i love eating whale sharks. i think you should stop harrasing the fisherman trying to make an honest living. Bluefin tuna are in much more trouble than whale sharks, yet nothing is done to stop that. some people are just rediculos. Go whale shark fisherman!!!
Great video. I was a little confused by what you meant with the "predator or prey" line. The predator part I get, but prey, in this case, seems poorly used.
Nevertheless, the video was good, and did a good job of not over-sensationalizing things with too many bloody parts and such for shock value.
Well, humans are always thought of as "prey" where sharks are concerned. But since we're on the road to wiping them all out, we really are the apex predators in this case.
But thanks for the comments....and glad you you got the overall message.
Thanks! I understand that the biggest culprits are the big fishing vessels run by the bigtime mercenary businessmen, and not so much the small-time fishermen, though they can and do inflict damage if their activities go unnoticed. Education of the fishermen is probably key to the long-term sustenance of these beautiful creatures. But it's easier said than done as it involves reshaping their livelihood. At least some agencies are making good progress in this area.
Glad ya liked it funkyfatfish! There is another documentary recently produced by Rebecca Chen of ACAP to raise awareness about whale sharks in Taiwan. Will try to get the url for ya.
Imagine how much better off the world would be without humans!
