Well guys, theres a new sheriff in town. I ran into one of these bad boys the other day in my WRX. I knew I was going to lose but I just wanted to see how bad it would be. I run 13.4 pretty consistantly I ran him up to 120 in my car and by then he was 5 to 6 car lengths in front of me from a 40 mph roll. So they are definately going to be ruining people on the street but good thing is that they are expensive enough that they won't be EVERYWHERE. So I am still good on a saturday night :P

The ZR1 will have more power. But it's $30,000 more. It's gonna start @ $100,000. No matter how much power they give it. It still won't track as well as the GT-R. Typical american straight line drag strip car.
vettes are cool too, but do the math will ya. Per liter the gtr is actually making use of all its horses as stock. for that 100,000 car, any other car can be built with less liters, gvw. And upped suspension and power like a race class car. plus the gtr is all wheel driven and ready for corners as well as straight lines.
More details will be revealed this year, but it's unlikely to be available for purchase until next year. Until then we got GT5P to keep us entertained hehe
yes it comes in 6 colours i think, red, white, black, silver, dark grey, and light gold tan colour. But ive seen a video of a bright orange GTR so i guess those 6 are the standard colours.
Harrison is a new bodykit designer from Japan. Their first car is the new R35 GT-R. They have changed the airducts on the frontbumper. And that's it actually. Offcourse the colour is the most obvious and the colour coded rims. But that is just a different colour.
Harrison is making more parts available to the public. The new exhaust features a single sided tip and is made from titanium. The oil cooler is made to cool the differential oil because tests showed that the oil itself got too hot. Both new items will be available in may this year.
i'm seriously considering this car over the z06. it's the most practical supercar in the world. power, value, user friendly, lots of options, although i would like to see a manual tranny offered

Obviously that weight means nothing because the competition may be lighter but this car is still faster and from what i have seen probably handles as good or better than the competition.
Inside Line says that it makes that 3.3s time because of the GTR's Launch Control, which Nissan kept secret. Without Launch Control it makes a 4.0s time. I think the comp. maximizes the ATTESA system and puts all grip in all 4 tires and reduces wheelspin... like putting all the max power at max grip, coupled with super quick shifting courtesy of the double clutch.
Yeah and what launch control does is gets rids of the extra 800 pounds so it becomes lighter. Nissan kept it secret because they don't want their best time shown yeahhh yeahh sounds like a lot of horse shit

It has all to do with the electronics and how the computer controls to grip of all 4 tires. Computers are taking over, how much longer will manual transmissions for sports cars be around? Kinda sad really . . .
You're right. Getting a fast time isn't just about how much power your engine makes vs the weight of the car, its also about putting that power down on the road (as well as other lesser stuff like transmission shift times). And the Japanese seem to have gotten it all just right.
i would more then love to own one but if i was to get the most out of my skyline experience with power i would put the r35 engine into an r32 body for the lightest and most powerful package avalible and OMG it will be lightning fast lol

Your supra is not even close to this car in stock condition. btw this car has made a 1.01.x time on Tsukuba Circuit. So you better keep quiet. Mine's R34 had a 0.57.x time with 600HP, and Top Secret R33 0.58.x with 1200HP. so HP is not the only thing you need ;)

I heard that Nissan has intentional tried to make the GT-R "mod-proof". Not sure how that works, but if it's true we'll probably be seeing about as many tuned GT-Rs as we do Ferraris
yeah they have they have tried to make their ECU tamper prooft to maintain their UVEC status as a clean vehicle. But it's only a matter of time before tuners make a product that can over ride the block, shouldn't e much harder than deleting a speed governor, or something like that.

I don't know much about that car I haven't really read into it, but I can't see how it could possibly be that much faster than the new Z06. Even if it was, it would take one hell of a driver to get anywhere close to even 80% of its potential.
What is there needed to improve on the RB26DETT? There is no need for a 7 gear box either. What new technology can be improved on a 20 year old technology deprived from the CA18 and Racing technology.
I think they should had used the same engine (RB26DETT) of the R32, 33, 34 Skylines but with better technology, and also a 7 gear box to keep high torque at low RPM. I bet this car would be lighter and faster!
Probably not. Being around skylines and having gone in them myself, I feel it's pretty safe to say that this car will be a huge step forward. I'm sure if your claims were indeed true the Nissan engineers would have done so, the car was initially supposed to have a 7 speed, but they might have opted out for a six speed with well-dialed in ratios or to keep the price down.
While I am partial to the RB motors of the past, you have to keep in mind that inline six motors have gone by the wayside due to emissions regulations. It's just too expensive to build an inline six that complies with California emissions. Since Nissan wanted to go worldwide with this GTR, a v motor was the only way to go...
Just to let you know the heavy ass Iron block RB was no lighter than the aluminum block VR38, or i should say barely, also that but it also sucks with weigh distribution because it's so long. this engine is as good or better than the 26.
I have to admit this is a nice looking car, and no, American cars are hideous, trust me, I know, it's part of my job to look work on American cars all day...

the Z06 runs 3.4 to 60,and in some cases has been clocked as quick as 10's in the quarter with stock tires.not to mention,that the Z06 is Normally aspirated.the GTR needs forced induction to run.
Listen I like the Z06 over the GTR but the Z06 has a bigger engine, produces more hp, weighs less, and is more expensive than the GTR. The GTR is still faster to 60 and to the quarter mile, it stops quicker, and is faster in the slalom. Even then I would still rather have a Z06 or even better a ZR-1
I've heard and read that also. I checked on Nissan dealers in Japan and they are selling for $92K. Other dealer's prices may differ. It's not selling here yet.

huh? they are making lighter versions later to be released. their twin clutch gearbox and transmission is probably a big reason for the weight. Plus the z06 is a two seater, as opposed to the GTR's 4. That makes a big difference, especially when they are trying to balance the weight of the car.
We are lucky in australia to have the HSV's and FPV's battling it out with respect to bhp. US has the new G8 which is the lower level HSV, and the UK saw the Vauxhall VXR(?). And these are made within reason, ford mustang price levels. Technology suffers in comparison to the GTR though, and it is a different league, but to some extent you get what you pay for
When you make these monsters cheap though, you run the risk of a lot of young people buying them and killing themselves, Dubai, UAE had to ban the selling and importing them many years ago for a while as they were killing their kids. Go check up on the InsideLine World's First GT_R Test. They said they managed to get about 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.

yeah they have they have tried to make their ECU tamper prooft to maintain their UVEC status as a clean vehicle. But it's only a matter of time before tuners make a product that can over ride the block, shouldn't e much harder than deleting a speed governor, or something like that.

I don't know much about that car I haven't really read into it, but I can't see how it could possibly be that much faster than the new Z06. Even if it was, it would take one hell of a driver to get anywhere close to even 80% of its potential.

What is there needed to improve on the RB26DETT? There is no need for a 7 gear box either. What new technology can be improved on a 20 year old technology deprived from the CA18 and Racing technology.
It was a fine move to move into the VR38DETT.

I think they should had used the same engine (RB26DETT) of the R32, 33, 34 Skylines but with better technology, and also a 7 gear box to keep high torque at low RPM. I bet this car would be lighter and faster!

Probably not. Being around skylines and having gone in them myself, I feel it's pretty safe to say that this car will be a huge step forward. I'm sure if your claims were indeed true the Nissan engineers would have done so, the car was initially supposed to have a 7 speed, but they might have opted out for a six speed with well-dialed in ratios or to keep the price down.

While I am partial to the RB motors of the past, you have to keep in mind that inline six motors have gone by the wayside due to emissions regulations. It's just too expensive to build an inline six that complies with California emissions. Since Nissan wanted to go worldwide with this GTR, a v motor was the only way to go...

Just to let you know the heavy ass Iron block RB was no lighter than the aluminum block VR38, or i should say barely, also that but it also sucks with weigh distribution because it's so long. this engine is as good or better than the 26.

I really don't like the GTR, but you can't argue with 0-60 in 3.3 sec. That is faster than a Z06, viper or 911 Turbo. And yes I like the Z06, Viper and 911 Turbo way more than the GT-R

the Z06 runs 3.4 to 60,and in some cases has been clocked as quick as 10's in the quarter with stock tires.not to mention,that the Z06 is Normally aspirated.the GTR needs forced induction to run.

Listen I like the Z06 over the GTR but the Z06 has a bigger engine, produces more hp, weighs less, and is more expensive than the GTR. The GTR is still faster to 60 and to the quarter mile, it stops quicker, and is faster in the slalom. Even then I would still rather have a Z06 or even better a ZR-1

I've heard and read that also. I checked on Nissan dealers in Japan and they are selling for $92K. Other dealer's prices may differ. It's not selling here yet.

No the Z06 doesnt run 0-60 in 3.4 seconds don't lie to yourself. Also the turbo vs. NA thing is stupi when comparing V8 to V6, the turbos only even out the displacement. what kind of man names himself phoobears anyway?

huh? they are making lighter versions later to be released. their twin clutch gearbox and transmission is probably a big reason for the weight. Plus the z06 is a two seater, as opposed to the GTR's 4. That makes a big difference, especially when they are trying to balance the weight of the car.

We are lucky in australia to have the HSV's and FPV's battling it out with respect to bhp. US has the new G8 which is the lower level HSV, and the UK saw the Vauxhall VXR(?). And these are made within reason, ford mustang price levels. Technology suffers in comparison to the GTR though, and it is a different league, but to some extent you get what you pay for

When you make these monsters cheap though, you run the risk of a lot of young people buying them and killing themselves, Dubai, UAE had to ban the selling and importing them many years ago for a while as they were killing their kids. Perhaps that is not the answer, but it is a viable issue that needs to be looked at before allowing a low price on 500bhp.

Well, they drove it, but they did test it. There are still independent performance figure of the GT-R, everything that we heard about how fast it is provided by Nissan from 0-60 time, 1/4 mile. top speed to the Porsche beating Nordschleife time.

i thought there already were GT-R model cars. but GT-R was just a model package of the car. like a durango R/T > SLT > SXT.
I'm pretty sure i've seen cars with GT-R badging on them so maybe that's where my confusion comes from.
