I hope Bond 23 returns to the format that made 007 movies fantastic - Action, adventure, Glamour, special fx, exotic locations, beautiful girls, proper villains, gadgets and the return of The James Bond theme in the movie itself - is that too much to ask? (and before anyone says - yes I know there were elements of the afore-mentioned utilised in Casino Royale & Quantum Of Solace but not all!).
Its just too bad that for now...there will never be another bond film,since the company MGM have gone bankrupt.There were also 2 other films within the company that wont see the light of day (no money to finish them).

I liked Pierce and all the others over him because they were more human-like and sarcastic. I understand people like the all-serious,non-joking Bond;but it just doesn't seem like a 007 movie anymore. There is no gadgets;there are hardly any shootouts anymore,and no sarcasm;things Pierce always had when he was Bond. (Not blaming the actors,just the directors and scriptors)

This was a good film. Not on par with most Bond films, but enjoyable nonetheless. Criminally underrated. Had superb acting, and an excellent plot. But it was too short in the end, and most powerful moments were quickly interrupted by blind action. But like I said, I enjoyed it, and added it to my collection of Bond films. I own every one of them because they are all good films, this just wasn't the best of them.
I completley agree. Bond is my favorate series. I think Craig is a diffrent kind of Bond and because everyones so hung up on Bronsan they don't give him a chance. Diffrent doesn't mean bad... I mean look at Connery vs Moore they had completely diffrent acting styles as did Dalton and Brosnan, all of whom did an amazing job. It was not the acting so much as the script writing which turned people off this movie. It tried to be a film on it's own while setting up quantum for the future. I rate 4/5

Funnily enough the feel of the film, or at least this trailer is a great deal like some of the missions The World Is Not Enough game on the enhanced N64, which is in many respects superior to the film of the same title (more in depth).

I agree. Although I have to say the original Connery and Moore films had that as well. Don't get me wrong I like all the Bonds and the franchise has always had me hooked but I did like it when they used to do actually spy stuff.... like checking for bugs of sniffing the scotch in case its been poisened. Bronsan was the bond of my teens and apart from Goldeneye I don't see the big deal. He relied on gadgets way to much

If you want a REAL Bond character, as Ian Fleming would have wanted, look at Daniel Craig's Bond, he doesn't sweet talk any of the chicks at the bar, he walks in, and gets the damn job done...
@SCaitan It was more like 200 feet and some people have chute failures and still walk away with minor injuries. Plus, it's not like he just got up and walked off, he was down for ages.

Goldeneye did the same thing. Cool car, then instead of using it he drives a tank through St. Petersburg. Possibly my favorate Bond chase of all time but what the hell happened to the car? I do understand why they did it in this one though they are going for realism like the originals. Doctor No and From Russia with Love no gadgets other than revolving number plates. @hansTowns remember casino royale 2006 version, is bonds very first mission as a 00 agent, and QoS is the conclusion to the story of casino royale. and since bond finally did what he had to do, I think and obviously hope the old bond traditions will return, but with a new twist to it. with james being the fighting james, like sean connery was, but with more modern technology and better fighting sequences. and maybe major boothroyd (Q) is introduced in this upcoming bond 23
@hansTowns change is good sometimes. People aren't as impressede with all the gadgets these days as our iphones can do more than most old bond films these days. Better acting and better story telling , the numbers at the box office speak for itself, were about to hit the trilogy mark.

@hansTowns Daniel Craig said they filmed those part at an interview, but didn't put them in because he said it wasn't the time to put them in yet. He said they might out those in the next movie or so.

Daniel Craig will get into our hearts as a new Bond look at Pierce lots of people didn't like much like Craig when he started but then after 3 movies Bond fans were happy to call him 007. Craig is different much like Pierce was. We just have to adapt to each Bonds own touch to the series! That is why the Bond franchise is so great, you can look at over 6 Bonds and see how far the name 007 can and will go!
Brosnan's Bond was favorite until Craig's portrayal in Casino Royale which blew me a way. Made me a believer. He's hard-edged, calculating, but cool as ice and never has a lack for words.

I thought Quantum was a pretty decent movie. With that said, I think it lacked a plot which made Casino Royale such an awesome movie for me. I think the movie hovered in the middle too much. It should have either been a bit darker or a bit wittier. But, it was still decent. Not as good as Casino but still good. I do love this new take on Bond.
You got to think, though, spies in real life don't run around like this; they only get information and that's it. Isn't this "Craig" era suppose to be more realistic? In whatever case, the movie explains their reasoning behind why Bond becomes this superhero-like guy rather than some clandestine agent. But he was a loose cannon at first, which is what this movie was trying to express. That's why he seemed to be so thuggish.
Plus, this'll make making a better sequel easier...
It's a question of taste if this is a good movie or not, but I did not find any of the typical Bond elements. No humor, no Gatchets, the antagonist is much to normal, things like he plans happen every day. And what Ive missed the most: There was no "Duell" going on between him and Bond, just leaving someone dying in the desert is no way to end a movie.
Fuck "Q".. he was always annoying.. I hope they don't resurrect him.. as for the stupid gadgets and quips, they belong back in the 70's with Roger Moore.. times have changed, and so must Bond. Daniel Craig is, hands down, the best Bond ever.. I do agree that Casino Royale was a better picture, but if you want the stupid stuff, watch Austin Powers.

@hansTowns remember casino royale 2006 version, is bonds very first mission as a 00 agent, and QoS is the conclusion to the story of casino royale. and since bond finally did what he had to do, I think and obviously hope the old bond traditions will return, but with a new twist to it. with james being the fighting james, like sean connery was, but with more modern technology and better fighting sequences. and maybe major boothroyd (Q) is introduced in this upcoming bond 23

@hansTowns change is good sometimes. People aren't as impressede with all the gadgets these days as our iphones can do more than most old bond films these days. Better acting and better story telling , the numbers at the box office speak for itself, were about to hit the trilogy mark.

@hansTowns Daniel Craig said they filmed those part at an interview, but didn't put them in because he said it wasn't the time to put them in yet. He said they might out those in the next movie or so.

Daniel Craig will get into our hearts as a new Bond look at Pierce lots of people didn't like much like Craig when he started but then after 3 movies Bond fans were happy to call him 007. Craig is different much like Pierce was. We just have to adapt to each Bonds own touch to the series! That is why the Bond franchise is so great, you can look at over 6 Bonds and see how far the name 007 can and will go!

"GoldenEye" and "Tomorrow never dies" proved perfectly (grossed tons of cash) 007 can be modern and unique at the same time. 30-year-old Bond movies stand above productions from their times. In 30 years no one will distinguish Craig's Bond from other action content.

not a Bond film. Can;t have an ugly man play Bond. Exciting, I guess, but I'd rather Jason Bourne since it is true to character. It's imply not a Bond movie and never will be..no matter how much you enjoy it. Hopefully some day we can digitalize Craig for a real Bond, say Lazenby, and watch the same movie. that would be awesome!

I thought Quantum was a pretty decent movie. With that said, I think it lacked a plot which made Casino Royale such an awesome movie for me. I think the movie hovered in the middle too much. It should have either been a bit darker or a bit wittier. But, it was still decent. Not as good as Casino but still good. I do love this new take on Bond.

You got to think, though, spies in real life don't run around like this; they only get information and that's it. Isn't this "Craig" era suppose to be more realistic? In whatever case, the movie explains their reasoning behind why Bond becomes this superhero-like guy rather than some clandestine agent. But he was a loose cannon at first, which is what this movie was trying to express. That's why he seemed to be so thuggish.
Plus, this'll make making a better sequel easier...

It's a question of taste if this is a good movie or not, but I did not find any of the typical Bond elements. No humor, no Gatchets, the antagonist is much to normal, things like he plans happen every day. And what Ive missed the most: There was no "Duell" going on between him and Bond, just leaving someone dying in the desert is no way to end a movie.

Fuck "Q".. he was always annoying.. I hope they don't resurrect him.. as for the stupid gadgets and quips, they belong back in the 70's with Roger Moore.. times have changed, and so must Bond. Daniel Craig is, hands down, the best Bond ever.. I do agree that Casino Royale was a better picture, but if you want the stupid stuff, watch Austin Powers.

Well said.. (on this comment alone) However, I disagree. Craig will indeed write himself into history as one of the finest Bonds ever.. this is evident in his raw, fresh portrayal of Bond in what is, in fact, Ian Flemings first Bond novel. History has been written.. we, as spectators, are lucky to be present in the making of it. If you want the campy, stupid quip spouting, gadget loving bond (grappling hook watch?! laser beams?!) Then hit up your local video store and look up Roger Moore.
