@habsalltheway100 i beg to differ. the bands you have listed do have good songs but are not truly rock. rock was truly born in the 80's and early 90's. things brought after were true mockeries of rock. metallica may have been around but they did not deserve to be classified under rock. the things following afterwards varried from punk rock, heavy rock, soft rock, and yes EMO rock. but i stand firm in the belief that rock should be excluded from these titles. theyre nothing like TRUE rock.

welll, just my opinion, all those genres u have listed all have rock in their names soo it means something aha i believe that its all rock and someones definition of what '' true rock'' really means to them varies to person to person, yeaa there are a lot of different styles but i think the whole genres of rock thing is too general, i think rather than judging artists music by their type of sound, people should just enjoy the music for what it is :)
