  • I was at this game, such great atmosphere. I've been to 4 Ohio State games in m life (one of which was OSU-Michigan) and no matter what happens on the field, I'm pretty sure everyone cheers loudest at the dotting of the i.

Also, 2:53, cameraman gets nailed by the sousaphone haha

  • drum major flip doesn't count as a tradition?!? Pretty sure back bending is done by many college drum majors... Cough* michigan does a better one*

  • Wish there was more music, less clapping.

But it's funny to see the cameraman getting clobbered from a different angle.

He was where he shouldn't have been, & was warned... chose not to move.

  • Sousapwn.

  • 2:53 the camera guy gets his camera smacked by the sousaphone!

  • I've seen just about all the Big Ten bands live, obviously OSU is the best, I'd have to say the 2nd best would be MSU, followed by PSU, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

  • 4,8,4,10,10,24,12,8,12,12,12,8,12,8,10,8,4,9,8,8,8,4,5,8,6,8,6,16,10,10,MT14, 4,4,6,12,6,4,8,MT16, 4,4,8,MT18,4,4,6,12,6,4, Dot the i. And then add that everything is based on various distances from the side lines, hash marks, painted numbers, and band members, add music, 105,000 people cheering, and every band member has to know this... yeah follow the leader my A**!!!

  • @JDStucks ...... JDStucks? I wonder who that is? haha. And yeah, you're right. It's complicated stuff. Not to mention if you play trombone you don't get to march straight.

  • Wisconsin and Ohio State- Two best bands in the Big 10.. Hands down!

  • Lets hope that one Day Brutus the Buckeye would have the Honor to Dot the I in Ohio!!!

  • thanks for uploading, great vid and band performance.

  • @m99marine it may look like a follow the leader, but trust me, it's not. Every band member is tested to make sure they know the counts between each spot in script. People in it screw up all the time, but the person behind them usually fixes it, and at worst it goes back a few. Sure, you could just do a follow the leader, but by the end, the big O would look terrible, like scUM did it.

  • I wanna see this live once before I die!! O-H!

  • wait...Penn State has a band...?

  • The best band to party with would have to be the Wisconsin band (for those who don't remember, the entire band earned a one game suspension not long ago for excessive alcohol consumption, among other infractions) but for tradition, precision and on-field show TBDBITL dominates the entire college landscape. There's nothing that compares to the ramp entrance before every home game. Go Bucks!

  • lolololol i had never seen this angle, i had only seen the view from the camera that gets hit, and as for the argument for script ohio vs floating lion, my view is WHO CARES THEY ARE DIFFERENT BANDS GET OVER THE FACT THAT THEY BOTH DO DIFFICULT THINGS AND BOTH HAVE THINGS CALLED TRADITIONS

  • Great quality! Love the Bucks!

  • Only thing I dislike about Script Ohio is that when you are there live its very hard to hear the band because of the clapping.. Then again I was in 36B row 34 at this game =]

  • Did not kow Penn State had a band. Hope they have more color that the teams uniforms.

  • This would have to go down as one of the best pre-game shows in all of college football. The band has the crowd up from the beginning of the script until it's all finished. I love it and would love to be there in person to witness it, but it's along way from South Georgia to Ohio and football tickets are scarce!

  • @m99marine Very weak, most would put the PSU band behind OSU, Wisconsin, and MSU. Hell, most people couldn't name one PSU band tradition. The obnoxious repetitive 'Nittany Roar' gets more pub than your band.

  • Penn State has the Floating Lions, look it up, it is much better than anything that any other band in the big ten does. it sure as hell aint no damn follow the leader drill. when osu can do the floating lions or anything that penn state can do, then and only then are you allowed to talk to me.

  • @m99marine

well congrats... PSU can spell the word "LIONS" and then just go 8 to 5 down the field. and actually OSU has done the same with the word "OHIO" in the rose bowl. so OSUMB can and pretty much have done everything penn state can do, sorry to break the news.

i mean block lettering on the field isnt hard to do...when UNC spells "CAROLINA" and "TARHEELS" or when Texas has spelled "TEXAS", it looks harder then what penn state does

  • @m99marine Do you know how precise you have to be to march this? Every person has to know where they are at and know how many EXACT steps to take to certain points of the Script! Do you think those crossthroughs just happen by accident? No it's called being PRECISE! Floating lions..I can find everyone that's not a psu fan who doesn't know what that is but they know what Script Ohio is! Let me know when psu band gets more hype than TBDBITL

  • @BuckeyefanHill33 Hmmm it isnt as hard as you might think there buckeyeboy, the crossthroughs are called suicides and every high school band in the country does it. its not hard at all and it never will be. just admit that its a follow the leader, cause thats what it is. oh and tons of people will say that the floating LIONS drill is 100 times better than anything osu has ever done on the field. when you stop being a fan and actually do something then come talk to me.

  • @m99marine I've seen the so hard floating lions at the game last year...are you kidding?? how is that hard?? go south and then flank north!! yeah, that's real hard..oh and make sure you don't run into anyone while we spell fucking lions..and how would you know that drill is 100 times harder? do you know exactly what they do? cause I don't think you know shit about TBDBITL and you're just trying to get your band some credit for saying something they do is hard when it actually isn't

  • @m99marine again, let me know when psu band gets more attention than TBDBITL because we don't get on ESPN or ABC for nothing!

  • @m99marine @m99marine Script Ohio is not just follow the leader. There are specific counts to each part of the formation....also in regards to saying the Floating Lions is much better than anything that any other band in the big ten does. Do you even know any other marching traditions of any of the other big ten bands? Do a search of "Script Ohio" and "Floating Lions" and sort the results based on view count and tell me how close the highest view counts are...Ohio

  • @m99marine

blah blah. Dotting the I is consistantly ranked as one of the greatest college football traditions. You don't like OSU, that's fine, but don't open your mouth and show what a twit you are.

  • @kirkoa the script Ohio is still stupid. i dont believe i said anything about dotting the stupid "i". i said that the follow the leader pregame show is stupid. i dont care about OSU tradition at all. learn to read and comment on what ive said not what you think i said.

  • @m99marine You are a douche. OSU's band does plenty of marching... nobody has even seen PSU's band. everybody is distracted by your "p.o.s." mascot costume and your dinosaur coach

  • @m99marine I laughed when i read this. seriously? id like to see you try to make it in the tbdbtl. you have to audition for your place every week. name one psu band tradition that anyone talks about. thtas right, no one even talks about your band

  • @m99marine Owned and I do not even go to OSU. In fact I am not even a fan of OSU.

  • @m99marine hahahahahahah what a joke, have you seen the other things they do? Also it's not just follow the leader it is wayyyyy harder, get a life

  • Great Video! the camera guy just had to mess it up, but great video!

  • who dotes the i today? the precision of this band is amazing. the drum major is awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • a senior sousaphone player dots the i. sometimes the ohio state lets famous people dot the i such as jack nicklaus and john cooper.

  • I don't recall Cooper ever doing it... Maybe he did and I forget it... (much like I forget much of the 90's Cooper teams, lol)

I know Bob Hope, Woody Hayes, Nicklaus, and Buster Douglas have done it and I think Gee did it too.

  • Matthew Heller (the sousaphone player) graduated from my school! That is cool to see him and own the camera person. lol.

  • it was frank cosenza

  • This is GREAT quality! Too bad you couldn't really hear them play :( and after years upon years of tradition, you would think cameramen would know better by now!!! *shakes head*

  • wow I wish I wasn't sitting 5 rows away from the field for this game. I didn't know about this...

  • HAHAHA that camra guy from ABC sports got his camra hit by the dotted i guy haha i seen that on TV............USC BABY GO TROJANS !!!!!!!!!!!

  • great!,

and you can see when he knocks the camera.

  • Great angle! Thanks for recording it!

  • great quality
