  • ACC's #14 song of '82. Born William Edwin Bruce. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week!

  • i wish country western music was strong now like it was in 1982...now im going on 40 with the only hope for this style of REAL country is george strait...

  • my ex will learn down the road between the ages 25-30 years old that I was the best break that his heart ever had.Its in my blood to be a good girl he will pay in the long run because the one he's got don't stay home half the time Amber Michelle Patterson.Sorry for your loss Josh I can't help you now.

  • Ed Bruce is one of my all time favorites, and this is one his of best(all of his are so great, it's hard to pick the best, really).

  • 1982??? Really?? Seems older. Oh well guess thats what happens when you get old.

  • Heard this for the first today at 20 years old. I love it!

  • Ed Bruce's lone number one single in March of 1982, some 30 years after his debut single in the 50's. That's actually a notable record for the longest span between an artist's debut single and number one record.

  • therell only be one and only one ed bruce What a beautiful song

  • This is REAL country music.

I wish country music of today sounded like the country music of the 1980's. Today's country music is CRAP.

  • @simwrangler I was spinning vinyl in the 80s, exactly when Ed Bruce was on the air with this and other songs. Honestly, that's what they said back then about the country of the 80s...how it was crap compared to "real" country from the 60s and 70s! Honestly, it will always be that way. Still, I wish there were more Ed Bruce, Don Williams and Vern Gosdin type artists and fewer of "Big and Rich", Gretchen Wilson and the morons trying to bring rap into country. What a travesty!

  • @cdbiholdings If those same people who thought 80's country was crap hear today's country music, I guarrantee they would rather listen the 80's country. Today's country doesn't even have the steel guitars or fiddles in it. It doesn't even have that twang in it anymore.

  • Dedicated to my wife Fumiko after 50 great years. Here's t the next 50. Thanks a bunch Ed!

  • #1 ON BILLBOARD COUNTRY CHART: MARCH 6, 1982..... 29 YEARS AGO!!!......... ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRY SONGS EVER.

  • Long live real cowboys and their ways.

  • This is one of my all time favorites. I thought it was Don Williams the first time I heard this. Man, this is truly a classic! Ed Bruce and Don Williams are the greatest!

  • Wow. Thanks for this one. Turly Classic Country from a class act! 1 o'the greatest songs ever! I recall 2-steppin' w/my fiance to this (now wife of 27 years) back in the 80's. As I worked @ Graham's in OKC, half of us bouncers& the bartenderesses would grab our belt buckles & air dance to certain songs & this was one of them. You just couldn't keep your feet still. Mr.Bruce is 1 of my all-time fav.s. With his immense talent, it's just good he got air play & was not ignored like Chris LeDoux.

  • Alberta Lady-Great music and what a voice,what a song.

  • this was my grandfathers song to my grandma and he would play this song always and now he is dead and this song reminds me of hi so thank you for posting this

  • Occasionally, Ed felt he had to look for outside material. This was 1 of 'em. Written by Randy Hatch and Wayland Holyfield. Hit #1 in Billboard, 3-6-82. God bless!

  • in my opinion, this is one of the greatest country songs of all time. it is truly overlooked. ed bruce had a great voice, he ranks up there with don williams as the two most underrated country artists of all time. it's such a shame. thanks for posting this song.

  • @greatgaroo coincidentally, wayland holyfield who wrote this wrote many of don williams ' songs, that why it feels like a don williams song....

  • I know this Woman! In spite of myself, she fought all the way, to bring me back to life!!! I Thank God for her. I Thank her, for Loving me! Thank You, for posting this clip. Will
