VERY nice work, I love the idea of an open flange with more angle to divert flow...thanks for posting this, I plan on building one myself...Nice fab job...
@DonW21G did you divert the flow to the scroll towards the bearing housing or towards the outlet? and did you make the valve out of inconel or just ss?
@turtlemann14 I chose to divert the flow to the outlet side. I don't have any info as to which side would give the quicker spool up. I simply made a guess. Diverting to the outlet side does blow back on the large diameter of the wheel, where as diverting to the bearing side blows towards the small diameter of the wheel and the outlet.
@worpedteg Sorry, but if you can't afford a mass produced unit, you certainly won't be able to afford me building you a custom unit. Besides, I don't make cheap stuff.

in this setup you would have to merge the two banks right? instead of running both banks into the respective scroll

@turtlemann14 Correct.

@turtlemann14 Valve is SS.

Would you be willing to build and sell one for a t3 turbo? I know there are some out there they just charge to much.

It should open under pressure, right?
TheVenomTT 1 year ago
@TheVenomTT The shaft is centrally located on the blade so must be operated by spring pressure, MAP pressure, or CO2 pressure from the actuator.
DonW21G 1 year ago
that's pretty awesome. where did you source the actuator from?
tobylazur 1 year ago
@tobylazur We have a diesel turbo shop nearby. They had a box full of old actuators. I just picked one of them out.

i want one...

I use CO2 and the aux channel on the boost controller to have better control over the valve.
DonW21G 2 years ago
don just curious why not have the valve closed and open with the boost signal?how does it open after boost is applied?
