Starmaster is a very good game and I played it allot when I was a kid. I got to be about as good at it as humanly possible, which means doing the top level, losing only one starbase (it is impossible not to lose one in this level), and without fulling which is exceptionally hard (almost impossible, about one shot of an enemy). The guy here is wrong about starbases. They are destroyed one after the other (bottom left, top right, bottom right, and top left) at known intervals.
Now I dunno if I actually have played the hardest difficulty in this game, but whoever was playing was firing too much, you use 100 energy for every shot and the energy is your health. Of course, its not really worth griping about this video since its 27 years old now and the guy that was in the video might not even be alive anymore.
No, the key to beating this game is being able to hit the damn enemy ships!
I once read a "strategy" guide for how to get a perfect score on the highest level. It was basically "Move up one space, destroy the three ships there before the 15 second mark, move one space to the left, destroy the three ships there before it gets to 25 seconds..."
Umm, yeah. My friend & I tried to follow it, but you had like 5 seconds to destroy each ship or you'd never make it.
didnt this game come with a special gamepad with card insert on the front that had icons for diffrent commands?
