when i was a little child my mom would sing these songs too me. i love tht so much. this kind of music is what i grew up listening to even though i'm 15 these songs have a great impact on my life.
Love to see Emmy Lou start dancing at 3:05 when Superstar Lindley breaks into the outro... Once upon a time, the great Lindley signed and played the Might ROOtar after his Milwaukee concert. The autograph wore off with age, but his magic never will.
@irishmando1 Ry on slide was a good guess as he played on the album version. However it is Steve Fishell, long time member of Emmylou's Hot Band, playing slide on this clip.
Linda is the best singer that has ever lived....emmy is an awesome singer who finds great songs and sings the hell out of them...dolly has a pretty voice and big boobs and sounds like a warbled old grandma but put her with Linda and Emmy...pure magic...hell Linda makes everybody sound good.
i admire the humble way they stand there while they are good for millions of records sold! and that guitar part is just awesome! but i wanted to say my respect to the ukelele player who with such a small instrument can make such an impact on the song. In short even if country isnt ur thing its a masterpiece by 3 superstars
This trio do a beautiful job on this old tune...Linda, Dolly and Emmylou sound great together as the angelic harmonies on this albun show. Taking a look in the background...I notice David Lindley playing in the background...just behind Dolly. He's one pretty awesome musician to have behind you. Great song...great album.
@1000Magicians I know this is an old post... but this (To Know Him is to Love Him) is also one of my all time fave melodies. Loved The Teddy Bears version... but this is killer too!! Cheers! ~Kennedi KIng
Wow, is all I can say.Liked them then , still do now when we all are grey and much older. How long is it. 30 years plus.

@32laura So what if it is not a trio? It would sound better without Dolly, who's voice is like a cartoon character.

@infinera06 I'm just kidding, because I really like Dolly.

They are amazing!! I didn't realize that David Lindley played with them as well. What a nice addition.

Very nice, but I wish Dolly could resist embroidering the tune with her accidentals.

Linda really slimmed down for this tour. She looks more like the tiny girls with the big voice than she has for years!

David Lindley, Mark O'Connor on mandolin, Leland Sklar on bass, and I believe Ry Cooder on slide -- this is a serious lineup

It was actually written by Phil Spector and was a huge hit in 1958 for his trio The Teddy Bears ; one of my all time favourite 'pop' records
