no real hight of pagcor tower is 300 meters and according to the news 300 meters tall structure cannot be build near NAIA. every one knows how close the tower to the airport now they are debating weather to maintain the 300 meter or cut it into 200 meter or more. the rality is PAGCOR never claim to build a 600meter tower but an entertainment city with a simple tower in it to house its observation deck and a restaurant in it OK. Im a filipino and I know this things.

i heard that they will resume construction of this tower again, but bethany church is no longer funding this tower, it will be used as the main BTS (communication tower) for jakarta and a lifestyle center. however, making it a prayer center is a good idea but should portray religious tolerance in indo tho, (6 religions) not just a particular one
maybe they should pause when making malls and this project cause first of all Jakarta has a huge skyline enough to compare with other great skylines. second of all Jakarta has enough malls already. look at grand indonesia. its the biggest mall and hotel complex in jakarta i mean like just look at it its size. what i would do is pause anything which is proposed and focus on making clean walkways helping the poor people and adding nice parks and making nice hospitals.

I'm a little bit confused with people in Jakarta. We have soooo many problems in Jakarta. But nobody tries to solve it, instead they keep making useless buildings and malls. First, we need to have a good sidewalk, so tourists and humans can walk.
i cant agree more, like melbourne, it is one of the most livable city in the world not because there are so many malls or skyscrapers,but because there's a place when people can walk or just hang around with their family... it's got so many parks, river etc.. less stressful i'd say..

i heard that they will resume construction of this tower again, but bethany church is no longer funding this tower, it will be used as the main BTS (communication tower) for jakarta and a lifestyle center. however, making it a prayer center is a good idea but should portray religious tolerance in indo tho, (6 religions) not just a particular one

maybe they should pause when making malls and this project cause first of all Jakarta has a huge skyline enough to compare with other great skylines. second of all Jakarta has enough malls already. look at grand indonesia. its the biggest mall and hotel complex in jakarta i mean like just look at it its size. what i would do is pause anything which is proposed and focus on making clean walkways helping the poor people and adding nice parks and making nice hospitals.

No matter who made the tower or how much money they spent, it will still built in Jakarta. Be proud, be glad just enjoy it. they made it coz they have their own reason.
how about the poorer? it's not the gov. who gonna starts to help them, problem is why don't you or the rich people starts to help the poorer first? (nothing harsh, just saying) ^_^ Peace

Hey...stop complaining. This tower is not funded by the government. It's funded by Bethany Foundation (a Christian Foundation). I heard one of the funtions is to be the centre of Christian learning.

Am glad though for the Indo Christians.. The Indo Muslims have already got the Istiqlal Mosque or many other huge mosques..
Making this will give both religions the equal privelege to pray..
Look at the bright side, this tower can employ the poor ones who don't have a job,
But I agree, it's better to build monorails or trams or stuff like that..
Busway isn't enough,
If they give more space to the sidewalks.. Give another big space for bicycles.. (c)

(c) another room for trams (Cheaper than monorails).. (For streets like Sudirman or the smaller ones)...
And give tax for car owners.. From the weight and the type of the car.. Then, the country gains money and at the same time car owners will switch to Public Transports..
This is what they do in Amsterdam XD
But the gov is also fighting the corruption, it's not easy to develop Indo..:p

NO. This jakarta Tower is stopped since they cannot afford more money to accomplish it. Now A Christian church family so called Bethany Church continue and buy the building. Now the Jakarta tower will be called Prayer's Tower. It said that God asked this Christian preacher to cointinure the construction and God will backup the Financial.

Whats the fucking point of these while the CITY'S infrastructure SUCKS!! Private sectors all they want is build build and buidls, Money money and money. We might have the most tallest building or whatevah.... once the rains coming all we see is FLOODS, TRAFFIC, PEOPLE DEVASTATED, NO ELECTRICITY. Stop building an image!! Builds integrated infrastructure and Safe Zone !! Man....

imagine this building standing in the middle of Jakarta, and all you can see the view is OMG trash and whatsoever, these moneys are more worth spent on those who needs 'em more like the Tsunami victims. and terrorists of Indonesia will burn this building anyways

i agree mate! Jakarta is dirty and i hate traffics over there, floods are everywhere its no use making this building as a success. no one in the world as tourists wanna see this building anyways. see Sydney's Opera House, Petronas Twin Towers, and Singapore Flyer is much more worth it.

i think this is nota government project, but private projects by some joints of private firms. I used to also think that why dont use the money to help the development projects that will help the needy. But since this is not a government project so the money spent is not from taxpayers' money. Hence we cant critise the project.

I think its better for the Jakarta governor to invest in infrastructure such a subway,monorail etc. and places where people can relax such as parks. This building is only for image it does not contribute to the citizens of Jakarta.

I'm a little bit confused with people in Jakarta. We have soooo many problems in Jakarta. But nobody tries to solve it, instead they keep making useless buildings and malls. First, we need to have a good sidewalk, so tourists and humans can walk.

i cant agree more, like melbourne, it is one of the most livable city in the world not because there are so many malls or skyscrapers,but because there's a place when people can walk or just hang around with their family... it's got so many parks, river etc.. less stressful i'd say..

Seriously, better give the money to poor people or make the education systems better in Indonesia rather than building this ugly concrete. I just don't think tourists are attracted to this tower. Comparing this wannabe tower to Oriental Pearl Tower from Shanghai is like comparing Ford and Lexus. *Ford is the ugly one*

Perasaan proyeknya di ganti jadi Menara Doa Jakarta. Gereja Bethel Indonesia yang lanjutin. Pemerintah ga punya duit untuk bangun beginian. Dimakan sendiri la yau. Site nya di Kemayoran, cuman gw sendiri lom tau ada di mana nya. Rencana selesai sih 2008-2009an. Doain ajah, biar di pake secara bener.
