  • This video should be titled "how not to hold a rifle."

  • @DerStadtschutz LOL dude, if I were you I would refrain from making bold statements about "how things should be".

  • @spetsnaz600 And why do you say that? let me guess, it has something to do with the cape, right? yeah, cuz that really means anything, and it certainly nullifies the fact that you don't know how the hell to hold a rifle properly. Ever heard of the infamous chicken wing? You're doing it. Just cuz I don't have videos of me shooting guns on youtube doesn't mean I don't know how to hold one. That wasn't a bold statement, by the way. But hey, by all means, continue to hold your rifle incorrectly.

  • @DerStadtschutz Wow guy, way to get defensive! Actually it wasnt the cape, it was the plastic nintendo controller around your neck. So when I need advice on how to hold the Nintendo pistol during duck hunt, I'll be sure to check with you.

  • @spetsnaz600 Far be it from me to try and help people. Apparently you know everything because you have "spetsnaz" in your youtube name. Carry on, oh Master of Rifle Shooting.

  • @DerStadtschutz Yet another bold statement, about my screen name. I've had it for about 14 years now and not because I claim to be one, I just have respect for them and all things military. But that's besides the point. All jokes aside though, if you really wanted to help you would have sent me a private message, or given some actual practical advise. Bashing the video and person in it is not very helpful.

  • @spetsnaz600 One last thing: just because other people besides you do something, that doesn't mean it's the right way to do it. PLENTY of people drive like idiots. Are they right to do so cuz multiple people do it? Hell no. Also, the fact that one plays videogames does not invalidate one's knowledge of things other than videogames, regardless of how much you wish to pretend it does. But you'll do what you do cuz others do it too, which makes it right according to you... Carry on.

  • @DerStadtschutz Ok I see you just like to argue for the sake of being right, so I'm not going to continue this since its pointless. If you don't like my stance, because it doesn't look cool to you, then tough luck, and I really don't care. But don't claim that its somehow wrong/improper/unsafe, because that's non-sense, and that's what makes your statements bold. In shooting, especially target shooting, what counts is the shooter being comfortable, and ability to hit the target.

  • @DerStadtschutz If you're going to tell me that a shooter using a "chicken wing" stance will have less accuracy with a semiautomatic weapon then a person who holds the elbow to the body, then its just a straight up lie. This is not a bad habit, its a shooting technique (yes there is more than one). I heard that modern military teaches to hold elbow to body, but that doesn't mean that another way is wrong and is for idiots.

  • @DerStadtschutz Again, look at the way biathlon athletes fire their rifles. Many use the chicken wing stance, and in that sport they have to be dead precise. Again, I'm not in a combat zone clearing a house in tight space. I am in a back yard shooting cans. There is nothing wrong with this stance. Anyone who says so is just trying to show off. There are standard safety/proper technique rules that apply at all shooting ranges. Find me one that says "No chicken wing" stances.

  • @DerStadtschutz And just so you know (although this is probably a waste of time), there is nothing wrong with holding a rifle this way, unless you're moving through tight quarters. The only wrong way to hold a rifle during casual shooting is NOT pointing it in a safe direction, or bump firing (looks cool, but unsafe). The term "chicken wing" is only popular with moron trolls that have never seen a gun outside of Call of Duty. Back in the day most shooters held rifles this way. Look at biathlon.

  • @spetsnaz600 Okay, here's "practical advice." Don't hold the gun with your arm sticking out like that. As for COD, I hate that game, and it's hilarious how anytime someone doesn't agree with someone else on anything related to military or firearms, they bring up that game.

Actually, I wasn't getting defensive. I figured since everyone else trying to invalidate anything I say mentions the cape, that's what you were referring to. Pointing out the controller isn't much different.

  • @spetsnaz600 Oh, and also, that whole chicken wing thing has been around a lot longer than call of duty, so try again. There are plenty of other unsafe things you can do besides point a gun at someone.

Would you care to elaborate on exactly what makes any of my statements "bold?"

And one more thing, that's not a five round "clip" your saiga has. It's a MAGAZINE. A (stripper)CLIP is what they used to load multiple rounds into a rifle that has no magazine, as opposed to loading them one by one.

  • if i had a quarter for every pixel in this vid i would have a dollar

  • @TheDIGICOPY77 lol, and if I had wheels I'd be a wagon

  • Lean that shoulder into the gun:)

  • So how is it compared to the SKS?

  • @Ulysses1994XF04 dominates it. you just need special megs (surefire) or a bullet guide

  • @mrpops09

Indeed, I got one of my own a few months back and it totally beats my Chinese PLA SKS. Changed out the handguard with the Hogue overmolded one, picked up a 4x POSP scope and a Bushnell TRS-25 for it.

  • My next gun!!! I can't wait!!!

  • That's a cute little 5 round clip he's got. Most live in a blue state.

  • a good shooting stance comes naturally to me. I dont know about everyone else.LOL>.

  • can u get pistol grips on these rifles?

  • Yes, you just need to modify the trigger positioning and have it moved forward to allow enough space for the pistol grip

  • @spetsnaz600 cool, thanks

  • @conn0412 You will need to drill out the current rivets holding the trigger and its inner workings in place, and then you have to move it forward and drill new rivet holes. To fully convert a saiga will take a first timer just a few hours.

  • At no point, past or present, has that shirt ever been fashionable.

  • Military clothing was never exactly about fashion, unless its a parade uniform...which this clearly is not.

  • @spetsnaz600 So you know, I like the shirt. In fact, I have one of those (although it's pretty poor quality). I use it for pirate costumes :D

  • @DDTea lol, whatever works

  • @delciemcwhoopie

Talking about fashion on a gun video? You have to be gay. Right?

  • man cant wait to shoot mines when i go camp

  • wheres waldo? lmao

  • Is there wooden furniture available for this rifle?

  • There is, but I dont know if you can buy it separately. I know for a fact that they make those with wooden stock and front grip part, but I've never seen one for sale in the US, they must be very rare here.

  • The things i would give to be able to shoot guns off my back porch...

  • Yo how much did this rifle cost and how old do you have to be to purchase it. IM 18 and I really would like to get one. And no i'm not a stupid kid that wants guns I know how to handle them, i have been around guns my whole life.

  • It was about $250 at the time, but now it will probably be around $400. How old you have to be depends on where you live, look up gun laws in your state/city.

  • Hey man I got a stock Saiga 7.62 and 2 mosin nagants M38 and a M44 love these Russian weapons! you cant beat em for what little bucks they cost!

  • Nice. Totally agree.

  • wie viel kostes das?

    russland spetsnaz

  • wow the shirt bro are you going for the sailor contest? lol hope you win great rifle and please put the chicken wing down might get knocked off lol great vid

  • how much did you pay for it

  • It was purchased for about $250 at the time, around June 2008.

  • he looks like an evil candy cane

  • is that a mosin nagant laying over there. I have one, and they're great rifles.

  • Yes it is. Check out my other video.

  • So thats where Waldo went...

  • lol, i hate you

  • lol, im actually wearing ear plugs, so the ears are fine. Ye its a really nice all around rifle, too bad it has become so damn expensive in the last 6 months.

  • I know! I'm trying to find one in 308 for under $500- Gunbroker has spit in my face. XD

Did you convert your's or plan to convert it? If so post another vid... and tell me how much it cost ya, lol

  • Its my friend's gun, but hes not planning to convert it as far as I know.

  • ive seen ones online for under 400 i know thats more then they used to be but still alot cheaper then the ars and aks. i heard there better then an ak also.

  • is that a mosin-nagant on the bottom right?

  • Yes it is. There is a video of me firing it, look through my other vids.

  • i just got one today shoots great. i got a box of wolf 20 rounds for $6

  • How much is the ammunition for that gun and caliber?

  • Roughly 25 cents per round if you want non-corrosive. You can probably find military surplus for cheaper but then you will need to clean the gun every time after shooting. The ammo I'm using in the video is 7.62x39 Brown Bear brand, look it up.

  • ight thanks man

  • Yea I just look it all up. Ammo comes out to be between 21 cents and a quarter per round. This seems like the rifle i want, cheap but great quality. Did yours come with the 5 round mag?

  • This is actually my friend's rifle, and it originally comes with a 10 round mag, but he told the people at the store to keep it because in new york city you cant have a rifle/shotgun with a clip of more than 5 rounds.

  • That's a really lame law.

  • Just one of many.

  • i am trying to buy one of these but so many places are out of stock, anybody know a site?

  • Try Gunbroker. Its like ebay, but only for guns. I've used it before.

  • In fact, the rifle in the video was purchased from there.

  • I wish I could shoot off my back porch. :( Well, maybe if I did it would keep those damn kids out of the yard for a while. :D

  • haha burn that shirt! but nice gun i got a real simalar version.

  • Get a bigger magazine!

(use surefire brand, they are expensive but always work in saigas, no failures)

Also get a pistol grip stock!

  • That would be nice. Unfortunately I live in New York City where you are not allowed to have a semi automatic weapon with a magazine capacity of greater than 5 rounds. Same applies to pistol grips, folding stocks, bayonet lugs, and flash suppressors. If you have those parts on your gun, it is considered an assault weapon and therefore illegal.

  • I know how you feel, i too live in the city (far rockaway). Can you keep that particular rifle in the city? because i'm interested in getting one.

  • No, you cannot keep this rifle legally within NYC limits. The rifle that I am shooting is actually my friend's and is kept in Pennsylvania. He tried registering it with the NYPD (like you're supposed to by law) but was denied. The reason was that it is an "AK type" rifle, which police commisioner's office sees as an assault weapon, even though it does not have any features that would consider it an assault weapon by the NY law, but they didnt want to hear it. Hope this is of any help to you.

  • God dammit. I'm beginning to hate this place more and more. Thanx. NYPD...bunch of overdue abortions!

  • The closest thing to Saiga that you can probably own is Ruger Mini-30. It is a semi-automatic rifle that fires 7.62x39mm ammo, just like the AK-47/AKM. Its not on their list of banned guns, so in theory it should be ok. But who knows. I would still call them first and ask.

  • Thanx, i called and i briefly spoke to some lady who had no idea what i was talking about even when i broke it down in layman's terms. That dumb broad (who works in the rifle/shotgun permit division and knows NOTHING about guns OR rifles) switched me to a supervisor who was WAYYYYYY far from helpful, only telling me that they give me a list of what i CAN'T have...repeat, what i CAN'T have...after i submit my application...which will be after the holiday. New York's Finest...FOR SHIT!

  • Oh yea, I should have warned you about that. The ladies there know as much about guns as I do about brain surgery (nothing). One time I asked what is the shortest barrel i can have on my rifle, they replied "5 mm", after 3 minutes of thinking...

  • Ye, they will not tell you what you can have, because they dont want to be responsible for anything. My friend asked if Saiga is ok to own, they said they cannot tell him, but then when he bought it they said that he has to get rid of it.

  • Go to New York City gov website and type "rifle" in the search bar. It will give you a link to the application, which includes a list of the banned guns. Good luck!

  • Well i do know you can have it in long island (if you can get the distributor to ship it to a store) and upstate. My ex is in long island and i'm TRYING to ask her if i could keep it at her place...i would if she answered the damn phone once in a while. Other than that i have nobody else.

  • Get the ability to not tell people what to do!

  • spetznaz600 ur gay

  • To clear, first remove mag, then open action to verify no cartridge.

  • Whats the difference?
