I DID indicate that it amazes me that blacks are such a part of the Democratic Party, a party whose philosophy and political viewpoints are about as condescending as it can get.

Democrats view blacks as incompetent - and basically say through ALL of their policies that blacks simply can't make it on their own; they need the government's help from cradle to grave. It's sad.

When I was growing up, 'black' was not only a good word, it was the name that black people called themselves. By the time I was in my teens (1970's), the terms 'Negro' and 'colored,' of course, were no longer used and considered divisive.

There's nothing more 'inclusive' about the Democratic Party than there is about the Republican Party. The Republican Party was created during the Civil War - with the hopes of ending slavery; Democrats were AGAINST ending slavery.

As someone who attended two Obama campaigng rallies, I'll you know there is a huge difference in attendees --- there was truly a full spectrum of America at both vs 100% Anglo. Matthews wouldn't have said anything about the # of black people because it wasn't pertinent. (FYI -- I'm a middle-class, middle-aged, educated white guy...there were plenty of "me" in both crowds -- and plenty of A.A. women, Asian kids, and hispanic abuelos...etc).
