Thanks, but actually, I think I would rather use a twist tie- easier to undo if I need it longer, plus I don't want to tie a electrical cord or any kind like it were shoelaces, just in case that might do something to it.
thanx man, it worked so well.....i no the vid doesnt really explain too much but i just bout managed to realise what you did then tie it up at the end lol...thanx :)
Looks like an awesome way to shorten my uber long headphones cord, but it's kinda dark to see what you're doing and the article is gone :( Explain please?
Only problem is, with how hard you're pulling on the wire you are stretching it causing damage to the copper inside. Eventually it would cause a break in the wire rendering it useless. Maybe if you didn't wrap it so tight.
its a basic fisherman's knot also the same basic way you make a hangman's noose. Be awair tying your electric cords like this can damage the wires inside
Thanks! Now I don't have to carry 3ft of cable in my pocket... but it's still there if I need it.

Wow. Don't do this to your cords if you want them to last.

Good method, but did anybody else notice that this is strangely similar to tying a hangman's noose?

Just don't do it with power cables, or you may start a fire.
