that rectangular connector is a molex connecter. it's for connecting all of the peripherals in a computer like fans, and IDE optical and hard disk drives.

I'm working on mine its a 700 watt cool master hope i can get 40+ amps from it. Not really sure what to do with the brown, purple wires. Anyways i hope to finish it today.
If its the coolermaster UCP 700, then it will do 76A on the 12V alone. Those are independantly regulated, too, so it dosen't effect the other rails. With a cheaper psu like the one in this video that looks like a leadman built, not atng, they have group regulation which makes the other rails go up in voltage when one rail is used heavily.
ummm, why use a cheapo super happy giggle power psu that is a gutless wonder and usually is not capable of the advertised specs? The style of heatsink in there makes me thing it is a ATNG built unit, which can be good (the make rosewill's and older antecs,) but use bad capacitors and those heatsinks are not adequate enough to cool the mosfets.

the switch shuts supply voltage off on power supplies that have them. You can not turn the power supply on without having it hooked to a computer unless you short two wires together like he did here. Plus aftermarked supplies that have LEDs in them cost 2x as much. He saved money.

I'm not too sure if you're aware ofthis or not, ... but they sell PSUs with fans and leds inside them, and they have on/off switchs too...
personally mine is painted blue, with 3 fans that are hooked up to a speed conotrller and has blue leds inside. 550watts.
