Honestly though, not that good of a mage. Hardly using anything to control, doubt i saw use of blinks, polys, etc. It's just a ton of arcane power and pom. This vid just makes mages look like we press 1 button in pvp.

Arc specs still own pretty hard in pvp at 80. The trick is to gear for lots of mana for shields and high mana spells. Casters hate my guts out there.

@14wojciechal Actually, a warlock casts much better than a mage, and does not care much about freezing. The only thing that's better in mages is their instant casts, but still, with the right pet, a warlock can silence them, and then 1shot them. Pretty nice video thought. Sadly, I can't do shit like that with my mage.

I think all the specs are viable for leveling, they just have different ways of doing it. Fire is the master single target killer, but also provides a good amount of AOE is specced well. Frost is better at CC than the other 2, but lacks in normal damage, but helps make it up with amazing kiting and shatter crit combos. Arcane, my personal favorite, is only viable after 64, when you get Arcane Blast. Its a sort of mix of fire and frost, and while mana is generally a problem, 2 min evocation helps

i disagree i used arcane since level 24-80 and it worked fine you have to spec right though some of the abilities will not help at the lower levels for leveling but it's very good considering arcane power 20% more damage for 15 sec it's great for damage and presence of mind is instant cast frostbolt/fireball then fireblast and if you have good crit chance you can crit both of those

That's quite close-minded. Every spec is capable of leveling. It's all about personal preference. I actually agree with Balyr. Arcane isn't really a mana waste, unless you're going balls-to-the-wall with AP, and not watching arcane blast debuffs. And another thing... how can you say that one spec is made for pvp? I think it only matters what talents are chosen from the tree to make it a pvp build, and most trees have valuable pvp talents. I've seen mages of all specs kick major ass.

personally, i went pure frost, and LOVED it. i found i had amazing surv. and pretty epic damage. pretty much nothing touched me once i had fingers of frost, frostbite, shatter, ect. arcane rocks (my current 80 spec) but i really reccomend frost, mixed with some arcane if desired. good luck with the mage :)

Arcane Barrage is freaking great because it does more damage than frostbolt but less than fireball, but its always instant-cast so you can just slow your opponent and run around while tickling them until the cooldown is done.
