  • great idea, now i just have 2 figure out way 2 build 1 with electrical outlets so I can plug in my speakers, computer, etc... so I can work in peace. the apartments above me & next 2 me drive me absolutely nuts, as I hear them walk, stomp, etc... but 4 this kind of cubicle, I guess m gona need 1 foot to 2 foot thick walls, door, & space for at least twice my body length, length and width.

  • Did you use a foamalater or a foam balancer?

  • loving the bass on the track =) damn good little booth too!

  • I dont have an interface so when I record i cant hear my self does an interface make it so I can hear my self

  • @iandelandro8 you need an interface fosho.. then.. you can hear yourself while recording. get a good quality headphones so the sounds wont leak into your mic while recording.

  • @flip18o thanx man i appreciate it

  • I have a question wanna make mine just like that to recored my stuff.. how much is the booth? and were did u get it?

  • I want to know how to connect that man who is in booth hear sound in his headphones, and I hear sound of music on my headphones and I hear sound of vocals when recording. What do I need?

  • @ridiska I didn't fully understand your question... what is it again??

  • @flip18o hes asking like , when buddy is singing in the mic , how can he hear in a seperate pair of headphones what hes saying

  • @ridiska he means how is it possible to monitor vocals through your headphones. most daw's allow for this function, im only familiar with cubase so im not sure how much help i could be, contact the support line for your software or look it uup in the manual. that is a commonly used feature; you will have no trouble finding it

  • @ridiska A good thing for that is the Big knob:)

  • @ridiska you need an audio interface

  • @ridiska An audio interface with that option would be my suggestion... just a random example, the Onyx 400f I believe would have what you want. Do some research on audio interfaces, you'll surely find one that can do it.

  • @ridiska u culd use headphone splitter

  • @ridiska i understood it. the recording headphones conected to interface and some other headphones conected to the pc, i guess.

  • @ridiska you need what is called a "splitter". also, interfaces usually have more than one input for your head phones

  • hey what kinda mic was that and does it use phantom power and how much was it???????

  • @jcrossem at4047 condenser... which means it requires a 48v phantom power

  • Hmm my question I got for you bro is I want to do practise and recording LOUD. I mean straight loud, how do I set it up so people can't hear me practising? I don't like knowing people are listening to me you know what I'm saying? I know what sounds bad, and when I sound bad, it means I got a dozen or more takes to do so I get it right and I'll be the only person who hears it before it's done. I only want others hearing gold. Don't care as much about recording quality, as I care people hearing.

  • @MedicRap only solution for you is to have a real booth bro... that's the only thing i can say..

  • @flip18o Yeah fair enough. I've seen some of them but three g's is not something I'm rolling with at this time, lol. Thanks bro.

  • @MedicRap 2inch thick foam works well

  • ok i like your design but.... without a door of some kind the area is somewhat pointless

  • @MedicRap get your WHOLE room PURE DEAD in soundproof like 100% then add some bass traps and ur set!

  • I have to say, great innovation! But, it's way too enclosed which is why you are getting the "box" sound. Your sound is bouncing back too fast because the foam is way to close. The only you could probably pull this off is if you use the measurements of an actual isolation booth. That way your sound doesn't bounce back because it has adequate space. Your best bet is a reflexion filter, even it has holes to allow sound to get through.

  • @CALICOTV301

    u got a good point

  • hi man im a noob wanting a set up like yours, i just want to ask a few things starting with, why do you need a reflection filter when you already have the whole booth? i thought they was just a portable smaller version of a booth to dampen the sound. Also why do you have a sheet on the ceiling when theres a roof on your booth? and finally what is supporting your foam? it looks like a closet?

  • @4RealandTruth

i wanna b perfectly honest with you. the booth i made definitley isolated the sound from leaking out but didn't really helped improving the sound quality. when youre recording in the box, it does sound like youre recording in the box... i prefer you gettin bass traps for 4 corners in your room and buy you a reflection filter. trust me it will be lot better than a box like this. btw.. i got rid of this booth :D

  • it's absorbing. not "obsorbing"

  • thiis is very nice bro..i mad my own and i mad a random song but my booth isnt like urs

  • very dope and ver neat, looks good!!

  • Great job man, I love it

  • shit legit im funna do that shit

  • Looks good bro ... Whats it sitting on ? It looks like 2 red boxes on top of 2 black boxes ?

  • yea dis beat is tight

  • @sioneanitoni thanks^^

  • let me get this beat

  • @NickeyBeaverTV i'll send u the beat... just make sure u credit me and subscribe and leave a video response to my video with your track... give me your email... i'll send the mp3 man

  • what dst is yur foam if it's from auralex? cus thats pretty cheap 200

  • mine is just a bunch of wall carpet you think that would work

  • @TheMakenmoney wall carpet works just fine^^ i got rid of my booth tho... istead, i started setting bass traps and treat the walls in my room. thanks for watching

  • very creative

  • NICE booth...what did you use to build tthat?...did u just nail some pieces of wood together?...

  • egg cartons dont do anything just a heads up

  • im wearing headphones not loud and i can hear the bass at the beginning in my feet literally

  • That looks nice. What kind of mic stand is that? I like how it got somewhere you can place the headphoens on. Nice looking booth. Peace.

  • superman would love that thing

  • THIS IS AMAZING:DD

i gonna do this one.. the width and height?

  • thats nice ese i could make some shit like that..................raper from san diego

  • @skinniloco1 your a raper from san diego?! thats gross dog. haha i hope you mean rapper :p

  • where did you get the foam?

  • This is a 100% Ghetto-Rig

  • you need to put a curtian behind the singers head to minimise reflections

  • You might wanna edit this: "absorption foam" not "obsorbing foams."

  • haha nice, thumbs up.....

  • What about getting a large plastic rectangular tub from a discount store and lining it with the foam. You can secure it to your mic stand with holes drilled and some fasteners. It also doubles as a carry case if you want to load your recording gear for a mobile job.

  • nice and dor

  • GOOD STUFF MAN

  • Wow this is amazing. Btw, what does a reflection filter do? and how much did you pay for that mic?

    Cheers

  • how big is each sheet bruh

  • @bigboimanman

I didn't measured it...size of regular door, but lil shorter...

I'll measure it when I can and let you know...

  • Sorry, but that type of lightweight foam is going to do bugger all in your favour... it may be 'absorbing', but only in the higher frequencies which will solve any kind of flutter echo problems but in the process just emphasise the low-end problems that will inevitably be present in an untreated room that cause most of the problems in home recordings.

  • You want to acoustically treat your whole room with proper broadband absorption panels and bass trapping, recommended to be made from at least 6" of Owens Corning 703 or equivalent (60kg/m3 or greater) rockwool / fibreglass. This would greatly improve the overall acoustic of your room and negate the need for a 'vocal booth' as well as greatly improve the accuracy of your monitoring setup.

  • A "vocal booth" may seem the pro thing to do, but in reality the kind of vocal booths you find in top studios are larger than the average entire home studio and have really finely tuned acoustics. Its much easier to treat a larger room to sound good than a smaller one... recording in a box is always going to sound like a box, unless you have at least a foot of high density fibreglass on all sides of you. Hope this advice can be of some help to you!

  • @6d617474

true... but we aint professionals you know...

gotta work with what we got...

    but thanks for your comments.

I was actually thinking the same way..

  • hey, that looks pretty good to me. want to come here and build me one? hahah

  • yo that's sexy man,

btw what type of headset do you use?

i need to get a new one

  • I'm using Sennheiser HD 280 PRO

I also think Sony MDR-7506 is pretty good one.

    their both right around $100.

  • dammm,

    thx for the info man

imma save up for the sony

  • flip18o your background beats is dope !

  • thank u.

  • yo this is tight for sure bro!

  • Where the hell do you find/buy these things

  • at any music stores or online.

type in absorbing foams or acoustic foams.

  • @flip18o thanks hyung :)

  • oooh nice, gives me an idea xD

  • my booth aint 100% done yet.

I'm thinking about getting reflection filter made by SE Electronics. But shit's $299.

    which is expensive as hell.

  • dang, well to get the best, gotta just save up

  • Oh- I would if I could.... but no freaking cash! got desperate so had to spend it on a snowball mic and an extra tom for my drumset lol

  • you can also find good absorbing foam packed in the boxes that the lexus rx 400 xenon headlights are shipped in,the lights cost $1,500 each but they give you a nice big piece of foam ! so far i got 8 pcs that i removed after installing new lights , my friend who delivers toyota & lexus parts has been getting & keeping the foam too, several shops save it for him, he built a nice sound room too, the foam does make a big differance in sonic quality !

  • cool cool
