Love the music, graphics n actions in this...i wonder why did they kill off the lizard...did they expect this series at MTV to end? TAS in the 90's was the benchmark but all the other ones ie. This one, wasn't bad....it was more late teen/young adult catered....as well as spidey unlimited...again who was cancelled after 1 season....the spectacular spidey is a little on the young child side...still good... but so far only 2 seasons...

@xtragel It was canceled because MTV could not afford the budget anymore. Lizard was supposed to come back in Season 2.

Parker was living a normal, but miserable life without Spider-Man. The Lizard came back and hurt Harry bad, after Conners escaped from a morgue, where his tissue was being reproduced while in the freezer. Parker would pretend to attempt suicide by jumping off a river. He would later retrieve his Spidey suit from the bottom and reemerge claiming Spidey saved him.

And then, Spidey went out and to fight Connors. Lizard would claw Parker's face and tear off most of the mask. Parker would comfort Lizard as he reforms into connors, only to jump off the building when realizing all that he has done to Parker. Peter goes back home and the police are at his door. They find the scars on his face and assume he is still suicidal. Out of concern, a hospitalized Harry gets Peter on suicide watch for the rest of the season, making his vigilante life harder.

I had a friend who did german dubbing for several animations, and he visited the renamed company that developed this series. Before he left America, he had dinner with one of the script editors and had a brief date with the guy's sister. A third season would have appeared after the second Spider-man movie came out, and if the budget allowed it, two seasons before the third movie could have happened.

It is sadly out of business now, though. They did some animation for another show on Spike TV I think, but I don't remember. They kind of branched off and became independent industries or joined others. Some of animators are now making the IronMan series on Nick.

Seriously, this would have been the greatest show in the world if it continued. I especially wanted to see the second season, just to see Peter living with a scarred face.

yeah i've seen some part of the new iron boy series lol. He's not really iron man.

This spiderman had a lot to work against since TAS in the 90's set the bar really high so they should've delayed this one. I think it would've done better if they did bcuz SPIDEY UNLIMITED suffered the same fate, which is lame...It owuld be awesome to see how Peters life would be at least til his spider healing abilities recovers the scar, and I liked how this one didn't do web shooters. :)

Indeed, TAS was really one of the best cartoons of the 90's.

Spidey Unlimited as awesome, but just couldn't keep up with the popularity of the TAS. Such a shame. Both of these shows had a great new idea and new concept for the webhead.

Indeed, I never liked the web shooters for a serious Spider-man. I always liked Mutant Spidey. In fact, I remember X-Men being mentioned in this show.

Oh yeah! very good memory...thanks for joggin mines... I loved how he correlated all his problems with every other super hero...oh and how he came to a stop on the light pole hanging upside down...This lizard was a pretty good episode since the last one in 90's was a little too humanoid down the road.... this actually gave him more of an animalistic attitude...and more reptalian/wild...

@xtragel Yeah, Peter openly mentions his differences from most superheroes the most do not notice. Peter is not like most superheroes, because he has much more things in his life to worry about.

They wanted the Lizard to be a character that was hard to sympathize with, because he was basically supposed to ruin Peter's life even more so in Season 2. Lots of villians from the first season were supposed to return.
