For clarification, there was no low speed chase in a parking lot. When the photographer rightly challenged our officer, she called for more experienced backup. The photographer left before they arrived and went to a parking lot within sight of our research facilities. Monsanto, like most tech companies, has concerns with industrial spying. Security went into the parking to obtain the license number. Once obtained, security informed the local police department of the incident and our concern.
Watch the video again. There was a low-speed chase in the church parking lot. Its on tape. Where does Monsanto come off conducting an off-property search and pursuit, anyway? FYI, the real police agreed Monsanto overstepped the bounds. The videographer was in plain view. Any security professional, indeed anyone with common sense, would know a claim of concern about industrial spying is ridiculous. This is Monsanto caught in the act of being Monsanto.

Clouseau didn't know it was the videographer's car, why was he pursuing it in circles? The church is visible on the video. She should not have told the photographer that he could not photograph Monsanto from the sidewalk. Monsanto policy regarding photography of our premises follows the Photographers Rights document ,which accurately states the fact that you can photograph just about anything from public property.
