  • Advanced Bass Guitar Techniques? That's Ryan Larson's department.

  • Oh yes, very advanced stuff right here... Seriously, get the hell of of Youtube if you are just gonna make random, pointless videos about stuff that is not even close to advanced technique. You guys at expertvillage think you are such hot stuff pretending to be smart and making crappy instructional videos huh? God damn this is pathetic...

  • Man, you do an excellent job on here. I've been a drummer for some time now, and I can say that I really appreciate a good bassist.

Always keep up the good work.

  • another fail by expert village, if this is an advanced bass technique i would hate to see your beginners

  • if this is an advanced bass guitar technique i would hate to see your begginer videos..

  • i've been playing standard tuning for 15 yrs our new guitar player plays drop d i hate it i have to relearn all the patterns all over again i think it will be easier to just fire him lol

  • ahahaha wow... thumbs up dude.

  • @Lemure33tree

    lololol

  • nice

  • System of a Down just play with drop-d...

  • Easiest way to tune every type of bass:

4 String- Play E on a piano and tune from there

5 string- Play the open B string and then play the 2nd fret on the A string (octave tuning; the notes should sound the same)

6 string- Tune all the strings as accordingly but for the C string, play the 3rd fret on the A string and compare with the open C string.

Drop D: 4 string- Play the open D string and drop the E string to match it.

That's it! No need for a tuner!

    You're welcome.

  • a 6 string bass is not tuned like a guitar, the 6th string is also tuned to a 4th, so you still do the 5th fret / can still do harmonics.

  • @seanrquinn

I am well aware of that fact and even explained it as best as I could. By "B" string, I meant the "low B string (5th string)," in case that was misconstrued. I don't use harmonics for tuning, as bass B strings are hard too hear, even amplified. Still, you put better than I could!

    Peace.

  • Oh well I've never had a problem hearing my harmonic on my B, maybe that's just my basses.

  • wow ur bad

  • Not advanced, but good for beginners

  • Cool....but how is this in any way an "advanced" technique?

  • i don't know a jazz band with a drop d bass. i think he means hard rock or alternative...

  • emh....jazz ???
