfoot in order to not believe in him" yes. if you didn't know what I was even talking about when I mention "bigfoot" you have no leverage to actually disbelieve. you have to wait until I explain it to you before making a conclusion. & we're not talking about a mythical creature, we're talking about mind over matter. it's rational suicide to say that silicone & copper don't need any intelligent ordinance to be a computer. talk about fairy tales...
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman You're acting like I havent heard arguements for god or religion. I grew up in a moderately religious home. And I live in the Bible Belt, so I have had plenty of exposure. God and the idea that Jesus was a god is mythology. Copper is an electrical conductor whether it is in the ground or in a computer. You're just trying to so hard to find the supernatural in everything.
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl I made no argument for religion so please try to put the cop-out words aside. you can discern the functions of copper or whatever as much as you want but the information applied to matter to make it life is always sovereign to the material itself & not restricted to the same law, therefore, supernatural. & quit attacking Jesus, I made no mention of theology. just shows how your personal God-hate can blind you from the facts. get over yourself so you can see some objectivity.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman I dont have "god-hate" and what facts are there? How am I not being objective? I am sick of theists always using man made objects to describe nature. Like your comparison that copper and silicone need intellegent ordinance to be a computor, that has nothing to do with the universe or the human body.
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl you do have God-hate, you wear it on ur sleeves. man-made objects are nature; our creations abide by the same laws as everything else. "nothing to do with the universe" yes it does bc it's the same principle: information comes from awareness, not blind chance. chance isn't a force & the probability for the first cell falling into place by accident=impossible. science left Darwinian superstition behind 5 decades ago but morons continue to push the notion that Hitler was doing good.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman Oh come on. You're so full of shit. I dont hate god or any other imaginary figure, I dont hate bigfoot or Zeus either. Blind chance? Hitler doing good? Sounds like the people you talk to are just as uneducated as you are. None of us atheists believe in accidents, its called improbability. And for simple minded people, when things are tough or complicated and they just dont understand, they think its divine.
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl bigfoot or zeus didn't divide history or predict the modern world system thousands of years in advance. nor did they predict modern scientific discoveries thousands of years ago. bigfoot nor zeus claim to be a mind so please cut the bs im not atheist remember? i see right thru it. "improbability" 1 to the millionth power isn't improbable, it's impossible. "simple minded" Im not the materialist here who believes "wachu see is wachu get." -so smugly confident in ur own self-righteousness.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman What are you talking about? Predicting the modern world system thousand of years in advance? Predicting modern scientific discoveries? You have zero proof of this. Zeus actually did claim to be a mind. You are so brainwashed by religion you really understand nothing. If there is a 1X10 to the 100th, it is still improbable not impossible. Your logic is so backwards. Im smug? You believe in fairy tales and act like im the crazy one!
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl "zero proof of this" and Im the brainwashed one? you're whole atheist faith is based on opinion & personal God-hate. "you really understand nothing" see this is what happens when fallen unregenerate corrupt man try to elevate themselves as god; they develop this superiority complex. they can be completely perfectly backwards in wisdom & still place themselves on a pedestal as if they're really anything at all. yes ur the crazy one. u live under theosophical material illusion.
saintstrawman 7 months ago
@saintstrawman As usual. I gave you a chance to give me proof of anything, from any of your ridiculous claims, and what did you give me? NOTHING, which is because you have zero evidence. I am not trying to elevate myself as god, thats just stupid. To you, education and intellegence, are taboo. You're just so full of shit, you think atheists have a superiority complex? Thats pretty arrogant coming from a theist who knows they are right. To put it nicely you A FUCKING RETARD
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl Why are you asking for proof over youtube? The proof is that you're living and breathing right now. The proof is that the sun came up this morning, and, Lord willing, it'll come up tomorrow morning too. Proof is all around you, you're just too blinded with self-conceit to see it.
SouthCarolinaSon 7 months ago
@SouthCarolinaSon You're just another bible thumping moron. The fact that im living and breathing have nothing to do with a god. Neither does the sun. Your comments sound like they were made by an ignorant goat herder a thousand years ago. We know why the sun comes up every day, and it has nothing to do with any fairy tales. Im not the blind or brainwashed one here, its you guys. There is absolutely zero truth to anything you say.
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl I guess you have all the answers, if you can say with such dogmatic assurance that there is "absolutely zero truth" to anything I say. You are the ignorant one here. When I look on the comments section on videos such as this one, all I see is are people like you criticize someone for their beliefs with frightening hostility. You call people names and tell them that they are wrong and that you have the answers, when you yourself criticize them for even claiming truth.
SouthCarolinaSon 7 months ago
@SouthCarolinaSon I dont have all of the answers, but I know bullshit when I hear it. The only reason that you're getting upset is you dont have any real evidence, or else you would throw it in my face.
MrKGatl 7 months ago
@MrKGatl I have so much evidence, I can't decide what to throw in your face first. You can't know lies until you know the truth.
SouthCarolinaSon 6 months ago
@SouthCarolinaSon Dont hold back. Enlighten me please?
MrKGatl 6 months ago
@MrKGatl "zero evidence" you never asked. if I had no evidence, I wouldn't waste my time. "education and intellegence" no I just think ppl who act like a materialist worldview makes them smarter than everybody else are taboo especially since it's about as retarded as a worm saying that dirt is all that exists because his own brain can't go beyond that. actually, that would be more reasonable since the worm doesn't have the depth of cause-effect reasoning as man. seriously.
saintstrawman 6 months ago
@saintstrawman Are you serious? Your comments are just so dumb im starting to think that you are messing with me. You cant really believe any of the shit that you're writing. And yes I did ask for evidence, obviously reading comprehension is not one of your strong point. Dont worry, I wouldnt expect Forest Gump to get it either.
MrKGatl 6 months ago

@saintstrawman "you're whole atheist faith"
Helge129 6 months ago
@Helge129 "LACK of faith" there's no such thing. all cause-effect reasoning is based on a measure of faith. you can never prove that the building won't collapse on your head in 5 seconds but based on probability, it's reasonable to assume so. that's faith. and to believe that chaos is god & *mind* doesn't even exist is the greatest faith. the atheist cult is about as rational as me saying my computer fell into function by accident with no mind to program the information.
saintstrawman 6 months ago
@saintstrawman No, that is not faith. Faith is to believe in something without any evidence what so ever. Probability isn't strong evidence, but it is credible evidence. A 2000 year old book isn't.
Helge129 6 months ago 26

@Helge129 If you believe that your computer can evolve from a scrap pile with no intelligent pre-ordinance, no intentionality, no purpose whatsoever, you'd better have damn good evidence for it if you want to convince me that's not the greatest faith of all. "A 2000 year old book" written over a period of 1500 years that's scientifically accurate centuries in advance & predicts the outcome of the system thousands of yrs in advance is more evident than chance-motivated evolution.
saintstrawman 6 months ago
@Helge129 The probability of the Bible is equal to an L Ron Hubbard novel. It has no better quality of probability just because it is older, but it's probability does exist...just extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY unlikely...
