Hi, I was the Resident Drummer in the Derbyshire Miners Ballroom in 1983, aged 20 in a duo Called MGM, my first season....some great Characters including Kids Entertainer Uncle Stan and in the Tavern Bar Young Piano sensation Mr Tim Sweet. I went back in 1989 as Resident DJ/Greencoat, I remember Alan J Bartley the rock n roll comedian and a great Vocalist called Griff St James

when i was little i used to chase the camp photographer around the camp with my water pistol, also used to hide a bar of chocolate in our house coats before going to the dorms at night. ANDY.

watching this video of the old miners holiday camp at skeggy being torn down brings a tear to my eye,,, i spent every yr at that place ,, for 18 yrs it's a shame,,, i have some fond memories of that place,, i wish it was still there,, my kids would have loved it just as much as i did as a boy and teenager.

@SuperJollyJack Hi, my name is Jerry, Im from Lincoln originally but now living in Blackpool...I was the Resident DJ on the camp in 1989 and Griff was the Resident Compere/Vocalist...Nice guy and a great Talent..

@lozere2008 yeah me too went there every year till bout 1989...such a shame and some very fond memorys of that place..butlins will never come anywhere near that place
