Notre Dame played and beat Miami their last head to head match up in 1990, I believe. A Lou Holtz coached ND team feared no one. Those Holtz teams faced Miami, Michigan, USC, Penn State, Florida State, Tennessee, and Michigan State on a regular basis. Brutal schedules for a brutal team.
USC 34 - nd 27. That makes it eight years in a row! 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. We will probably lose again next year in the Coliseum. USC is returning all of their starters, and the best QB in college football.

Notre Dame played and beat Miami their last head to head match up in 1990, I believe. A Lou Holtz coached ND team feared no one. Those Holtz teams faced Miami, Michigan, USC, Penn State, Florida State, Tennessee, and Michigan State on a regular basis. Brutal schedules for a brutal team.

USC 34 - nd 27. That makes it eight years in a row! 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. We will probably lose again next year in the Coliseum. USC is returning all of their starters, and the best QB in college football.

The wikipedia article on the ND-USC series is most enlightening. To date, Notre Dame leads the series 42-34, having more road wins, home wins, and neutral site wins. ND also holds the record for the biggest blowout (51-0 in '66, in the Coliseum) and the longest winning streak at 11 games ('83-'93). In the 20 years stretch beginning with my freshman year at ND ('82 season ) USC beat ND only 4 times. So I agree--fight on, USC. Maybe big brother will let you catch up after all...

You are not playing a powerhouse schedule like you are pretending Miami plays. Maybe is you were in the SEC/Big 12 then you can talk conferences. Our parish priest was a Theology major at Notre Dame. He was a HUGE football fan. He used to wear an ND sweatshirt on the weekends. He invited kids over to the rectory to "watch the games", then he pulled their pants down. Someone finally had the courage to turn him in.
