  • how'd you do ur exhaust? i have a 434 motown in mines and i had to try all kinds of tricky shit to get true duels with n Xpipe

  • mine is just true duels. it doesnt have an Xpipe. i came straight back about 10 inches off the headers on both sides. cut a descent sized slash cut so the pipes were slash cut to the outside. slash cut another pipe about 10-12 inches on both ends so i could get to the outside of those miniature frame rails. after getting the angled cuts right on the pipe i slash cut a straight pipe (times 2) so itd match the pipe with the the slash cut in it already.

  • i then went straight back, mounted the exhaust off the crossmember of my torque arm on both sides. turnout tips allowed me to exit before the rear tires. to tuck the exhaust up under the car better, i used a plasma cutter to cut a rectangular shaped notch out of both of those frame supports. i had to oblong the rectangle so the exhaust could come through. after that i plasma cut some flat iron to fit the holes to cap off the hollow channels of the frame to reinforce it and welded the plating in

  • im not sure how long you can wait. but im still waiting for the snow to melt down at my shop to get my car down the sloppy gravel road. still gotta put the carb on, put all my rocker arms on, and set valve lash. i could put the car up on the hoist and take a video of the car from the bottom so you could see. i know my explanatiion would be very difficult to understand without seeing it

  • Super clean man. I just installed a Motown 434 sbc in mines with a 400 trans. How did you mount the torque arm on the trans? I'm going through that issue RIGHT NOW.

  • @ddirty2102000 summit makes a crossmember for a th350/th400 swap that moves the torque arm to it instead of on the tail shaft

    you can fab ur own i did jus get a stock camaro 5 speed crossmember n get a 400 tranny mount n weld her on but be sure to reinforce around the crossmember

  • my torque arm doesnt connect to the trans. i have welded in sub frame connectors. then have a round tube cross memeber located behind the tailshaft about a foot with a drive shaft loop welded on the cross member. my torque arm bolts onto that cross member.

  • there are cars definately faster. i know many ppl faster, but how many cars you see with power windows, power seat, back seats, power locks, full dash, windshield wipers, stock fuel tank, t-tops, and a full stereo with a subwoofer , full exhaust, running low 10's with full steel body and only a fiberglass hood? i dont personally know anyone around who has a car that can do that. are there cars that that have all that? yup. not many

  • my chevelle runs low 10's and has a/c. its not too hard to make a fast street car these days, a big crate engine will put almost any street car into 10's. not tryna talk down on your buddy tho, it is a badass car. that small block sounds mean.

  • a big crate motor, the right transmission, and the rear axle to hold it. i wouldnt say its "easy". not everyone can afford a crate 572. even with a "crate" 572 that wont get you 10's. i guess if you have someone doo all the mods for you its easy tho

  • @MrDart427 true it is expensive (about $14500 out the door) and it did require girdling the 12 bolt and new chrommoly axles along with a kiesler 5 speed. also ben smeding built the motor, but other than that noone has wrenched on the car but me, including the paint. and yeah im figurin i lost between 80-100hp because of timing too

  • @phatty1983 i also left out that one of the rear wheels i made wasnt true so at about 5k on the dyno the tires cut loose and spun each time. in the 2nd run you can see the guy trying to glue the tires but it didnt help. so that plus the 6timing is where im getting that figure

  • forgot something. your right its not that hard to make a fast car cuz you have all the ricers running around with fart cans revving on everyone that have a "custom" intake on them....:):)

  • @MrDart427 its funny too cuz most of those ricers cant even keep up with my silverado and its basically stock. yeah hondas blow unless you need gas mileage. i will admit they are good for that
