@boru1982 Or neither? I have sometimes wondered if this music could be Beethoven's. He was a great admirer of GFH, and he had the talent to write this. Listen to the opening bars of the "Missa Solemnis." It makes more sense to me than the "Ochs forgery" story.

I had not heard of her before I played this video; clearly she was one of the all-time greats. But the public does not remember contraltos as easily it does sopranos!

Die Aafje, ze emotioneert.

heb in een interview haar horen zeggen dat ze niet naar haar eigen opnames kan luisteren. Too Much. Vooral dat heerlijke eenvoudige orgel erachter. Zong ze maar in mijn kerk vroeger. Je zou er bijna gelovig van worden.

Mevrouw kon al als kind de 2e en de 3e stam zingen. Wereldklasse uit de Zaanstreek. Nog steeds. I love you Aafje met je talent als geschenk!
