I believe that they were just gifted that way. I don't know whether they really were trained professionaly but I guess not. If ever, they were probably trained later after they got discovered. Martin has been singing since he was in high school here in the States. I think he was discovered in the Philippines when he sang with his dad. Regine was discovered when she won in a popular singing contest. I think she was trained by her dad when she was young. Bravo!
