This is a slow Eclipse. I personally don't like small cars so I would prefer luxurious sedan instead of a box on springs no regardless of how fast it is. Acura is a very nice car those days. Lexus, Infinity and Acura are not what they were in 90s. Now you can have a car to be equipped with everything as much as Mercedes has or BMW with those Japanese luxury sedans.

Eclipses are not "fast" by any means. My 4x4 Silverado Z71 with a CAI and cat-back exhaust would beat 1st Gen GS-Ts that had cone filters and cat-backs in the 1/4 mile.
And my 3.2TL was faster then my Z71. Beating 240SXs with CAI, header, test pipe, cat-back, ported head, and some 17x7s with nice tires, and a N/A Cobalt SS with a cat-back and a stock Mustang Bullitt.
It is also about the driver not the car. My TL should have never beat the Bullitt but I was a far better driver then him.
It also depends on what you get done on the car. Any car can be fast, just depends on what you do to em. Except on Civics....you always gotta do swaps to be faster on those. Well atleast thats what most owners do.

Same as with the second gen Eclipses/Talons. The GS-T and GS-X were the turbo models that had the 4G63 (the same motor as the Lancer Evolution 8 & 9). The 3ed gen were all FWD and came with either a N/A I4 or a N/A V6. The DSM nutswinger doesn't even know his own cars. What do you drive??

that eclipse is DEFINITELY not turbo...Stock turbo eclipses are capable of running 14 second passes. I ran a 13.6 with in my 2g turbo and all I had back then was exhaust and boost controller and open air filter.

Depending on the TL and the driver of the Eclipse . . no a GS-T won't make up ground on a TL. A crappy driver in a GS-T (or GS-X) won't make up ground on a TL. Obviously the driver of the Eclipse can't launch the car and doesn't have the power to run him down. It is probably a stock Eclipse with an auto and a crappy driver running what looks like a '04+ TL (which comes factory rated at 270hp and 3575 lbs).
Wake up man. You're dreaming! Stock turbo eclipses run mid to low 15s at around 90-95MPH. The TL with automatic already runs sub-15 quarters, which it appears this one is.. had it been the 6 speed, the eclips would have been thoroughly destroyed, as they have been known to run 14.2 and 14.3 1320s.
You can't compare a 2g to a 3g anyway, because the newer cars have smaller turbos and this one was most likely bone stock. Don't know how long you've been racing but you don't seem to know shit.

Or...i can just tell you....Off the showroom floor they came with just over 200hp on a good day and averaged a 16 second quarter mile, going form 0-60 in about 7 seconds. New they sold for $24,000 on average. if you don't believe me, google it. IMO, eclipses are junk, their failed transmissions made the car unbearable to own
Spent probably the last 9 years running around with a few guys who onyl race DSM's and I can say for sure that the Eclipse in this video is a N/A. Even a stock turbo Eclipse runs faster then that.

And, yeah, you guys are right. Stock Talons run about mid 14's. My dad had a 90 talon tsi with a regular 16g turbo, fmic, cold air, and 2 1/2 inch exhaust ran 13.8

Yes the Eclipse/Talons can be made fast just like any other car. Just takes money and knowledge. Maybe instead of looking stuff up on Youtube you should check out this site called Wikipedia or Google. Cause you obviously don't know squat about DSM's.
I've known several people with GS-T's, GS-X's, TSi's, and Evo's.

Eclipses are not "fast" by any means. My 4x4 Silverado Z71 with a CAI and cat-back exhaust would beat 1st Gen GS-Ts that had cone filters and cat-backs in the 1/4 mile.
And my 3.2TL was faster then my Z71. Beating 240SXs with CAI, header, test pipe, cat-back, ported head, and some 17x7s with nice tires, and a N/A Cobalt SS with a cat-back and a stock Mustang Bullitt.
It is also about the driver not the car. My TL should have never beat the Bullitt but I was a far better driver then him.

It also depends on what you get done on the car. Any car can be fast, just depends on what you do to em. Except on Civics....you always gotta do swaps to be faster on those. Well atleast thats what most owners do.

You think a high 14 low 15 second car in the 1/4 is fast?? Seriously?? Cause that is all they run stock. Yes some first gens were FWD. The RS, GS, GS-T were FWD & the GS-X was AWD. Same as with the second gen Eclipses/Talons. The GS-T and GS-X were the turbo models that had the 4G63 (the same motor as the Lancer Evolution 8 & 9). The 3ed gen were all FWD and came with either a N/A I4 or a N/A V6. The DSM nutswinger doesn't even know his own cars. What do you drive??

that eclipse is DEFINITELY not turbo...Stock turbo eclipses are capable of running 14 second passes. I ran a 13.6 with in my 2g turbo and all I had back then was exhaust and boost controller and open air filter.

I know my cars ... it was a simple mistake... i didn't confuse the RSX with the TL... i confused the TSX with the TL (which both start with a T, and the RSX does have the same 2.4L engine as the TSX). you don't have to be such an asshole man, it was a simple mistake, and by now you realize its an understandable one too.

Depending on the TL and the driver of the Eclipse . . no a GS-T won't make up ground on a TL. A crappy driver in a GS-T (or GS-X) won't make up ground on a TL. Obviously the driver of the Eclipse can't launch the car and doesn't have the power to run him down. It is probably a stock Eclipse with an auto and a crappy driver running what looks like a '04+ TL (which comes factory rated at 270hp and 3575 lbs).

Wake up man. You're dreaming! Stock turbo eclipses run mid to low 15s at around 90-95MPH. The TL with automatic already runs sub-15 quarters, which it appears this one is.. had it been the 6 speed, the eclips would have been thoroughly destroyed, as they have been known to run 14.2 and 14.3 1320s.
You can't compare a 2g to a 3g anyway, because the newer cars have smaller turbos and this one was most likely bone stock. Don't know how long you've been racing but you don't seem to know shit.

@Fabian95gst so your're telling me a stock turbo eclipse has a faster ET than a stock STI, and a stock Evo? you might want to google the specs on the boosted eclipses. Or...i can just tell you....Off the showroom floor they came with just over 200hp on a good day and averaged a 16 second quarter mile, going form 0-60 in about 7 seconds. New they sold for $24,000 on average. if you don't believe me, google it. IMO, eclipses are junk, their failed transmissions made the car unbearable to own

Spent probably the last 9 years running around with a few guys who onyl race DSM's and I can say for sure that the Eclipse in this video is a N/A. Even a stock turbo Eclipse runs faster then that.
