One of the best comedies to come out of Hollywood. Rogers, Milland et al are knowing and terrific and Wilder's writing is very witty and double entredre. A real adult film in the truest sense of the word, to bring chuckes and appreciated again and again. In other words--a classic!! Thanks for the post.
She's awfully big for twelve isn't she?? Most girls are still growing at that age....if Ginger's character were really 12, but the time she was grown up, I think she'd be taller than Geena Davis! In any case, thanks for posting this cute trailer. It really is a delightful romantic comedy. :)
@JubalCalif - For some yes. But she's only 5'4...some girls grow fast then stop growing at 12 and 13 and stay an average height. I can think of some girls I grew up who are shorter than me now (I'm 5'5) but were really tall at 10 (over 5 feet). What makes her look so old to me are the waxed eyebrows and the not so great skin. LOL. But the movie is awesome. I love it no matter what.
Note the text...Every Inch The Major. I'd like to see that coming up on the Castro theatre screen...in the gay ghetto of san francisco...they'd howl. Actually that line was used in Beat The Devil, when I believe Robert Moorely said it, but used the word gentleman, instead of Major. Truman Capote wrote that line, and got away with murder back then. Right over the head of the census...
I saw this movie when I was 12 and I thought anyone who would be stupid enough to believe that a 31 year old woman could pass herself off as a 12yr old child, must have been mentally handicapped. However Ginger Rogers is a real " Betty" in this flick!
Love this and the movie along the same lines - Too Young to Kiss with Van Johnson and June Allyson...Thank you for posting.

@JubalCalif I agree with allizdaughter on the height thing. I stopped growing at 14, and I'm 5'3, so at 12 I think I was around 5'1 or 5'2.

A great pity that an accident robbed us of more from Rita. I am sure of that.
However she has left behind a legacy of great talent.
God bless you.
