@potteryqwerty i use 600watt and that is pretty standard. I dont like CFL cause they dont put out much light. The yields arent that great because of the lack of light. I do use CFL for day 2 of germination to maybe a week in tops. Then after that they go under the 600watt, keep the light a foot or so from the tops of the plants and they will shoot up and the stocks will be nice and strong, and most important higher yields
@funguysmall, thats a good logic you have there, but some people use actual lights! not one you just go and buy from a dollar store, i mean real strong lights, and depending on the wattage you should decide how long on/off. you probly had the slower grow fase because your lights are weak and dim, but if you have 70 watt hps or any higher, then atleast a few hours of darkness a day would be acceptable.
Leave the light on for 24 hours for vegetating mode! if using CFLs grows 15%-40% faster, its pointless doing the 18-6 time span, my plants are a week old and is alot biger than yours with more leafs! i used to do the 18-6 time and it took forever to grow, doing it 24 on is alot better my friend
i planted my seed on monday and it sprouted on wednesday and now its friday. Its only like an inch tall it had 2 leafs but 1 curled and fell off i guess it was too far from the light so i moved it closer now its looking strong but this plant is way bigger and both our plants are like a week old? not fair. im using 100 watts of warm fluorescent tubes and my other conditions are perfect. Whats going on!
