when i put my droid in my dock the clock and icons are way different from all the others ive seen in reviews. the numbers are much smaller and the icons take up the entire bottom of the screen. any ideas on what might be wrong?

This looks pretty cool but I would never buy a Motorola phone, the phones they make have always been sub-standard. And even though the droid looks pretty nice, it is probably one of the worst android phones (apart from them really crappy cheap ones you can buy.)

But still, I could really see my phone docked as an alarm clock, very nice idea!

Verizon sells back covers for the droid. With this cover on, the droid does not fit inside the media dock. But because it's proximity activated, it can still sit "on top" of it's slot and pick up the media base. (which is annoying that I have to take off the cover to actually charge it on the dock at night)

the only thing i don't like about the media dock is theres no video button right on the front. the slide show is cool, but i wish there was a direct link to videos. cause i do watch alot of videos on it while it's in the dock. i think i'm gonna start using it as an alarm clock.

The Motorola Driod is a billion times better. I have had both. The Eris is nice if you don't do a whole lot on your phone, but, it does not have navigation, let alone FREE navigation. And it is a lot slower. The feel of the Eris is great in the hand, but to type it is relatively hard for anyone with large fingers. MOTO Driod > Eris any day.

There's an app available that allows you to access the multimedia dock mode without being in the dock. The dock, however, looks like a nice accessory particularly for charging on a night stand. I'm wondering if Motorola considered phone covers in their design. Would a cover on the droid compromise its ability to fit in the dock?

All I can say is go to your local Verizon Store to try it out for yourself and see if (You) like it like with all electronics and technology especially new products there might be some errors hopefully not!!! At least you can determine for ( Yourself) if this is the phone for you or not. the touch screen isn't heat sensitive. Like the iphone it works off of electrical current through your fingers. Heat sensitive wouldn't work if your hands were cold no would it.

No. The motorola droid, as of now, is a CDMA version (it is on Verizon). Only GSM versions use simcards (AT&T etc). I am not sure if there will be a GSM version of the phone.
