@twish1999 This trip was almost 1000 miles and takes about 16 hrs. I break it up into 2 days and really don't mind the long drive.. It gives me lots of time to think and sing to my music! LOL
You ARE having an adventure! I kind of like traveling the back roads when they are clear and well maintained! What route did you take? (I'm a "map person" and I like to track journeys!) I wish I was sitting right next to you, riding shotgun. It would be nice if your mom returned with you. I think once she gets out, she'll enjoy the trip. My mom never wanted to go out, but because she suffered with anxiety - she felt safe at home. It looks as though you are in a nice room! Have fun and update us
@popparoc46 Yes, I am on an adventure. I traveled on I-10 most of the way, then turned on 75 to come down into Florida. I wish you had been sitting next to me too checking on that GPS and keeping it in line! LOL My mom will NOT be coming back with me.. She just won't budge.. :(( My sister IS coming with me for a visit though!! :)) We leave for home on Tuesday morning!
It is always strange to take the back roads because some aren't marked right on those gps devices. Hey to ya -- well you are gone from that area now but we know that area well. Hope your mom comes home with you. Enjoy your visit!

Driving in the dark never used to bother me. For reason's unknown to me, this year I just don't feel like driving, or even going out when it's dark. I just feel like.. meh, it's dark out. just stay inside. Sit in traffic or sit at stop lights. There's not much you can do. I hope the rest of your road trip goes well.

and my sister's 50th Birthday. I used to drive thatstretchh of the road many times during my dads 18 month battle with cancer. Those darn GPS units are a curse sometimes. It has taken me the long way few times. Stay safe, be carefull. I used to take a 357 magnum with me, it made me feel safe.
