It's only a bandaid for a bullet wound if that's the only way we deal with the hurt someone else left behind. Everything you said is on point but we still have to confront that hurt, pain, negative self talk and where it came from and why we believe it before we try to add positive selftalk on top of it. I ended up with control issues that I did not realize I had. I went to take all of that outer self down and it left me unbelievably sensitive for a few years. You can't run from it. :)

The only thing about the costume is that we still need to deal with and confront those issues before/during this "pumping up" of the self phase. I say this from experience. While my outer self wasn't about glamor, beauty, and flash, it was a natural defense mechanism to a rough childhood. People hate, but it works. Once I saw the bad and undesirable traits in there as I got older I had to take it all down to deal with ME. So what you're saying about the "costume" or adopted attitude is true but

Dying is VERY bad for your hair and making it lighter is the WORST. But Im glad that I only have an inch of hair otherwise I definitely wouldnt risk it. I condition it almost daily though.... And thank you. I'm glad you like the color.

I have to say that sometimes people do need construtive criticism. Some people are better at taking it than others. But, the person giving the criticism should do so out of care & the kindness of their heart and for sincere concern for whatever the other person could be going through.
