  • @IwillKillYourCereal : This was an awesome episode. One of my favorite to watch. I laughed my head off when I saw these people trying to grab the ostrich. The birds are huge. You have to be bloody stupid to catch them by hand.

  • "I forgot the bird!" Never forget the bird. Always remember... the bird is the word.

    "I got a wing and a PRAYER"

  • Shizzle in the hizzle,

  • I think the ranchers did a good job being firm, but kind. Good bosses.

  • Many guys like ostrich's meat. They say that meat is healthy...yes, maybe is healthy, but it's surely not healthy for the ostrichs themselves...think about that guys, go veg!

  • @666GothicLord666 STFU Slacktivist. Don't like it? Don't watch the video.

  • @RingshadowCat You don't know me, so you cannot call me slacktivist...I watch whatever I want man, even the videos I don't like. If you run from what you dislike, you will always be an unexperienced man. However this is a right place where I can try to share my feelings with others. Moral of the story: FUCK!

  • i wonder how long it'll be before Ostrich meat is main stream and these animals are treat like shit just like most other livestock. ATM these guys have it good, it seems!

  • Fuck man, no ostrich farm for me!

  • Studies has show there's only one good way to get an ostrich... Gysahl Greens!

  • @ZodiacBraveG That's the Chocobo, not the Ostrich XD

  • "Oh crap, there's a surprise in my pants."

I LOVE IT WHEN MIKE POOS HIMSELF :p

  • 2:36 wow I can really run. I like how he calls me "Big boy"

  • This is by far the best episode this show has ever done. LMAO @ "what a move that was."

  • I'd be good at this. I aint afraid of no bird! I fight geese, and they are way meaner than an ostrich.

  • Damn I miss this place. I worked there at O.k. corral briefly. Backbreaking work that I woulda done for free.

  • if someone walked in and overhears you while you were watching 5:45 to 6:40, they would think you were watching some kind of porn or something.

  • douche didn't do it first!!

  • Mike is a natural. This episode is one of my favorites because Doug and Steve are also so funny.

  • CRAP- I GOT A SURPRISE IN MY PANTS! - hahahahahaha

  • omg ostriches are soo cool

  • damn nature u scary

  • One of the most amusing Dirty Jobs episodes to date, in my opinion.

  • It's like farming bloody velociraptors!

  • Ostriches are friggin weird animals... with their long necks... flgdkjsfg

  • put ur head down can u kick me ?

  • PETA freaks suck

  • Seriously, this is animal cruelty!

First of all, it's NOT RIGHT to force wild animals to live on farms.

Secondly, if they really really have to do it, FIND SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

Look how scared and frustrated those ostriches are!

And can't believe some people find it funny!

  • @luvjam2012 Sheesh, chill. These aren't wild, they're domestically born and raised for consumption. Domesticated? Not hardly, but trust me a cow will trample you too if they get a chance (and pigs will in fact eat people without a second thought). Besides these birds are obviously in good health. Don't like it? Don't eat ostrich.

  • @RingshadowCat

But still, it is NOT RIGHT to raise animals for consumption. Men can never provide a better home than nature for them, and if someone thinks they don't feel the difference because they've been living inside the fences since they're born, that doesn't make the whole imprisoning other animals to satisfy our needs right. They may have never enjoyed freedom but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be free. Also, living inside fences is not a healthy environment.

  • @luvjam2012 Oh please. Ostrich is great meat and these animals are healthy, and in case you didn't notice, still very dangerous to handle. They'll live their entire lives pampered.

Also, unless you are a doctor or dietitian familiar with someone's health and nutritional needs, you really shouldn't criticize someone's diet. Period. It's health related and PRIVATE. Getting on youtube and whining helplessly about the cruelty done to obviously well cared for animals is slacktivism. Grow up.

  • Comment removed

  • @RingshadowCat this isnt cruel at all. If you want cruety done to an Ostrich watch Africa blood and guts. And you see these people ripping the feathers out of an Ostrich and worse neck snapping of them. I felt sick seeing that.

  • @flatcapman Oh, I agree. What I meant was, the "cruelty" that the person I was replying to was implying. Not, you know, reality.

  • @RingshadowCat That person hasnt seen the injuries an Ostrich is capable of doing to a person

  • @RingshadowCat You're right--whining helplessly online about animal abuse is slacktivism. That's why plenty of people are fighting against it in the real world.

  • @RingshadowCat I agree they dont appear to be abused times have changed since 1985

  • @RingshadowCat The only cruelty here was letting Mike catch the ostriches lol ;)

  • @RingshadowCat Seriously? You can EAT ostrich?! I didn't know that! I always thought it was kinda illegal or something to eat ostrich, that and the fact that the question of exactly HOW to cook an ostrich in a small oven or grill ponders the minds! ^^;

  • @CooperGal24 Not at all. Ostrich isn't exactly a common meat but yeah, it's a good lean red meat. Delicious but can be hard to make hamburgers out of (because it's so lean). The eggs are like chicken eggs in flavor, just huge and require either a mallet or a drill to open.

It's kind of up there with buffalo or beefalo. Quite edible and delicious when you can get it.

  • @RingshadowCat ^^; Shee! If we ever run out of meat, least we have two different subsitute meats! Although it'll be REALLY hard to...Ya know, cut them into portions. I'll stick to chicken and beef thanks.

  • @luvjam2012 Given the size of human population, in order to survive with necessary amounts of iron and protein on a vegetarian diet, certain vegetables and legumes (soy, nuts) would need to be produced on farmland we simply don't have space for. In order to accommodate for this lack of space, GMOs would be necessary. Said GMOs would be detrimental to the animals we had left to the wild. If you want to sacrifice humans for animals, feel free to get in line... I'll be waiting here. With a fork.

  • @luvjam2012 BULLSHIT man you rasise CHICKENS same thing

  • @luvjam2012 Being a really dumb bird in the wild is an even more unhealthy environment. Imagine they were being chased by a predator, they would be too stupid to think of what to do next. And why the hell did you watch this video anyways? If you don't like seeing how you get your food, then don't watch the video. Plain and simple.

  • @RingshadowCat What are you, Troy McClure? Cows will trample you if you get the chance and pigs will eat people without a second thought?? Jesus you've clearly never been around a real animal if you consider these gentle domestic creatures a real threat.

  • @OonaCanute Hah. I lived in Kansas twelve years and one of my best friends had a family farm. TRUST ME, pigs are MEAN bastards and WILL eat you if they're hungry enough. And cows WILL flatten anything in their way during a stampede, including people. There is NOTHING habitually gentle about farm animals and any actual farmer will tell you that.

And again, if you want to help animals, go help the ASPCA or donate to Best Friends Animal Shelter. Bitching on youtube just makes you look like a twit.

  • @RingshadowCat Better yet, eat people! :D lol...did you know pigs turn cannibals? When I found that out, I thought fuck...it goes to show you how cruel humans are...Honestly, ofcourse animals can get dangerous, even farm type ones. But the most dangerous of all...humans. I'd rather be me than a cow being sent to the slaughter.

  • @Missrainbowmuffin ...what? Are you seriously trying to logic that "people are mean so we shouldn't eat animals"? Or.. what. I'm really not sure what your intended point is here. Elucidate?

  • @RingshadowCat No, if you check out my comments you would see I am a mixed type! I know there are good and bad (bad terms to use but you get my point) types of farming and ways of handling animals. But I was just kinda pointing out how humans are far more dangerous in terms of the scale of damage we cause...thats why I said i would rather be human than a cow...for obvious reasons...then again this can be turned against me easily. Well my point is theres room for improvement I guess, I derped.lol

  • @luvjam2012 trust me I didnt laugh but they didnt abuse my ancesters

  • @luvjam2012 "The strongest survive." It's a fact, since... well... weak ones die...

It's a human technique to survive to domesticate animals, as it is an usefull and easy source of food.

Also, would you stop eating please? Vegetables have feelings too. I mean, they're plants, but they breathe, need water and food too. They just can't scream to you "I'M HURT GODDAMNIT!".

    Just because an anima--wait...

    Evolution's a bitch, sorry.

  • @MoonlightPrinces

    Excatly!!

    I hate anti-killing vegetarians.

    I mean, WHAT abOUT PLANTS??

They can't even put up a fight!!

The just sit there as we cut them apart.

Plants just live peacefully, they don''t bite or eat other plants.

And yet apparently we don't care about eating THEM.

I think we should just live according to the natural cycle, not skiping any groups.

  • @luvjam2012 Dumbass

  • @4evafreedom yeah that would be nice wouldnt it? well too bad because he sold his ostriches to a private exotic bird farm somewhere. :(

  • hehehehe

  • lmfao "c u on the menu"

  • These episodes are great to just kick back and watch on the Xbox with Netflix. And any episode where Mike is just moments away from almost certain doom, is just pure television gold!

  • "Aw, just be cool dude" LOL

  • These are specially trained Jousting Ostriches.

  • they need a Blood Elf to ride it

  • sry about the whole hooded thing!

    Perfect animals...

  • Haha.. They are so dumb that they really don't realise what's happening when the sock goes on. Like a snake stitched onto a huge body :P.

  • "please don't kill me please don't kill me!!" lmao

  • I worked for Doug at this very same place last week with my little brother. He knows my aunt who works at a bread store and she gives him old bread for the ostrichs. Me and my little brother was paid unload hay bails and feed them over the week . It was an AWEOME experience. My brother is still traumatized from the dominant male ostrich (Appropriately named Terminator) charging him. I would go back and work there for free though as soon as I return to victorville.

  • did you crap in your pants

  • this is hilarious

  • this is cruel.

  • This is by far my favorite episode.

  • By looking at an ostrich, I can see it came from a dinosaur. The thing is, a birds leg is bent the opposite way to that of a dinosaur. I wonder why?

  • 3:15 "o i forgot about the beck" lol

  • This job is a lot LESS dirty! A plumassiers is a professional who is skilled at dying feathers and making them into arrangements like boas, tufts and sprays for use in fashion and interior design.

  • Comment removed

  • how is this a dirty job? just looks crazy to me.

  • if you've seen the whole episode, you'll see how it's dirty. In the episode, the ostriches vomit in their water dish and drink it again, so Mike had to clean it. Now that was dirty!

  • any type of bird's worst fear: darkness

  • nah they hide there heads when there scared.

  • 4:55 lol

  • holy crap!! lol

  • CHOCOBOS ! ! ! !

  • Stupid way of handling ostrich. Simply take a throw and put it on the head of ostrich the result is same, it is much safe for handlers.

  • and I thought "dancing" with my rooster was fun and dangerous. :P

  • 5:15 - 5:20 lmao!

  • I love Ostriches <3

Ever since this ep aired, I have more respect for the Ostrich. They pwn, hard.

  • I love all types of birds! They are my weak point.

  • LOL

    "hey there"

    "please don't kill me"

I wouldn't have the guts to do that

  • hmm twice the time of a chicken egg?

  • That was awesome. At first the ostrich was like, "FUCK YOU" but then when they got the sock on it he was like, "whoa black magic".
