I wanna buy the band ViViD's music but it is no where to be found. The song Ring is awesome along with Fake, some1 tell me where I can get their music pleaseee.
Zettai Zetsumei is actually my favorite album by Radwimps. There early albums [radwimps1-4] sound too much like Blink182 for me, which isnt necessarily bad. But zettai zetsumei was so incredibly unique, even compared to there other albums. But im glad to see it on your top 10, specially considering Radwimps don't get much recognition outside of Japan.
I ABSOLUTELY agree with your number 1 :) Dum Spiro Spero is too mezmorizing to forget. it's the only one that i can honestly say that i can listen to on repeat. I would say number 2 would be Gemini for me.
My No.1 album of 2011 would have to be Alice Nine-GEMINI. I was OBSESSED with this album. I love it to pieces. It showed a new side of A9 to me and all the songs in it just seem to flow right into each other. I hope their new album 9 is as good as GEMINI.
I am soo happy that you put DSS as nr.1! It is such an awesome album and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I got it!! :D also yay for GEMINI <3 and sadly the artists that I listen to haven't been releasing any albums this year so I can't make a top 10 ^^
The fact there are no female artists on your list is kind of weak dude. At least you kept a lot of it heavy. Between Milla and the Geeks, Merpeoples, Heavenstamp, and JinnyOops! all dropping albums and singles, I'm surprised you could have had a little bit of variety in your list.
Given how much VK stuff you're reviewing, I'm really surprised with your top10 for the year. Don't get me wrong, amazing albums in that list. Thumbs up for the limited edition cover of DSS.
you've done it again! i couldn't agree more with dir en grey's dum spiro spero. Dir en grey have done a great job of developing their own unique sound and seem to continuously release new material that doesn't sound like their previous ones! i love how you hear something new everytime you sit down w/ DSS. i don't know if you are familiar with galneryus, but their album "phoenix rising" is another great album that was released. check it out sometime! overall, great choices!
I will try to list the albums I like that stay away enough from being full on j-pop, some may be debatable though :P. And yes I'm subbed here but don't listen to visual kei, thankfully you review more than that.
Sakanaction - Documentaly (glad this made your list), B'z - Cmon, Baseball bear - Shinkokyuu, The Pillows - Horn Again, Galileo Galilei - Parade, Polysics - oh! no! It's heavy polysick!, Veltpunch - His Strange Fighting Pose, Nico Touches the walls - Passenger.
My top 10 1. EAT YOU ALIVE - the world is mine 2. Aqua Timez - Carpe Diem 3. ONE OK ROCK - Zankyou Reference 4. BACK-ON - Hello World 5. BLOODSTAIN CHILD - Epsilon 6. RADWIMPS - Zettai Zetsumei 7. Dir en grey - Different Sense 8. the GazettE - TOXIC 9. Alice Nine - GEMINI 10. NoGoD - Genjitsu
Love the top 10 love that "One Ok Rock" and "The Gazette" was in there but I actually felt that "The Gazette" new album should of been above one ok rock. Also so glad that dir en grey is in #1 because dum spiro Spero was such an inspirational album. It even made it to be my favorite album of all time ( also love it so much I even got the $160 special edition). One ok rock, the gazette, and dir en grey rule. And keep up the videos j-rock fan, u rock.
#1 def Dir En Grey. Instead of getting more poppy or mainstream or staying the same they became more underground heavier and edgier, I loved it! Changed my perception of some things.
Well.. I don't like A9. There are a few songs I like by them, but overall, nope. Vocals throw me off. Diru is good as a band, but again, vocals throw me off. Only certain songs sound great to me. But for the most part, many of their songs sound the same. I have Uroboros and I swear I hardly ever notice when a song changes, unless it goes to a slow one. I don't know any of the other bands you have on this list and as far as Toxic goes. Not my favorite album, but you know this already. XD
@Pooobaihr23 Ooops.. I do know Versailles... lol. That should tell you what I think of them. I don't like them. I like one song by them. Literally ONE song. "Shouts and bites". But other than that. Nope. I've tried them out and just like Diru, many of their songs sound the same also.
@TH3JROCKFAN Gonna go with GazettE I guess. Not many of my favorite bands released albums this year. I think D did, but I haven't heard it outside of its main song, which I really liked. So.. Gonna assume its a tie between the two bands.
February and Mars are going to be great months for J-rock. Matenrou opera are releasing a new album, Moi dix mois are releasing a new album (Have you listened to Moi dix mois? XD), D are re-recording an old single and, uh... Other stuff that... I... Forget about... 8D
But I'd really love it if you reviewed Matenrou opera and Moi dix mois new albums. :3
Versailles, Holy Grail was easily the number 1 for me of this year. The GazettE's Toxic album, I really adored, I loved the sound, the feel and everything. A band that is not heard of a lot Aicle. an Oshare Kei band, there Arc album I enjoyed alot. I didnt think I would like them but I fell in love with them. Kiryu, there album Mugen Hoyou, is really unique. Ive never heard a style like there's before. So these are my favorite bands. I would add more but Im out of word space.
I have to agree with you on the GazettE's "TOXIC". I've been a big fan of the group for the past few years but as new singles come out, I find myself getting attached to fewer and fewer with each release. It could be that I've gotten too comfortable with certain sounds and tones from their music, but after I heard TOXIC, I didn't find many of the songs to be memorable. I really liked Remember The Urge and Sucide Circus, but other than that, not much else really stuck to me.
I know my top 4 because I don't want to be on here much longer but 3 of them are in your list. 4. Sim Seeds of Hope, 3. The GazettE Toxic, 2. One Ok Rock Zankyo Reference, and 1. Dir en Grey Dum Spiro Spero. Dir en Grey outdid themselves this time and I just saw them live on the 18th and it was even better live!
I love your channel! XD you keep on improving. I find your reviews excellent and it has never failed me once. I get introduced to new bands which whom I never knew existed AND see the bands that I love and stalk :3
Dude I am so glad I came across your channel awhile back. I got introduced to Jrock through Abingdon Boys School and have come to love much, much more Jrock. Thx to you it has been so much easier to find music I really love! Thx again!
1. D'espairsRay - antique
2. DELUHI - VANDALISM
3. the GazettE - TOXIC
4. defspiral - PROGRESS
5. DaizyStripper - SIREN
6. Kagrra, - Hyakki kenran
7. NIGHTMARE - NIGHTMARE
8. ONE OK ROCK - Zankyo reference

1) Dir en grey - Dum Spiro Spero (\m/)(\m/)
2) Onmyouza - Kishi-Bojin (Recommend this one to all)
3) Versailles - Holy Grail (Not the best from Versailles but still very solid)
4) Galneryus - Phoenix Rising (Still prefer Galneryus with Yama-B but very good album)
5) Deluhi - Vandalism (Tbh, I prefer most of the origional tracks but still it is good to hear them)
