Ok..it is late...but somehow I have to hear this song again and again...the deep sadness is palpable...Booker can stir up feelings as no artist I have ever heard.
Hmmmm...I have got to hear some real music! Perhaps I can put in for a field trip. lol Then everyone can enjoy! Be assured that I will be playing and dancing around the house (...and not doing much work!!) thanks to your great postings. Who knows, I feel a "road trip" coming on...but probably not until late May. You and James are keeping me very happy--without a doubt the students will appreciate that once the Spring term begins.
Once again, I can only thank you for all of the postings. You have truly enriched You Tube. To think that I was doing graduate work at Baylor in the mid-60s and may have caught a live performance...Merry Christmas to you as well. Next year, I have got to get to New Orleans for December!!
@MultiKZB Well, Jazz Fest is way more fun but I think it just misses Spring Break. No matter, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Tomorrow will be my last day of posting for the year. I have tons of files that need to be put in order so, gonna do some cleaning. Will be back in early January.
@MultiKZB I agree. It is so sad we lost him so early on. I've had accomplished musicians tell me that on some songs, he does the "impossible things" with the piano. For me, every time I hear a song by him, it evokes an emotion that I cannot explain. It may just be psychosomatic. Thanks for your comments and have a very safe and happy holiday!
Spellbinding doesn't happen often...but, here it is!
Mr. Booker makes it happen.

No words could adequately describe the beauty of this song.
