Yep....that's my balding head in the background when they salute. Jerry Van Dyke almost poked my eye out during rehearsals when he left his foil sticking behind him and turned while doing his dialogue.
Donald Benge (RIP, Don), the first guy Conway went against, actually WAS a competitive fencer for over 50 years. I was for about 6 before I started selling the equipment for the sport.
A fun day, even if the background guys weren't allowed into the set during shooting until our scene came up.

I'm watching the episode where Jerry Van Dyke think's he's dying lol and Johnny Bench trys to beat him up lol. This is one of my favorites too.
