get the fundamentals first.... understand API's, packages, etc... in a programming class... then come here... make a couple of simple hello word apps first... then come here... the things he's explaining, you must have some understanding of Android programming... android.com
This is very good video looking nice & attractive. Thanks for sharing & posting this video.I really liked your video youtube can be a great asset for you.It is very informative for those users who want to know about Android .
@Appfyr what does that have to do with anything? i'm a developer, and i don't know everything, about everything. if you have to read a book before understanding a "beginner's guide", that would make the guide intermediate.
@powerhousephg If your just started with android, its not that important to understand every little facette of this video. I also assume you dont understand the few classes he does mention but it doesent matter. The basic concepts and models he explains are important.
jesus christ. ever "beginner" android video "assumes that we already know android". how do u go from a beginner video to developing apps? #thx4nothing
anyone know a good place to start with this stuff as far as tutorials in programming, not just search box results but personal exp with something that helped them get started in java?
@8:14: "In reality, you have between 1 and 200 milliseconds before your users are going to start thinking that your application is laggy"
Wow - those users must be really impatient if they get annoyed with 1 ms. iOS often makes me wait upwards of 10 seconds. I do notice Android runs much faster for me, but I think 20 ms should be ok. I'm sure many OSs even have a small delay to detect double-clicking.
android need to work on a couple of things BATTERY, THERE OWN "ITUNES" FOR MUSIC VIDEOS, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY APPS APPS APPS APPS GAMES GAMES GAMES, AND WORK ON THE ANDROID MARKET MAKE IT CLEANER
not really a beginner's guide. It seems like it's more "tips for good programming" for novice android developers. Was hoping for more info about actually 'Beginning' android development, ie: setting up the environment and working within the IDE to create a first application.
@krophiquon download eclipse, install ADV plugin via eclipse, download the sdk version you're planing to use, google for a hello world example or the more complex notepad example and you're done.
@krophiquon check out developer.android.com, they'll get you started with setting up your path, installing Android SDK into Eclipse, and some basic apps.
@krophiquon Considering the people in that keynote flew from all over the world and paid to get in I assume they werent newbies who hadn't done a hello world app.. their priorities were probably different
@krophiquon you don't really need a "setting up environment and working within the IDE"-guide with the outstanding documentation available in the android developers guide. developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html
"And before I get started, I would like all of you know that I need subtitles for all you dumb people who need my professional help... Wow... How many of you people are dumb?"
