The Owls here in California make three sounds that I am aware of: they hoot, Screech, and make this clicking/ticking sound. If someone could interpret these sounds it would be appreciated. I believe the clicking sound maybe used to disorient bats by jamming thier sonar capabilities; but, do not know for a fact.

They fly low at night. One buzzed me years ago while walking home from seeing: "The Exorcist". Classic Hinduism does regard them as demonic, some sort of messenger from hell and such.
