Turner Classic Movies showed this movie of 01/17/2012. A TCM Premiere from 1969. You got two of the best actresses going at it in one picture...Geraldine Page plays not only a homicidal manic, but a psychological killer that stars Ruth Gordon, Rosemary Forsyth and Robert Fuller. At the time of it's release it was given an "M" rating due to some disturbing violence in 1969.
My Aunt and Uncle took my brother and I and my cousins to see this movie when we were kids, and I saw it for the first time in over 40 years last night on TMC channel!
Ms. Page could be terrifying--even in her 'sober' roles there was a strange subtle look of evil in her eyes even as she smiled. Terrific actress--really one of the best of all time.
Is more scary than baby jane thats a fail straight off ? Slander ah no there both good Baby jane cause its black and white and this causes it colour but it gives the whole move away in the trailer
I absolutely love this film - Geraldine Page is excellent but what the fuck is this trailer all about? Who are the divs chanting 'Aunt Alice' every five seconds?
I don't know for sure whatever happened to Aunt Alice, because I haven't seen the movie yet. But I imagine from the looks of her, she had a hairy mama muff like me.
i dont even remember what decade it was that i last saw this.......it was a very interesting movie, true not a classic, but very entertaining........i also cant remember the last time i saw YOU'LL LIKE MY MOTHER.....that was sort of along the same lines as this. back in the 1980s' i had all of this stuff on vhs tapes - no one ever told me the tapes eventually disintegrate !!! who can afford all the dvd's!!!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING THIS CREEPY MEMORY !!!!!!
What a movie! Geraldine Page was SCARY!!! Terrible she wasn´t killed in the end of it...Here in Brazil is known as "A Mansão dos Desaparecidos" ('Disappeared Mansion' in English).
@Ro34100 That's interesting!! In other words, the titles don't always transfer word for word because of language considerations. I wonder if folks from Germany , Spain , Arabic etc, could give us other examples
yeh this was a creepy movie and Geraldine Page was an amazing actress and played offbeat really well ,there had to be a little of that in her do u think?
This has become one of my favorite films of all time. These two actresses were simply marvelous! Geraldine Page also won an Oscar later on for The Trip to Bountiful.

I felt this was an okay movie...not great. Certainly doesn't come close to "Baby Jane".
Nice to see Robert Fuller in something besides Emergency!

"Was Aunt Alice the killer, or the victim, or both?" What a silly trailer for a fun, over-the-top thriller.
