  • The Family Research Council has been declared as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Their views are very bigoted and they frequently attack homosexuals, and no I don't mean a physically assault, they attack the gay community with lies. They have connections with Paul Cameron, who was thrown out of the APA for ethical violations", and Paul Cameron has published works citing that homosexuals have a short lifespan and they also ingest fecal matter. Both of these are lies.

  • Whats wrong with teaching kids acceptance of those different than you?

  • Acceptance of differences and pushinf homosexuality in kinds in first grade is quite a different thing

  • xothegirlz: WRONG. Students at Hillsborough HS are FORCED to "join" a diversity "club". Parents don't get a say. In addition, I am not sure if this is still done; but in the 1990s in North Plainfield, Stephen King novels were part of the English curriculum and students who did not wish to read them failed.

  • FACTS: The student brought home a "diversity bag" which included a book about different families. It had one picture of a child with 2 same-sex parents. Sexuality was not discussed at all. The school was making students aware that other students have different kinds of families. It was an attempt to prevent them being teased and bullied. The father was arrested for trespassing. He refused to leave because the school said this is not an issue of teaching sexuality, which is the truth.

  • This video is purposefully vague about how gay marriage was "tought" in the Mass. school. It makes the parents look like victims, because the father was arrested for choosing to have a standoff instead of taking it to court. It flat out lies about civil union rights being equal to marriage and the fact that religious freedoms will be taken away. And the immorality of gay marriage is an opininion based on religious beliefs of some, not all. It is also an insult to gay people.

  • The part about people getting prosecuted for religious beliefs if same-sex marriage is legalized is a flat-out lie. Studies have also shown that Civil Union partners don't receive equal benefits. The fact is, if this school chose not to inform the parents, that is on them. People won't lose their right to their beliefs in any way. Leave your religion out of what the law grants as rights to people, because not everyone believes what you believe. And, LOVE is important. That is the issue, not sex.

  • Thirdly: You're saying they "tought same-sex marriage." What does that mean? What is the problem with letting kids know there may be families out there different than theirs'? They never told those students which way to live was better. I wish I had been taught about gay people in a way other than the hateful statement my mother made about gay men being punished for having sex with men by getting HIV. There is heavy emphasis on multicultural education in New Jersey

  • First off school curriculum and marriage rights are 2 seperate areas of law and do not affect each other. One does not enable the other. Second, as a substitute teacher in New Jersey, and a college student about to become a teacher, I know parents have the right to say they don't want their children involved in a lesson if it is against their beliefs. For example: I had to let 3rd grade students read independently another book, because they weren't allowed to read Harry Potter.
