hey dude, just looking for some advice here, how do you think of riff ideas and how do you use your influences if you use any? im just wondering cause for some reason i find it REALLY hard to come up with even slow, playable metal riffs and licks, im still a beginner really, but i have enough skill to cover alot of moderately hard songs.... just wondering if you can help, thanx!!
Writing your own riffs is probably one of the hardest parts of playing guitar, basically to come up with songs i'll play with scales and little licks from songs i know and just play complete random stuff and sometimes i'll play something i like or just envision something in my head and try and translate it to the guitar, thats the only advice i can give ya, just play something that sounds good to you that hasn't already been made by someone else
ok thanks man, nice cover btw, just remember before the chorus, there are two separate guitar parts, you and fatechange should try jamming to this song though, keep it metal \m/
yeah did it in Eb cuz i just got the guitar set up for Eb tuning (for my band) and didn't wanna screw up intonation, although i'm not sure how much a half step is gonna mess with that but yea
