Shayam (actor) was a native of Rawalpindi. Her mother died in his childhood. His father remarried. In early days of his career he was financially hard pressed as he had to support his stepmother and step brothers & sister. He married a woman called Mumtaz Qureshi ( commonly called Taji ). He had two children with this woman. It is worth mentioning that a Pakistani TV actress and producer Sahira Kazmi( wife of Rahat Kazmi also a TV actor), is daughter of Shayam. The other child was a boy.

@cvilized Unfortunately I cannot trace the page where you made query on my comments on Shyam and his children. Sahira Kazmi's parentage was kept a closely guarded secret for obvious reasons. It was in late sixties or seventies when she became famous TV actress and later producer/director that information started trickling about her origins. She was of course born in mid 1940's and had a younger brother. About Jameel and his children Faraz or Tabbu, it is not in my knowledge.

Dillagi means something close to infatuation+flirtation-- distinguished from dil ka lagana, which is closer to the English expression" to love." So the line " Nahin dil ka lagaana koi dillagi" means "loving someone can not be as superficial or cavalier as flirting."
