Now... I had heard from a friend who plays harp, that you don't use your pinky finger. Is this just something you do or were you taught to use your pinky finger?

I don't use my little fingers. I am using my 4th and the pinky just moves at the same time!

You are correct - they aren't used on the harp. I think it'd be physically impossible as they are so much shorter and weaker.

You play very well. I have to speak up for little fingers though. Mine works just as hard as the others on my guitar even tho it's short :-)

I learnt it aurally when I was on a harp course on The Isle of Lewis. It is a lullaby from the Outer Hebrides and it is a beautiful melody.
