i think Thoughts of a dying athiest, Citizen Erased and Butterflies and Hurricanes if i had to pick, would be MUSE's 3 Masterpieces, they are epic from start to end perfect in almost everyway
Out of respect for Dom's dad. He passed away backstage during the song at Glastonbury 04, which is ironically called 'Citizen Erased'. I'm surprised not many people know this.
Where did you get this? Dom's dad died shortly after they came off stage. That's why Stockholm Syndrome was left off the Absolution Tour DVD (they ended the gig with it, but the DVD ends with Blackout.)
There wasn't much of a reason given for leaving CE off the DVD, but the best theory is that Take A Bow was played as an instrumental directly after it and they didn't want to release it as it was going to appear on BH&R.
What's with all the thumbs down?! I thought it was interesting that he changed the lyrics, and thought I'd point it out, because he hardly ever does it! What was the reason for the thumbs down??
I think I'll have to agree with joshthemusemole, this is not only the best Muse song ever; but quite possibly one of, if not the, best song ever. It has so many layers, is beautiful as well as dark, quite technical at times, oustanding lyrics, and has brought me on the verge of tears on more than one occassion...Yes, BEST SONG....EVER.

Indeed you are right. I was furious when CE wasn't on Haarp. But I do like it how they rarely play it. It serves as a real treat when they do.

YES! im so glad to hear that mrogan is playing some synth over the back of the choruses, makes it sound sooooo much better!!!

The guitar he uses for this song is actualy second hand
it was build originally for a jazz player but he diddnt want it.
As of yet this guitar is only used for this track but it may make a reappearance on The Resistance

i havent seen that guitar being used live since like,2001/2!
his best guitar, sound wise. i think.
JamesCmuse 3 years ago
He used it during HAARP when he was playing this....it think at least the guitar looks like this one.
Jaggijughurtti 3 years ago
He only uses this guitar for playing this song only.
guitarsympathy 2 years ago
its a 7 string, instead of a usual 6 string,
the extra string allows him to have that deep sound in the drop tunings for this song
Jimirocks 2 years ago
again i havent seen it being used, i wasnt at haarp and it wasnt on the dvd, i was just living in the past i suppose lol
